Pros/Cons
Pros
- I appreciate its free price tag, and it is a very user-friendly app. I definitely recommend it as the go-to application for FTP purposes.
- I can now handle projects on both my local PC and the distant server with ease. I'm also capable of maintaining appropriate synchronization between the two platforms.
- It has a simple UI, which makes it way easy to use. I like how you can rename the file names on Server as well (helps in taking backup of file before uploading the updated one).
Cons
- I feel that using this software is a waste of time and effort. The use for this is limited and it's just not necessary.
- There seems to be no arrows/icons visible to quickly upload/download the files.
- It took me a while to get rid of the junk software, scan my computer for potential threats and carry on. There was no ability to synchronize folders so changes are automatically copied over.
Pros
- The build-in addons are a huge win. From my perspecitve one of the best choices you can do as a system adminsitrator if you want to deploy a software like nextcloud.
- The interface for a free and open source app is amazing. I love the ability to customize the login screen and it integrates well with Active Directory.
- The best opensource software to store and share your files. Numerous add-ons, version 20 is very good.
Cons
- The risk for conflicting versions if using desktop client, but this may be soved in version 18 as you can locck the file while editing.
- And it is really tempting to add them. But this constitutes a weakness at the same time, because no one guarantees you that these apps will work with the next update of the software.
- What can be bad when you are in complete control over your own data.
