Cvent Event Management is a cloud-based solution that helps midsize organizations and enterprises with venue sourcing, online event registration, budget management and payment processing. The solution enables event planners to track the attendance of multiple events and capture relevant data.

Cvent Event Management enables event managers to create event calendars where attendees can view upcoming events as well as sync them with their calendars. The solution provides budget management capabilities that track funds across multiple events, calculate each meeting spend and overall variable costs.

Cvent Event Management has a reporting feature, which offers built-in reports and also allows users to create customized reports. The data from all reports can also be exported. Other features offered by the tool include custom event websites, contact management, mobile websites and social sharing. Cvent offers integration with other third-party applications, which include Salesforce, Concur, Marketo and Eloqua.

Cant register for an event

Companies with this level of support (e.g. cvent and facebook) should not be in business.

Pros

sounds like it should be good. They talk a good game, but it is a lie for them to say "Help is just a click away"

Cons

Doesn't allow me to register for an event. Error codes for several days now. Went to support where it says "Help is just a click away", 10 minutes and 30 clicks later in their maze to avoid interaction and I finally called only to be put on hold for many minutes. I hung up.

They cannot get tracking to work... they have no support team knowledge and mis sold it in the first place!

worst CX I have had in a long time.

Pros

This is only for a 3 month campaign... after that I am rid of them
I will never need to speak to them again... ever.

Cons

the tracking doesn't work... don't believe them
Mis selling - anything to close the deal
Client success abandoned us before they had ironed out any details.
Support doesn't return calls
Account manager doesn't return calls
Its clunky
oh.... and the tracking doesn't work... don't believe them

Pros

Cvent has great functionality. It registers and checks in event attendees, it is tech friendly with QR codes to register people. It manages the financial transactions, helps with seating charts and is very effective for really large events.

Cons

It is pretty expensive and the initial quote always ends up exceeding value. The customer service is not very reliable, i never get straight answers because it has to do with an added fee to reburse registrants or an added fee for analytic functionality.

Great Product for Looking up Venues

This is a great program that we have been using for 5 years and will hopefully continue to work with them in years to come. We are even looking into using their event app for our next big conference.

Pros

We do a lot of meetings throughout the year, and Cvent is the quickest way that we hear back from hotels. I usually can get a response from all the hotels within a week. I also like to use Cvent for Event Registration. It is a great program to keep track of attendees.

Cons

The only problem is that when creating your Event Registration there is not a lot of flexibility for sub questions that need to be answered when attendees are registering.

The RFP tool has made life so much easier when sourcing hotel and putting together proposals. Before cvent all of this was manual, now it is automated and you can review each hotel in one place before you source them. For the event management tool, there are just so many features and widgets that you can use for your events. If booking hotels the registration form can integrate with passkey so the attendee can reserve a room right away. It also integrates with our GDS to our air team has the most up to date requests in their system.
The On Arrival suite and the Crowd Compass app are huge time savers for large events. We used the On Arrival suite to check in attendees at a recent event, print their name badges, and confirm their optional activities all in one place and on average it took less than 5 minutes to do all of this. The Crowd Compass app was easy to set up and customize for each event and really streamlined the onsite process for our planners and attendees. I have used the app for a conference I attended as well as for events that I planned. Instead of printing out hundreds of pages (schedules, maps, surveys, so on...) for each person Crowd Compass houses everything an attendee needs. You can upload the event agenda, map of the conference center, you can send notifications about room changes or special pop up events, take real time polls/surveys, and network with the other event attendees through the app.

Cons

It is difficult to navigate and not very intuitive, I frequently find myself searching for the field I need or calling support because I have an issue I can't solve...and I have used the event management tool for over 3 years now, on a regular basis too! The travel module does not integrate well with the rest of the event management models. I am hoping that Flex will solve some of the issues but that will not be completed until Oct. 2018. Reporting is confusing, they offer so many report options which is great but finding the correct report is a challenge. You can create a custom report but again the types you choose from are not intuitive. For example, I recently had to create an air actual report so I chose the report type air actual; however with that report type certain features like airline and the record locator are not available (those fields seem kind of important when pulling a report about flight). I have to select the report type, air actual details, in order for those fields to show.

I enjoy the end to end experience that cvent allows for both our team and guests who attend are events. Gone are the days of endless spreadsheets and searching for reporting after events. We originally searched for a company like cvent after realizing how much time we were spending getting events going and followed up upon.

Cons

The price point benefits people with many events and many participants. We fall into that category, so it's not something that dissuades us. I recommend cvent to anyone holding various events and needing efficiency.

Cons

I fear with the switch to the Flex platform that I will lose my ability to customize sites. Currently the system is easier to customize and I hope they allow power users to continue to have thar functionality.

The ability to scale an event management solution across our large, enterprise program was a huge win for my team!

Pros

Cvent's event management solution has plenty of flexible features that make logistics including registration and session tracking a breeze for busy event planners. Plus, the customer service is second to none. (Seriously, one call to their support line will transform the way that you think about help & support lines.)

Cons

It can take a while to learn the ropes and feel comfortable navigating across the platform. That said, after you get the hang of it, using the event management tool will be like second nature.

Cvent allows you to control all aspects of your event, including registration, email marketing, and billing. It even allows for integration between many CRMs. Our company uses Weblink as our CRM and it integrates perfectly together

Cons

Most of their options for events is a la carte pricing. So sometimes you may not be able to fully utilize what Cvent has to offer due to budgetary constraints.

If you know what you're doing, it can be very impressive. It can save event templates so you can just copy them over to your new event.

Cons

The site is slow and very unorganized. You can achieve a feature in several different ways, but if you don't "discover" where all those different ways are to review them, your event set up will not work properly. They need to simplify the process.

The ease of use for both the planners and the participants is wonderful. Participants are able to register a large group of attendees without an issue, which was a complaint of our previous system. The reports are customizable and the parked reports are loved by our partners.

Cons

Pros

It's easy to use the new Flex system with simple widgets and drag and drop options. You can create basic simple events to complex streamlined multi-day events.

Cons

Cvent tackles all the classic event problems and even things that you didn't know could be an issue. Time savings is the initial benefit.

Pros

The support given around all solutions. 100% felt everyone was invested in our success.

There is something for every organization, every challenge and existing issue is solvable with Cvent. It was refreshing not to have to jump to many different tool to accomplish our meetings and events.

Cons

It's a little intimidating to get into at first. There's just an overwhelming amount of capability. We didn't really know where to start. Once you cross that start line things get rolling.

Pros

I like the ability to set up most aspects of my event in one program. I like the customization options and that some areas are super reponsive to any little tweak without diving into code.

Cons

HTML is still used in some areas which makes editing hard. There are aspects of the program that are 'locked' until you ask your account representative about the functionality and they unlock them for you or explain where there are hidden.

Cvent's reporting feature has changed my daily work routine. It's so quick and easy to pull reports for key stakeholders. I also really enjoy working with the customer service team. They are timely, helpful and great at communicating at all hours of the day. The Cvent Community allows users to increase productivity and streamline processes by sharing with one another.

Cons

There are some functions that are slightly outdated but Cvent has announced that their road map will be enhancing these functions in the near future.
