About Tresorit

Tresorit is an end-to-end encrypted, cloud-based file sync and sharing solution. It is designed for various industry verticals such as law, healthcare, finance, and tech businesses. It offers remote device wipe, file restore (after a ransomware attack), custom branding, file history, and 2-factor authentication. File edits and shares can be tracked in the activity wall.

Tresorit is available on desktops and mobile phones (Android, iOS). Users can set role-based access permissions to view data and share files with colleagues and partners outside the organization using password protected links. Users can also set up expiration date and an open limit for each shared link. Links opens can be tracked.

The solution is GDPR and HIPAA compliant, it’s ISO 27001 certified and member of the Trusted Cloud and the Cloud Security Alliance. Support is available via phone or knowledge base. Pricing is per month or year per user.

Pros:

Easy and powerful. Very secure. Search works. Can store anything I want. No weird one photo at a time like drop box. Super easy to share and control sharing unlike Gdrive.

Cons:

I honestly can’t think of anything I don’t like about tresorit. I’ve been waiting for this solution for over a decade. They nailed it.

Reasons for switching to Tresorit

All other services are clunky and slow, and don’t offer the flexibility Tresorit does.

I can't give any review, as it does not meet my needs.

Cons:

Customer service has been uncooperative and unwilling to understand my concerns. I was charged for a yearly subscription without receiving any prior notification, for a service that does not meet my needs. Despite reaching out promptly and attempting to escalate the issue, my efforts have been ignored.

Great software for cloud storage

Pros:

Tresorit offers a great platform for storing documents in the cloud and allowing members from our team to access documents across the office, whether they are in office or working remotely. It is very easy to use and share with other. We have had no issues with security and we trust that our information is safe in the cloud.

Cons:

It is not as popular as other cloud storage platforms and therefore sometimes we have issues integrating third party applications.

Reasons for switching to Tresorit

Tresorit was a cheaper solution for a nonprofit like ourselves. It also had a friendlier interphase.

Pros:

I love, that I can be sure on any time, that I can access all my documents and pictures where and when I want. And I'm super happy, that they are secure. Especially, when it comes to sharing the pictures with my clients.

Cons:

I would love to synchronize not only the camera roll folder on my mobile automatically. Hopefully this feature will be introduced soon.

Because it wasn't secure enough. I like to have more data safety.

It is definitely worth the money.

Pros:

Tresorit is the best and safest on the market, I think.

Cons:

But it comes with a price (it is about 10 times as expensive as Dropbox, if you reckon in terms of Gbs). And you cannot access Tresorit through Webdav, so not through external clients. The good news is that the new iOS files app does allow access.

Apache vs tresorit sync folders

I am able to manage my work on multiple computers / devices and continuously / seamlessly work on different devices without worrying about files being updated to the latest version

I can put my apache localhost folder inside the folders that tresorit syncronises and be able to use php+mysql while tresorit is running (can't do it with onedrive)

Cons:

mobile application could be little bit faster / more user friendly
