Wintac is an on-premise business management solution that caters to field service, installation and service contracting organizations. The key features of the solution include work order management, customer relationship management (CRM), inventory and fleet management.

At the core of Wintac is its scheduling, dispatching and work order management module. The color-coded dispatch board allows users to drag and drop appointments so that dispatchers can monitor schedules and re-assign calls if needed. Technicians in the field can access their schedule remotely through the Wintac web portal.

Wintac also offers functionality for tracking current and potential customers, creating estimates and proposals and managing accounts. Job costs can be broken out by inventory items, POs and payroll. Information can be shared on smartphones, tablets and laptops, and the system supports e-signature capture in the field. Wintac offers integration with Microsoft Office and Quickbooks.

Wintac offers a perpetual license for a one-time fee that includes support via phone and through an online knowledge base and FAQs.

    I find it easy to handle because of its simple images and its good board, it also has everything in one, including a mobile application.

    Cons

    I constantly present errors in the accounting of the program and it takes a long time to fix certain issues, it is a good application but sometimes I present problems in the database

    Wintac is a very one step at a time program that we have been using for over 20+ years. The details for customer info and products for equipment and warranties is simple and reports are easy to generate. The dispatching screen is very customizable and tech friendly. The web portal is great for tecs to use in the field to complete invoices, make proposals and even add new customers. Great for the after hours crew. Lots of value for the price. Customer service is always available to help with any issues that may occur. Great for small to mid-sized companies.

    Cons

    That the web portal has limits that cannot be changed for example address spelling changes, customer name spelling changes, and no real dashboard for viewing the work schedule, it could be a bit updated to a real dashboard view. We also could use a multiple window view feature, I believe it is in the new 2018 version this fall.

    Wintac may work well for a small company with little or no maintenance contacts to manage, otherwise I don't recommend it.

    Pros

    The software is easy to use and is inexpensive. You can dispatch, handle purchase orders and inventory, payroll and financials all in one software.

    Cons

    Wintac does not manage maintenance agreements well. Vendor purchase orders are mixed in with your customer base. There are no good reports for tracking technician performance.

    We have employees that are tech savvy and some employees who prefer not to use any technology. Wintac has proven to be user friendly no matter which employee uses it.

    I sometimes have issues merging to QuickBooks but have found out it is because someone on my end is either typing a name in a different format than QuickBooks or there is an incorrect character in the text

    It's nice to have customers color coded. It makes it pretty simple. Also it's nice to have an app so you're not always just logged on a computer.

    Cons

    It seems to have a decent amount of software issues. It seems like it crashes a decent amount, and can become slow which is irritating when talking to a customer.

    Got the company started and now we know what kind of soft wear we actually need.

    Pros

    runs fast, clicks work well, does not get typically frozen. Dispatch board was nice to look at. We liked being able to color code certain jobs. it was visually nice.

    Cons

    Not Mobile . Purchased WebPortal and that was not tablet friendly, Watch out with Customer Support because once your year is up, YOU GET ZERO HELP! even if there is a softwear issue. Then when you pay for customer support, they don't have enough staff to answer questions. Im sorry but when I have issues I want them resolved then, I don't want to wait for someone to call me back the next day or "whenever they have time" ESPECIALLY when I pay for it! The soft wear itself was somewhat useful but we only really used the Emp. Section, and Invoicing part. They inventory section was hard to use as well as the payroll and taxes section,

    I hope they charge less no more because every their update program is worst.

    Pros

    I can operate store by myself and do everything fast. I can do accounting easy. I can put invoices easy. I can generate rapiers easy. Doing taxes is easy.

    Problem with protection and a lot errors with data base. New program did not
    back me up and supposed. Now I have virus and system cannot even read me. I am afraid of loosing my data base for 8 years.

    Regret spending the money for this year's upgrade. We are having problems with customers getting random and multiple e-mails. Mysteriously a lot of paid customer receipts have now been unposted!

    Pros

    It's all in one so you don't have to use multiple software. Basic program is relatively easy to learn.

    Cons

    Wait for days for tech support to respond and then there are glitches that they can never seem to get fixed. Never been able to use dispatching board (limited as it is) or the web portal.

    The idea behind this software is great. It has a spot for me to add all the information I need to. Technicians can dial in from their iPads out in the fields. Other than that... this software just raises my blood pressure. I can't write enough bad reviews about this software.

    Cons

    Everything. Mainly the speed! I mean if you have Wintac for at least a year and your company has a good amount of business, then FORGET about ever having a fast system that runs smoothly. Wintac's new update, oh boy... I could lose my mind. FORGET about doing a search of ANYTHING! The new upgrade no longer makes that mildly accessible any longer. Now it's TWICE as slow as it was before. And the moment you search for anything, it freezes. Wintac Support's response: This is the way it is, this is new software, it searches through the entire database, it's looking through all of your files, you have to narrow down the search to very small timeframes (I'm talking less than a month), you have to narrow it down to statuses.

    It has so many quirks that they may have found solutions for but unless you pay to upgrade the program you cannot get your issues fixed. You just have to live with them. Not cool, updates are not free. I already paid for 2 users and 3 web portals. I want to add another web portal but it's very expensive and I don't want to pay them anymore money!

    Picky program is actually NOT fully integrated with QB's like it says it is. Also, when sending records over to QB's sometimes it duplicates them in QB's so there is a constant reconciling of what's in QB's, what's duplicated and what's not (didn't go over).
    Help file is horribly annoying. You can put in terms exactly the way they are titled in Wintac and it comes up with nothing. Sigh...
    You have to make sure anyone that enters anything in the program understands how this program works and keeps track of customer records especially job sites. 1 typo and you will not have an exact job history. It is really meant for large companies with the resources to pay for and train employees to use it. Small business that run 90 miles an hour cannot jump in and begin using it. It will torture you.

    Very good software and easy in most aspects and when we can use it to its full capability I feel it could be awesome and do recommend it the support is great when you have it and would not go without it again very expensive if you do not pay the extra support plan.

    we love the email and ease of contact with the customer and processing quotes and daily schedules, customer details and locations and ease of access to the data base

    Cons

    we haven't figured out a lot of it as we have had so many computer issues but I don't think the reports or maintenance schedules are very helpful and very basic. we Always tend to Have SQL issues.

    It is a very user friendly program for dispatching, and invoicing for our company and we have been using it since the beginning - we hope the next big step will also be the same.

    Pros

    We have customer records dating back over 20 years. When a customer calls, they are very impressed with our knowledge of their heating, air conditioning and water heating systems - especially those that have not had a problem in 5-10 years and we have their information on file.

    Cons

    We still have not been able to easily set up an inventory and I pay for QuickBooks in order to do payroll and accounts payable.

    There are a lot of ways the software can be customized for your specific needs. Customer service is very helpful as well in setting it up.

    It’s nice that it can be customized in many ways, but it can also be overwhelming. Customer service is nice but they are only on eastern time so it can hold up my operation as I wait till they open again.
