Cvent Event Management is a cloud-based solution that helps midsize organizations and enterprises with venue sourcing, online event registration, budget management and payment processing. The solution enables event planners to track the attendance of multiple events and capture relevant data.

Cvent Event Management enables event managers to create event calendars where attendees can view upcoming events as well as sync them with their calendars. The solution provides budget management capabilities that track funds across multiple events, calculate each meeting spend and overall variable costs.

Cvent Event Management has a reporting feature, which offers built-in reports and also allows users to create customized reports. The data from all reports can also be exported. Other features offered by the tool include custom event websites, contact management, mobile websites and social sharing. Cvent offers integration with other third-party applications, which include Salesforce, Concur, Marketo and Eloqua.

Cvent Event Management Experiences

Pros

I think Cvent is potentially a good program, and it does get a lot of use in my organization. I think the people that use it regularly enjoy its functions.

Cons

However, Cvent is completely opaque for someone who is not fully immersed in its functionality. There are things that I wish to do, that I consider relatively simple, and I have not been able to perform those tasks. Whether that's due to Cvent itself or organizational constraints, I can't say, but it is incredibly frustrating.

Big, robust, and clunky

I have a love/hate relationship with Cvent. I've used several other event management tools, and can say that Cvent is the most complete of any I've tried. It is a purpose built software that serves its purpose well. However, it can be difficult to use.

Pros

There are some really nice tracking features. Unlike many other event management tools, Cvent seems to be more contact based vs. event based. This means that you can track the same people more easily through a series of events, email, and participation history. It is very robust. If you know what you are doing, you can set up an event registration with any combination of options (sessions, various attendee types and registration paths within the same event).

Cons

If you need a simple but stylish event registration, Cvent is not for you (but the price probably already told you that). They obviously recognize that the Standard registration is way to complex for the casual user and the end user interface (the person registering) looks like it was built a decade ago. To address this, Cvent has rolled out "Express" and "Flex" registration to try to simplify the process. In my opinion, these products are awful. They have tried to dumb down the software and make everything drag and drop that it is very difficult to use effectively. There is very little ability to customize the look and feel of event webpages, forms, and emails in this new system.

Cvent Does the Job

I have realized it is important to be trained. We have done more training and success groups with Cvent, which have helped tremendously.

Pros

Cvent has great customer service. I have found that all of my problems have become concerns of Cvent. They truly invest in their partners and customers.

Cons

I absolutely feel as if Cvent has a lot more down the pipeline. They are well versed in the industry but there have been others : Wix, Weebly, Wordpress who have already made similar products for small businesses.

Impressive event tool

Pros

My first exposure to CVENT was when I attended a conference that was using their tool. I was super impressed with how seamless the conference's registration process went, that I scheduled a demo myself. Once I onboarded the tool with my team we ran into several roadbumps, but in the end thought it really helped our registration process run smoother.

Cons

Thei customer service is lacking. It was very hard to get issues we ran into fixed. We are skeptical to use it again for an event because it was such a headache trying to get their help.

Pros

The process for setting up auto emails for clients to review your services is very user friendly and efficient.

Cons

The review template you receive after the client has submitted the form could be a bit more clear. It is pretty basic.

Feature rich complete package

Pros

Great Software for Event Planning

For what I have had to use it for, the system is great. I have recommended this to my colleagues.

Pros

This makes it easy to put out an RFP for events to multiple venues without the headache of searching the internet and rewriting things over and over.

Cons

Making changes to your RFP is at times complicated and sending messages to select venue is not very easy.

An end to end Process supported by seamless Technology.

As an attendee, C-Vent is seamless and engaging. As a event organizer it provides all of the capability to get ROI from the event.

Pros

C-Vent is extremely well designed from both a work flow and a marketing point of view to deliver great event experience to the attendees, presenters and sponsors.

Cons

This is a premium product with many choices for selecting features. It can be pricey if too many unnecessary features are chosen but C-vent customer support assists in getting you what you need. As a business process, prospecting for attendees and speakers is left to the organizer to undertake as well as all of the process building to elicit and foster that audience.

Not the easiest software to use for Event Inquiry

I use Cvebt to receive event leads as I am a Sales Manager in a hotel and it is a very long and daunting process to respond to any lead in Cvent. They should make it shorter, easier and more user friendly

Pros

Cvent has a lot (too many?) of features for event inquiry. It covers a lot of details that the planners might not even think about.

Cons

It could use a more user-friendly approach, with less pages, questions and boxes. A lot of the boxes are redondant and questions asked in multiple locations. Design could also be more modern

Cvent is a Must Have for Event Management

The Supplier Network saves me hours of time when it comes to researching venues and vendors.

Pros

I love that we are able to customize so much within Cvent. Flex has been a great upgrade as well. The ease and functionality of this tool helps keep my work load time efficient.

Cons

I dislike that we pay per registrant. I think it would be nice to have essentially unlimited use of this tool. Perhaps that will come in the future.
