In 5 years, the outputs from these analyses have helped us justify a new battalion, new ladder companies, and about 5 new stations. Ratings Breakdown 5 Ease of use 5 Value for money 5 Customer support 5 Functionality Pros: I can accurately and reliably predict and evaluate the impacts of fire department operational changes before putting those changes into effect in the real world, and the insights I get out of Code3 help us to better advocate for the department's needs. In a world where new fire companies and stations cost multiple millions of dollars, it's critical to be able to reliably predict and communicate the benefits of these decisions. I also really appreciate the ability to dig into the logic of what it's modeling and understand what it's doing and why it's doing it - a lot of other vendors make the "how it's done" so elusive that it's very difficult to validate that it's modeling what it's supposed to. Cons: There are always minor things that can be improved about any software but my "what I don't like" is limited to very minor tweaks or new ideas. With Code3 Strategist, we now have the capability to automate that system and pull our numbers with just a few clicks. On top of that, if more granular detail is needed, it's easy to get to. Being able to see not only which model is better in different situations, but also by how much, empowers the end user to make better cost/benefit comparisons. Cons: I genuinely don't know that I like anything "least". If I had to choose something, maybe it's that it can be intimidating because there are so many ways to look at the data results that it can be overwhelming. BUT, you don't have to make use of all of them, and can get a vast amounts of useful info upfront, then learn how to get more complex info on your own schedule. Reasons for switching to Code3 Strategist At the time, DECCAN required a very long process of sending off our data, having them process it, then send it back. There were many complications and limitations. Don't get me wrong, I believe their product was great at what it did for a lot of years. While that worked, it was laborious and still felt a little like guessing. With Code 3 we can model complex and layered scenarios in just a few hours.
