Cvent Event Management is a cloud-based solution that helps midsize organizations and enterprises with venue sourcing, online event registration, budget management and payment processing. The solution enables event planners to track the attendance of multiple events and capture relevant data.

Cvent Event Management enables event managers to create event calendars where attendees can view upcoming events as well as sync them with their calendars. The solution provides budget management capabilities that track funds across multiple events, calculate each meeting spend and overall variable costs.

Cvent Event Management has a reporting feature, which offers built-in reports and also allows users to create customized reports. The data from all reports can also be exported. Other features offered by the tool include custom event websites, contact management, mobile websites and social sharing. Cvent offers integration with other third-party applications, which include Salesforce, Concur, Marketo and Eloqua.

    The greatest business benefit was the level of self-service available to users of the mobile app - allowing them to do things that would previously have tied up staff at the event.

    Pros

    The customization options are great. For instance, we were able to create a mobile app that was very much 'on-brand' and offered event attendees more than ever before both before, during, and after the event.

    Cons

    I guess it's not the cheapest option around. But it is reliable.

    It has lots of features that you may or may not want to use. Having them available and tied together make it great for our attendees

    Cons

    The biggest downer is having to play by Apple's rules causes us to not use it as our with our on "wrapper". So we end up selling Cvent while selling our own events.

    Cvent outlines meeting and event specs intuitively so that suppliers can response quickly and efficiently. I love how easy it is to navigate and modify certain fields pertaining to your program.

    Cons

    The required fields at first were confusing. As you use the platform more it makes more sense.

    I enjoy the tab duplication feature as it allows me to be more productive.

    Like I said earlier, the people assigned to my account and others that I've met and worked with from Cvent through customer service and also other departments focused on individual modules of the platform are incredible. They are passionate about the work, they are upfront about what could or might not work for our case, and they are true partners.

    Pros

    Cvent is very easy to explore and use. It offers a great deal of customization and has a plethora of modules to add on that can grow your and your attendees' experience. The customer service is round the clock and everyone is very knowledgeable. The people assigned to your account as well as the custom service folks on the phone are also incredible in helping you work out issues and build on ideas.

    Cons

    The cost. In a nonprofit getting the business case for putting more money toward something, even if we could really build something strong and grow our attendees' experiences is hard to convince when the contract costs are still fairly high.

    Good for events budgeting and payment processing. I like that I can use QR to register people. It saves time in general

    Not good enough for big companies and will be too expensive to small ones; I think it will be perfect for medium sized only

    Honestly, I found this product frustrating and a big time waster. Always crashing in the middle of answering a large rfp and having to start from scratch. It’s also hard to format your rfp in a visually pleasing manner.

    Pros

    App makes it easy for event planners to send out an rfp to multiple vendors and ensure that they have the basic relevant information included.

    Cons

    It is very hard to get in touch with planners for additional questions. It encourages planners to send an rfp to vendors that are not of interest, leading to extra work for vendors with no ability to qualify the lead.

    We've had a few change of hands over the years; however, our current management team has been amazing. Working above and beyond our own expectations. I think as the product evolved so did the mind set of the company and their employees.

    It's easy to use and there is a way to get all you need.

    OnArrival is my favorite product that makes check-in a breeze!

    Cons

    We have a complicated program and need service providers that really understand our various tracks. It's difficult to get a random person on the 800 line that doesn't know us. A 'simple' question takes a long time to get an answer because we have to explain our program to each new person.

    I use Cvent every year to register for my primary corporate seminar. Every year I have used it has been flawless, from what I can tell. I have only ever used it as an outside user, not as an admin, but it has always been a good experience.

    This software is one of the leading on the markets. It is a great system to handle the whole event planning. They are a massive organization with a great team behind them. They know the industry and their product. It is a robust system that is useful for all event organizers. Being able to connect with venues and manage the event from a simple app is so innovative. Compared to a lot of systems, Cvents is very straightforward and intuitive for registration for the manager and the attendees.

    It is a very robust system. Not really necessary for small events as it could be a bit overwhelming.

    All of the different reporting options and other products that cvent has to offer. I am excited about the new project flex since that will allow for more customization and ability top make every website for registration look unique to its own purpose.

    Cons

    There are times when I am performing a certain task that the cvent software is not very user friendly. For example when I am viewing all invitess and registrants in order to advance to another page I have to scroll all the way to the bottom and it does not show as an option at the top of page. Also, if I am on page two of the attendee list and click on a name. When I go back it does not take me back to the page it was on, it takes me to the very first page. So when you have 4 pages and on top of that i have to scroll every time to the bottom of the page it is annoying. Also, Cvent does not yet have the capability to do bulk payments or edits when changing a registration type.

    Cvent's event management software saves countless man hours and potential marketing costs.

    Pros

    Cvent's Event Management solution truly automates your meetings & events marketing, registration and check-in processes. Upload your attendees with from an Excel or CSV file. Create and send save the date, registration open, reminder emails and practically anything else you can think of to effectively market your meetings & events. Check your registration numbers at-a-glance. Run reports to see who registered, who didn't, and even who is possibly thinking about it with the abandoned registrations feature. My favorite tool is OnArrival (event check-in). Put those days behind you of paper tickets, attendee checklists, and long lines & chaos at the registration table. Upon arrival, your attendees check-in on an iPad, or you can scan them with a mobile device, and look cutting edge while doing it!!!

    Cons

    I would say that Cvent's Event Management platform, like any other tech platform, has a learning curve a moderate one. Setting up my first event was challenging even with training. To my surprise, setting up my second event was even more challenging. Partly because I challenged myself to create vs. copy (feature) my second event from scratch. Due to the platform's many, and I do mean many, features and functionality, I found it difficult to remember all the steps (menu navigation) to create an event. Undeterred, I contacted Cvent's Customer Support (really Customer Care as they go the mile for you) to help me create my second event. For the second time around, I worked smarter and documented all the steps. I can honestly say, it's been smooth sailing ever since! If I run into a snag or have a question, I contact Customer Support or look to my Cvent Community for help. There are many meetings & events solutions out there, but it's hard to beat one of the first and best to market! Stop searching and give Cvent a try.
