Pros/Cons
  • Pros

  • What I really like most about Matlab is the simple, beautiful and intuitive GUI. I like that it is cross platform.
  • It is a good software for developing mathematical models using 1D simulation. It is a simple, easy to understand and best software for new learners like students who have less knowledge of coding.
  • Cons

  • Its hard to find some errors in codes and program doesnt give warning enough.
  • Some of the Simulink blocks create algebric loops. Sometime finding some Simulink blocks (such as: voltage controlled source, current controlled source) are difficult.

  • Pros

  • The thing I really liked about this product has been the simplicity of use. I mostly used it for displacement and stress analysis on complete assemblies.
  • The product had a very powerful and effective simulation package which, once the UI is updated, will be a very useful overall package rivaling any analysis software that exists.
  • Cons

  • It sometimes feels its hard to ascertain how the mathematical calculation variables are affecting the final result.
  • Missing components and functions cannot be modeled in SimSolid.
