- 3 stars: 75 reviews (10%)
- 2 stars: 16 reviews (2%)
- 1 star: 9 reviews (1%)

### Most mentioned pros

- It is a powerful and reliable financial management solution that offers excellent reporting capabilities, automation, and scalability. While there is some initial complexity during setup and onboarding, the long-term benefits in efficiency, visibility, and financial control make it a valuable platform for growing organizations.
- It’s provided strong financial visibility, streamlined processes through automation, and scaled effectively as needs have grown. While there is some upfront learning and configuration, the long-term value in efficiency, accuracy, and reporting has made it a highly effective solution.
- The system provides strong visibility into financial data and supports multi-entity and multi-dimensional reporting, which is extremely valuable. While there is a learning curve at the beginning, once established, it becomes an essential tool for day-to-day accounting operations.

### Most mentioned cons

- The custom report writing fiction is Cumbersome which makes it difficult to populate the reports that our leadership needs in real time
- It does the job, but it seems pretty behind its peers (Dynamics, Acumatica, even QuickBooks) with regards to UX/UI — the way the entities are structured and screens don’t let you easily search, etc.
- Also having the audit reports limited to people with admin privileges is problematic for managers managing their audit responsibilities and creates SOD conflicts.

Sage Intacct was initially quite a hurdle tot take on as it incorporated many changes, 4 months of time to implement, and was implemented solely as the accounting platform for the CSM platform we switched too. Once we were able to truly understand the difference between those transactions entered directly in Intacct and those that were imported from the CSM software, things started to clear up. We began to truly benefit from the transparency and data breakdowns available. Sage Intacct offers endless amount of capabilities and insight into the business once you are able to dissect it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

The transparency and capability to deep dive on anything as well as clear visual of who, what, and when transactions occur based on the audit trail. The ability to print checks paying entered bills directly from the platform as going as far as able to generate year end 1099 with the click of a button.

#### Cons

Custom Report Writer - while it is exceptionally beneficial to have this capability, it is not very user friendly. There are so many additional areas or reporting we could benefit from, however the report writer is so intricate it becomes overwhelming to use.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

Legacy product was antiquated where we were looking for a more modern, cloud based platform.

I think it's the best option I've seen for construction companies that also require consolidation. Everything runs smoothly and quickly.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It is extremely reliable and very user friendly. We haven't had any issues where the software was down. All of our people have been trained to use it easily.

#### Cons

There are some links in reports that seem to not lead anywhere. When you click it, it doesn't lead to the actual transaction where you can see the details.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

Netsuite became extremely expensive, and the customer support was lacking.

### Great Tool - some quirks

Great overall experience. I would summarize Sage as more robust system than one like Quickbooks, and it matches the power of an SAP or NetSuite, for the most part. There are a few UI nuances between those higher tier solutions & more bells & whistles, but it's a great core ERP with a lot of connectivity to outside applications making it a great candidate for lots of different companies.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Sage Intacct is a great tool for those that have outgrown a starter ERP but want to minimize the cost and upkeep compared to higher tier solutions. It allows for a lot of customization, automation & clean dashboarding / reporting. Embedded with a financial planning tool, it's a really robust system.

#### Cons

It is not always the most flexible and customizable tool within it's pre-established bounds & can lead to customizations or middleware integrations. There are a few operational components that are abnormal to accounting functions, such as customer refunds.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

better controls & better interface / processing for AP

### An honest review from someone that has done it all...

- Product usage: Used daily for more than 2 years

Overall, it has a been a positive experience. Some items have a steeper learning, curve, but overall, it has been pretty positive.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I really like the rather multidimensional approach to coding transactions. It isn't just limited to just accounts and one other transaction. It has also been a very reliable bit of software, and I do appreciate that.

#### Cons

Besides the integration process, the least favorite thing is that our main banks at the time were not supported even though they are listed by Intacct as being supported. This slowed our workflow considerably until we got the hang of the system.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage Intacct

There was FAR more information available for Intacct than Netsuite. We were able to independently see why Intacct was better than Netsuite. At least for our needs.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

It was too limited for the type of grant accounting we were doing at the time.

### One of the best decisions I've ever made!!!

Our overall experience with Sage Intacct has been very positive. When we were shopping around, we also looked at Net Suite. We are SOOOOO glad that we chose Sage Intacct. One of my accountants has become quite a power user.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The Sage Intacct technicians are very knowledgeable. The system features align well with our organization. The ease of use and the online approval process is great since we have multiple office. Our accounting team is in love with Intacct.

#### Cons

We have not been able to print the budgets from Sage Intacct Planning (SIP). SIP allows for the team to enter comments. So, although SIP is uploaded into Sage Intacct, we have to drill down to get the comments, which is okay. However, it would be great if we could print the budget directly from SIP and see all the comments for one department all at once. The comments do not upload into Sage Intacct.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage Intacct

The OCR feature for A/P is what drew me in at first. Not all accounting packages had that feature at first. It works great.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

Financial Edge (pre-NXT version)didn't support our needs, even with the upgrade to NXT. We have a hybrid business and Intacct was able to support that.

### Overall, a positive experience using Sage Intacct

My overall experience with Sage Intacct is positive; using it is intuitive and the AP module is very new-learner friendly.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I like that Sage Intacct embraces AI for Accounts Payable. Being able to forward invoices/emails to Intacct cuts down on manual entry time, and the system learns how recurring invoices are coded which is also convenient. Processing payments against vendor invoices and recording charge payoffs for credit card transactions is also very simple and straight-forward.

#### Cons

The AI learning model could be improved; the coding it provides on recurring invoices doesn't fill in the allocation, and after a recent update it doesn't base the coding off of previous invoices. Instead, it splits the invoice according to the lines on the invoice which makes more work on deleting out all the extra lines, which then changes the invoice total. There is also a lack of customer service for Sage Intacct which is a pain point.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

Blackbaud limited us with what we needed to do and was clunky. It wouldn't integrate with a credit card management software.

My experience has been great overall. I like the GL and financial reports and the flexibility they have. We also like the number of dimensions allowed and how easy it is to set them up.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Ease of use for Sage Intacct is great. I really like the import templates and how you can delete non- required columns. The product is intuitive compared to other ERPs and the support staff do a great job.

#### Cons

Sometimes it seems like they try to be all things to all people and add too many features that most people don’t need.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage Intacct

Better value for money, more intuitive, better reporting options

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

Consolidations and reports were better in Sage

My overall experience with Sage Intacct has been really positive. It makes managing accounting, financial data, and reports feel much more organized. I like having everything in one place and being able to quickly find the information I need. The reporting features are especially helpful for getting a clear view of the business. It took a little time to get familiar with the system, but once I got the hang of it, things became pretty easy. Overall, Sage Intacct has made financial tasks more efficient and less stressful, and I’d definitely recommend it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Sage Intacct has been a really great accounting solution overall. It makes managing finances, reports, and everyday accounting tasks feel much more organized. I like how easy it is to access important financial information and keep everything in one place. The reporting tools are especially useful for getting a clear picture of how things are going. It can take a little time to learn all the features, but once you get comfortable with it, everything feels pretty straightforward. Overall, Sage Intacct is reliable, flexible, and a solid choice for businesses that want to simplify their accounting.

#### Cons

One downside of Sage Intacct is that it can take some time to get used to. There are a lot of features and settings, so it might feel a little overwhelming when you first start using it. Some of the customization options can also require extra effort to set up. Once you get familiar with the system, though, it becomes much easier to navigate and manage everyday accounting tasks.

Overall, we're happy with Sage Intacct. It has really improved our accounting experience after switching from Quickbooks as we moved to a multi entity/currency organization. We use a number of additional modules beyond the core subscription and they've really enhanced our processes.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

We like the user interface of Intacct and the core modules are great and easy to navigate. Because we have to integrate our Procurement, Expense and CRM systems, we like the ability to be able to integrate so many systems that we use seamlessly with the Intacct API. The various modules we use have provided a lot of efficiencies to our internal processes. The order entry module makes customer invoicing very easy to manage and post revenue.

#### Cons

Some of the reporting, while robust, is not conducive for public companies/auditors. Sometimes troubleshooting issues is hard or diving into objects that show up on audit logs is hard to back into. Also having the audit reports limited to people with admin privileges is problematic for managers managing their audit responsibilities and creates SOD conflicts. Having to use external systems for some of the core functionality causes additional expense but is necessary as our company has matured. Engineering problems take months to resolve with customer support.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

Outgrew QB and embarked into multi entity and it was hard to manage.

Generally poor. The implementation of our the contract billing system a few years ago was sub-par. The implementation team was unprepared for the project and it took substantially longer than it should have. Our contract renewal last year was mis managed by our account manager who regularly ignored our requests for a renewal quote and waited until we were close the renewal date before providing a quote. The price increase upon renewal represented an unreasonable increase in cost - way higher than the rate of inflation. The Sage team could not provide an adequate reason for the increase and generally seemed disinterested in helping us - I presume because we were not a net new account. We feel like we are not a valued customer even though we have been using the system for almost 6 years now and have increased our volumes substantially. Longer term we will be looking for opportunities to transition away from Sage due to the unreasonable price increases and poor treatment.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Online access. Ease of use. Invoicing.

#### Cons

The $ that is charged for integrations with 3rd party software platforms. We feel as though we are being taking advantage of when we are adding 3rd party systems like Avalara and potentially Snowflake to the integration - Sage benefits when we add these features as it helps improve retention rates - yet the API fees penalize our business as we grow.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage Intacct

It was supposed to be easier to implement and customer service was supposed to be stronger .

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

We outgrew quickbooks. We outgrew quickbooks.

Ease of use- it is easy to acquaint oneself, online access - important to be able to work from anywhere, customer support, bugs and issues

#### Cons

Moving from a big ERP system we had our concerns if all business processes where still in place. We are very happy with the result.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage Intacct

As we were using a Sage product, we gathered the transition to a sage product would be easier. Using the same support company was a big plus.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

A big portion of the company was sold, and we needed to look for a better fit that was cloud based.

Training was very fast and furious with very little time to try the system before it was on to the next training. I would encourage more in depth training on each piece with time to do on the system before adding another training. Reporting was part of the end of the training and it was a blur by the time I needed it. Training team is very good, just not enough of it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

East of entry into the system and being able to scan everything in one place. Payment approvals in the system.

#### Cons

Reporting is limited and hard to manipulate to get what you need. No invoice approvals in the system to assign to users to sign off to keep it paperless.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage Intacct

We thought it had the best features, the ease of transferring our data, robust reporting, invoice controls and approvals. We didn't get all the items we thought were included in the system.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

Great Plains Dynamics System is sunsetting in 2027 and we needed a system that did not require a server with more features.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

The implementation was much less painful than I expected. The software was very easy to get my team trained on as well, although they were used to a old outdated software.

#### Cons

The reporting wasn't very intuitive. Although you can build reports with the proper guidance and/or training, it does take a little bit of effort to get the reports where you want them to be.

### A good value cloud based accounting software option for growing organisations

My overall experience with Sage Intacct is a positive one. Although it took some getting used to after switching from another product, with daily use it became simple to navigate and use. I particularly like the multi-entity consolidation feature as we have operated with subsidiaries.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Sage Intacct is a good value option for organisations with a high volume of transactions. Some similar cloud-based accounting platforms can slow down once transactions reach half a million, but Sage Intacct can handle them. The updates have improved the user interface making it more user friendly and easy to use. The real-time dashboards provide impactful insights and allow you to make important decisions more quickly. Online access makes it accessible for both office-based and remote workers, whilst offering good security.

#### Cons

Sage Intacct does not have many cons for me. I do not like the search function as much as other similar software I have used. It can be difficult to follow a trial of what has happened in the system as it will only bring back a limited amount of information. A click function to deeper dive would be useful. However the ready made and customisable reports are helpful to alleviate some of this.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

Growth meant transaction volumes were higher.

Sage Intacct is a strong fit for nonprofits that need transparency, compliance, and multi-dimensional financial insight. It provides clear visibility into programs, grants, and funding sources, which helps organizations make data-driven decisions and meet reporting requirements with confidence. While the setup and training require an upfront investment, the long-term benefits—streamlined audits, reduced manual work, and stronger financial oversight—make it a valuable solution for mission-driven organizations looking to scale their impact.

Customizable dashboards give executives and program managers clear visibility into budgets, spending, and outcomes.

#### Cons

The system is powerful, but navigation and setup can feel complex for new users. Some advanced reports or workflows require help from consultants or Intacct partners.

Sage Intaact remains a useful tool for nonprofits. Should they fix their error reporting issues and a few more anomalies it will continue to be a good product.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Value for money: 2/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Sale is a powerful tool for Nonprofits. It allows multiple opportunities to record and report specific Grants. Ease of use

#### Cons

During file imports when the import has an issue, the File import error messages are pitiful. They provide no real assistance in resolving the import issue. Pricing is significantly higher than other similar products and seems excessive

#### Reasons for choosing Sage Intacct

No idea, I was not involved in the process. It was made prior to my arrival

### A Robust Financial Engine That Demands Understanding, Not Simplicity

Sage Intacct feels like transitioning from basic accounting to a comprehensive finance platform. It is designed for companies that require structure, internal controls, and visibility—not just for bookkeeping.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Tasks such as revenue recognition, recurring billing, and consolidations can be largely automated, significantly reducing manual work and errors. This is particularly important for companies experiencing growth or dealing with complexity, such as multiple subsidiaries, currencies, or entities.

#### Cons

The system can overcomplicate routine workflows, especially if you’re not deeply trained. There is a noticeable learning curve. The platform’s core strengths, such as dimensional accounting and advanced reporting, are not very intuitive at first. Teams often require training, and sometimes a dedicated administrator, before they feel comfortable, which can delay time-to-value.

I have used Sage 50 for several years prior to using Sage Intacct. I definitely prefer the additional functionality and capabilities of Sage Intacct to that of 50. I would like to see more training available to users.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Some of the most likeable pros with Sage Intacct are the cloud access anywhere without VPNs or desktop installs, the growing automation technology being offered and the potential of the dashboard capabilities.

#### Cons

There is functionality that is difficult to find or know about. Then when it is found there is typically several steps to set up access and/or turning on functionality.

I love using Sage Intacct, it's easy to use. The most I like using Sage Intacct is the A/P upload, it saves time for me a lot. and so far, it is really doing good for me. I would highly recommend it to any small or medium size company.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Easy to use at all. All the modules that we use are easy to use. The Upload for A/P is working great for me, I think with the help of AI, everything seems to be better now.

#### Cons

Certain reports you cannot filter down or modify. At the beginning of using upload for A/P, it was an issue, nothing is correct, wrong location code, department. and GL code.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage Intacct

Blackbaud is not easy to use and expensive.

Overall we like Sage Intacct very much. We are planning to have more integrations and automations setup.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5

#### Pros

We have been using Sage Intacct since 2014. We like it's a cloud based ERP. It's robust, great integration with many different programs!

#### Cons

Too robust and implementation could be costly. Often require IT developers for implementations. Wish it has more plug and Play options.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage Intacct

Not sure, the last ITO made the decision.
