Pros/Cons
  • Pros

  • Good logging functions for troueshooting. Good dashboards to see the full picture of infrastructure healthy.
  • I love the amount of time we save keeping our systems updated and secure and confident that the latest security patches have been applied.
  • Easy to navigate and use. Also has the ability to provide easy to read reports to present to higher ups to show them that patching your software is important and Automox was worth the purchase.
  • Cons

  • The scheduling is still relatively naive, it will reboot your computer during a zoom because there's no "benefit of the doubt" if you miss their pop-up notifications.
  • Policies did not seem to apply correctly. Still requires WSUS( or risk using online windows updates which kill bandwidth).
  • I was using an old Windows Update Server (WSUS) which in itself was a pain, but that only updates windows. Automox updates windows plus all of my other software that I have installed.

  • To be completely honest, the peace of mind gained from using Kandji completely negates any cons I have and makes me infinitely & joyfully patient for the improvements in those areas.
  • Compared to JAMF, this was a huge win for us. I also loved how easy it was to setup Automated Device Enrollment.
  • The support has been outstanding. Both by chat and videoconference, all of our questions from the mundane to the obscure have been answered quickly and clearly.
  • Cons

  • This is difficult for me, because the team behind Kandji really put a lot of thought into their product. There's nothing I've found to be lacking or missing.
  • Pro Level MDM at a Lower Cost and Administrative Burden.
  • Blueprints can help organize systems but leads to some frustration when attempting to make a one-off commands.
