easy to use

we use it to inspect our 3D printed parts and it's been great.

PROS

I like the various levels of interface complexity and the general ease of use. Much easier to use that alternatives on the market. I also like the dedication to scan data as opposed to CMMs.

CONS

I wish the PMI import was more current with Solidworks so I could import MBD, or alternatively, that they supported another format like step for PMI import so that Solidworks versions weren't an issue.

Reason for choosing Geomagic Control X

easier to use, more optimized for working with scan data

A well developed metrology tool. Nothing lacking...

From installation to confident use of CX was one day. It is a very "deep" inspection tool. Automating frequently used tasks is one of Control X's greatest strengths.

PROS

Speed and functionality. Ability to annotate models and results. Model to Scan Comparison is awesome. Measurement tools are broad and deep. There are so many ways to customize the software that we haven't yet explored. You better understand GD&T with any product like Control X to put it to good use.

CONS

Its deep functionality can be daunting to learn. Report Customization is fairly straightforward, but you do have to dig into it to really create and automate results.

bring back qualify / control

i am still using an older version of control as are many customers because control X is over complicated and difficult to use.

PROS

good reporting, but too complicated for most of my customers

CONS

way to complex. dificult to train people on. screens and hidden tabs are difficult to learn. qualify was simple, easy, and covers 80% of what most need which is to compare the scan to CAD and create a simple report.
