Overall, my experience with Simpro has been very positive. It’s a powerful all-in-one platform that really helps streamline job management, from quoting through to completion and invoicing. Once you get used to how everything is structured, it becomes a central hub for running day-to-day operations efficiently. The scheduling, job tracking, and integration between different parts of the system stand out the most, saving time and improving visibility across projects. While there are a few areas that take some getting used to, the benefits definitely outweigh the drawbacks. Overall, it’s a reliable system that adds real value to managing jobs, teams, and business performance.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The user interface is very intuitive, making it easy to onboard new team members without extensive training. Job scheduling and dispatching are extremely efficient and it’s simple to assign work, track progress, and update jobs in real time. The integration between quoting, invoicing, and job management is seamless, which saves a lot of time and reduces admin errors. Reporting features are strong, giving clear insights into job costs, profitability, and overall business performance. The mobile app is a big plus for field engineers — they can update jobs, upload photos, and capture signatures on-site. Inventory management is well organised and helps keep track of stock levels accurately. Customer support is responsive and helpful when issues do come up. The system is very scalable, so it works just as well for growing businesses as it does for larger teams.

#### Cons

The PO (purchase order) system and work orders can be quite delicate. they need to be handled in very specific ways, otherwise it’s easy to throw off a job’s financial figures. Some workflows require multiple steps, which can slow things down for straightforward tasks. Occasional lag and the odd system crash can be frustrating, particularly when working on larger jobs or detailed quotes.

### Robust and comprehensive job management tool with a steep learning curve

Overall, my experience with the software has been highly positive despite a steep learning curve. It has completely streamlined how we manage our jobs, inventory, and field staff. The software is incredibly robust and capable, which makes it ideal for businesses that need to track comprehensive job costing. While it does feel overly complex and click heavy at times, the massive boost to our back office organization makes it well worth implementing.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to keeping our quoting, job management, and invoicing tied together in one single source of truth. The depth of the project management features and job costing tools makes it incredibly easy to track real time profits and expenses on larger projects. Having our asset management and inventory updates sync automatically with billing saves the office team tons of admin hours every single week.

#### Cons

The system layout can feel quite clunky and rigid when you are first learning how to navigate it. It often takes far too many clicks just to get through a simple daily task like revising an invoice or editing purchase orders. The mobile app can also be a bit delicate after updates, occasionally lagging or requiring a full reinstall to get field notes to sync properly up to the main office dashboard.

Really impressed - personally I can't see any other way of working for the foreseeable. I would recommend it to any business in a similar trade, as long as they are able to put the work in for implementation & ongoing dev.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Simpro has proven itself to be a reliable CRM system for our business. It is flexible and customisable to suit our ever-changing business workflows and now we've been going for a while we find it very easy to use.

#### Cons

Support can be lacking especially when it comes to the mobile application. The usual response it just to re-install the app.

#### Reasons for choosing Simpro

The reason was mainly due to pricing & specific business needs.

My overall experience with Simpro has been positive. It’s a comprehensive job management system that helped streamline operations, particularly in areas like scheduling, quoting, job tracking, and invoicing. The integration between field staff and office workflows was especially useful, and having everything in one place improved our efficiency and visibility

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Professional , full work force management, Tracking cost and tracking revenue for a multiple projects. very powerful tools specially for toadies

#### Cons

While Simpro is a powerful platform for job management, one of the things I liked least was its user interface, which can feel a bit clunky and unintuitive—especially for new users. It sometimes takes multiple clicks to get to common tasks, which slows down workflows. Additionally, report customisation is limited unless you have advanced skills or external tools, which can be a challenge for teams needing flexible reporting

AVOID at all costs!! This company is only after your money. The sales person had an amazing pitch and sold me on convenience and process driven application which was meant to reduce the admin staff I require, instead, I had to employ an additional staff member to work Simpro properly. First - they charged a discounted rate of approx $6000NZD for set up (our replacement software Tradify had NIL set up cost). The set up was incomplete and incompatible, it was meant to reconcile with Xero however it completely missed supplier invoices, or at best sent them across incorrectly. Invoicing was a nightmare, and could take several hours to produce a single invoice. Because they couldn't get their supplier invoice system to work properly, we were told that the only solution was for the supplier to change their invoices to suit Simpro! This defies belief, the supplier is an international company LOL. When the new staff member was employed, they wanted $750NZD for 3hours of training!! Then, for every "user" it costs $200NZD per month, and if that "user" needs the mobile app, another $50NZD for month. Upon contacting them to complain, they had no complaints policy or procedure, no escalation process and when I pushed, their only response was to talk to their lawyers! I now have to finish off my contract with them as they catch you on a minimum 12 month term even though they have failed to meet their obligations.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Their sales pitch. They came to me to do the set up. They are great marketers of their own branding...

#### Cons

Almost every aspect. The software is really only suitable for large, multisite businesses who have the budget to spend on the software and the staff to manage it.

#### Reasons for choosing Simpro

Believed the sales pitch, if were to work as it should I would have needed to spent less time on admin

#### Reasons for switching to Simpro

Looking for a more complete software, was sold on great promises.

Our experience was both frustrating and time consuming. We were sold a software program that was both not a good fit for our industry and overly complicated. We tried and tried to find solutions, but nothing worked. We requested our money back since they made the mistake in overselling it and also not really paying attention to our company needs, but no one response. They took $2300 from us and delivered nothing. The company has the worst customer service and support.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

I thought the training was okay. [sensitive content hidden] our training knew how to explain and answer questions the best he could.

#### Cons

The representative that sold us the problem, missed very important aspects of our company. Aspects that later on showed up during the training, and that no one knew or cared to handle. The software was not a good fit for our industry.

#### Reasons for choosing Simpro

Yes, we did because we thought it was better based on our three meeting with the salesperson.

### Disappointing and wasted money - HORRIBLE SUPPORT

I would not recommend Simpro to a single individual I know at this point. The run around and lack of care to resolve issues, or even address them, is astounding. I was told I would have someone from operations reach out to me by end of day (I have been trying to get help for a week), to only receive an email the following day it would be the end of the following week. Management needs to discuss how to handle the situation, not once has someone called me other than to offer me more "free" training. IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE OR ARE WANTING TO TRY SOMETHING NEW DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM. They do not care about the company they care about their numbers. You are not a person to them you are just a contract.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

The only item of value with this program would be the financial reporting. This is a program that the customer has to work for, it does not work for the customer. My implementation rep was the only person who actually seems to care and did try very hard to make this work for us.

#### Cons

1. Customer support - if you have an issue, expect 2-3 days if not weeks for a reply, good luck if it is an issue impacting your operations, you will be dead in the water. Speaking with a live person could take days, the chat is always down, and apparently the office is always closed stateside. 2. The field app is limited, does not allow for easy use between devices, information does not get saved or stored and is constantly being lost. You also cannot search for customers on the app. It is very limited for functionality, service and quoting is all that can be accessed. The time clocking also does not allow for after hours service calls to be logged and documented correctly. 3. The "block" scheduling is complicated and does not work well for service jobs that need to move between technicians. 4. Everything is "view" prohibited, if you are not in the correct view you cannot do basic functions. 5. ON BOARDING COST - you pay for basic training of the program, which they have hundreds of online videos that would do the same thing - THEY DO NOT LIFT A FINGER IN BRINING YOUR DATA OVER YOU DO EVERYTHING. When I was initially starting I TRIPPLE CONFIRMED the onboarding fee was to help bring over our old data from Service Fusions, jobs/invoices/cost etc. I was told yes they bring it all over to make us whole - this is not true. You get a template to bring your materials in and customers over BUT you do this all yourself. ALSO, I was told the forms to be able to attached to jobs and fill out were not extras, apparently its a separate app and fee entirely. SALES - The sales individual I worked with sold me lies, I was incredibly clear on what I needed and was requiring from our next software. I was told multiple things that turned out to not be true, and were confirmed by people in the organization that I was not told true items and in fact I was very clear about what I needed and had been misrepresented by they coworker. GUARANTEE - This company does not have a 30-90 day money back guarantee for a non-functioning program. I did everything they asked of me and more during implementation, my rep even confirmed I exceeded their expectations of a new role out YET, I cannot get help on getting a refund for a program I was very eager to use, but has turned out to be doing more harm to the business than good. I have done everything to make this work for us and just wanted a conversation regarding a refund and what my options are since the program really is not working for us. The lack of follow up and support from "upper management" on a so called "important and escalated" issue is disheartening.

#### Reasons for choosing Simpro

The SALES representative promised items and assurances regarding the program that we were interested in having, WHICH ended up not being true.

#### Reasons for switching to Simpro

We were wanting a stronger financial reporting program, AIA and progress billing tracking/capabilities, and a stronger more user friendly field app.

### Monopolistic and extortionate behaviour

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5

#### Pros

That it was founded in Brisbane and was once local QLD company. Unfortunately the Pro was flexibility of users (adding or subtracting licences to suit the staff fluctuations of business) but they are removing this option with minimum users and lock-in contracts.

#### Cons

Being hit with a lock-in contract option of 3-years or 5-years at an ‘expected’ 8% per annum (CPI + 5%) locked in to a minimum user quantity. The alternative option is the threat of a ‘12% (subject to change)’ per annum increase. Extortionate approach. Bought out key competitor AroFlo and now playing this monopolistic card. SimPRO claims ‘scaling together’ in the proposal, if I increased charge out rates by 8% or 12% per annum for the next 5-years we wouldn’t have any customers left, we’ll be scaling alright, scaling backwards

It started off pretty bad, they missed training meetings, each time it was a different staff member, as they had left. Support has been poor, product does get slightly improved every now and then. But generally not great. Its a shame, because it has the potential to be great. Just lacking good software developers.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

I'll come back to this. Struggling to think of anything. I suppose being on hold for 30 minutes at a time, allows for me to reflect my life choices of this software...

#### Cons

Support is poor. App requires full reinstall after every update. Regularly has bugs and work is lost. Prices have recently gone up again and there are regular outages. If you try ringing, it's usually a long wait. Support tickets are normally days, not hours for responses.

We find we are not losing job cards anymore which means we get to charge out every job that is complete. But we still have to manually check jobs that the technician may not have used the correct status. This can be a bit frustrating and time consuming. Invoicing is very easy and great to be able to delete one if it needs improvements or change the charge to customer etc. Copying jobs is another great feature and also creating recurring jobs is fantastic. Once you get the hang of it and finding little features along the way it is great. We have been using it 2 years and still finding out things but also still frustrated that problem areas that a lot of users report/request are not solved fast enough. We as users of the software, working in many different scenarios should show the developers what changes they need to make rather than what they want to add.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Great to change to Cloud Based product. Customer support is the best. Nice to be able to talk to real people and have them remote in and help with issues.

#### Cons

Not being able to keep any other modules open other than Jobs Quotes Purchase Order Receipts Invoices. It would be great to keep the People, Schedule Catalogue Invoices Utilities and Reports open in tabs at the top. I have to duplicate the pages in case I get a phone call and have to enter a new job or do a customer query otherwise I have to re-start my report, for example, all over again. simPRO is not very comfortable being duplicated. Dealing with stock is extremely difficult and transferring Work notes and Technician notes over to another job if the Electrician has written in wrong job or cost centre. Some reports are not suitable and you cannot customise a report beyond the parameters it was created from.

#### Reasons for switching to Simpro

So that we could go to a paperless system

No easy manual to follow. Have to do online training to learn how to do something or have to reach out for help. Help guides are not available for every scenario. Easier to learn MYOB than Simpro because of the lack of a look up manual of how to do something.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 4/5

- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Once set up quoting is easier. Scheduling helps with knowing where all staff are. However it is a full time job for one person just to keep everything right in simpro.

#### Cons

Not all information goes to the right place. You think receipts of goods purchased are going to jobs but are not all the time. It does not automatically update the cost price on the job so if you do not activate updates the actual cost is not recouped in invoicing

#### Reasons for choosing Simpro

The auto downloads from our supplier which do not work like we were sold on. Its not fully automated. Manually have to enter receipts and orders.

#### Reasons for switching to Simpro

Autotask was not industry related and quoting was not easy for telecommunication/electrical installs

Sorry, but this company is out for money, not the customer. We went with them because they sounded good, but after four months, we needed help to get it online. They cram train in an all-day session, and the platform was built in Australia, so the vocabulary is quite different. We decided that it wasn't for us.And This is where it gets to be a problem you have to sign up for a year contract, and even if it does not work for you, you'll pay for that year. In other words, there is no guarantee if you are not happy with it, tough luck, you'll pay for it, and way. When it talks 6 to 9 months to get the platform up and working, that is a problem, and then you have a problem with their platform, and it will not work.Their response is you have a year contract. We don't care if you can't use it. You have a contract for a year.I can only say one thing don't go with these guys there in it to make their money any way they canThere are other companies out there. Just careful

When they tell you planning and implementing is hard they are not lying. It takes lots of time investment and should be done in stages. The software offers so much and you need to figure out what matters first and slowly work into the other things.
