Fleetmatics REVEAL Software


 

Fleetmatics REVEAL is a cloud-based fleet management solution suitable for small and mid-sized companies. Users can view all drivers on a map and automatically detect their behavior such as harsh braking, quick starts, hard corning and other vehicle misuses. The solution sends real-time push alerts to notify dispatchers and supervisors of dangerous driver behavior. It provides a dynamic map view of drivers so that dispatchers are able to quote arrival time to customers.

Fleetmatics REVEAL provides mobile apps for iOS and Android devices for drivers to track their own performance through a smartphone. Once drivers log in, they can view nearby company vehicles and receive their assignment. The Today view shows them what stops are scheduled and a scorecard to see how they compare with other drivers using metrics such as the number of stops, idling and speeding. The mobile app provides turn-by-turn navigation through Google maps.

Research other vendors - We have been told ERoad is great. Don't waste your time with this company. We are actively looking for a new provider.

We love the live map feature and many of the reports - so long as everything is working properly in the system.

Cons

Customer Service is absolutely horrible. We have been with Fleetmatics for close to 4 years now. Often times, I have the solutions to the issues long before anyone at Fleetmatics does since I have been working with the product much longer than the majority of customer service. I feel like I should be on their payroll. Currently, they are refusing to reactivate a unit in our system even though THEY are the ones who made an error and swapped the unit with a different unit on their end. We have not been able to "see" this truck on our map in well over a month. We have experienced a complete lack of service, our account rep only addresses what she wants to, my emails regarding trouble tickets go answered for several days, weeks, and lately we've even had a few cases that have been opened for months. As far as calling in for help, don't waste your time. I've sat on hold for well over an hour and refuse to call them now. It's sad that this company has zero loyalty to their clients that have stuck by their side as they've grown through the past few years. As of this morning, it has taken our Safety Department an hour or better just to get the live map to come up on our computers however, every single other program we utilize is working just fine.

Pros

There really aren't any. I've yet to see what this does that others don't do cheaper and more reliably.

Cons

Constant problems with cell tower only reception, never accurate in remote locationserver. Huge time stink for my drivers trying to earn a living. Plus, I get endless complaint calls from them, I've lost 3 good drivers in six weeks.

Garbage not worth a dime

A customer service person told me they have so many problems with this product that developed a new product. They actually started over and never said a word to their PAYING CUSTOMERS that they have a better product. Verizon I really expected something better from you.
Not one thing about this product is good. It does not work correctly or consistently. One day it works and the next day it won't connect to the truck. I have 1 driver that is logged on duty Dec 12th, 2017 and on Feb 2, 2018, he is still showing violations day in and day out.

Cons

Just stay away from it. You won't be happy It will not work consistently. Customer service and tech help can't even help with issues.

Verizon REVEAL miss-represented the product and now will not let us out of the contract. Many of their competitors offer better and more reliable functionality and with no multi year contract. Would recommend researching other options before signing up with this company. RUN AWAY!!!

Cons

setting up or modifying the limits of parameters being measured is already done out of the box but changes to these are not intuitive in how it can be done. Monitored parameters display does not necessarily show the whole story of what information is trying to be conveyed and can lead to misinterpretations

Pros

We use the program to track our six trucks. It is simple to use and straight forward. The real time updates are helpful.

Cons

Occasionally the web pages don't update very quickly. I also found that it was not easy to tag locations that are used regularly. (ie employee homes and suppliers). It would be nice if you could set it up to flag whenever trucks were certain places, or when they were travelling at certain times.

I love that I can access my druver's routes from not only my desktop or laptop, but my phone, as well. Once you get the hang of how the softwate works, it's pretty easy to use and gives me the ability to offer reliable ETA's to my customers, while giving me piece of mind knowing where our fleet is at all times.

Cons

It does take some time to get used to, each truck must have it's own unit (Which is expected, however, it is something you have to remember whenever selling or buying an addition to your fleet)

Pros

Ease of use, superior support and cost made Verizon REVEAL our choice. We (Like Most Everyone else) were not happy being forced to use EDL's but it has turned out to be a valuable tool to control log book entries.

We have been completely satisfied with the performance and functionality of Verizon REVEAL.

Pros

The stability has been flawless and the ease of use has made Verizon REVEAL a "go-to" for everything from quick reference location checks to detailed driver safety and vehicle performance monitoring. The fuel card integration has enabled us to monitor fuel purchases to ensure everyone continues to abide by our fleet fuel guidelines. The driving behavior reporting has dramatically improved our fleet's driving.

Cons

We really don't have many objections to the software. Possibly the developers could provide a screen saver function to protect large TV's like we use to display content from the application.

We have been using for Verizon REVEAL for a year. It has converted us from running our business and specifically dispatching like bats. Now we can provide accurate ETAs, see if our mechanics made wrong turns and see that the time they state that they are at a location is what reality is.

Pros

It strips away the veil of our mechanics in the field guesstimating how far they are from their destination, how long they feel they have been at their destination/job site and if they are taking side trips on the company clock.
We can manage the preventative maintenance of our fleet and see how many miles each vehicle has traveled.

Cons

It does cost nearly monthly, but the value you get added for your customers and dispatch to manage instead of run their function in the business.

Advice to Others

This is like having a security system 24/7 on that which you used to be blind - what are our guys doing in the field? Where are our guys really in the field?

Verizon REVEAL customer service is one of the worse I have ever seen. Horrible with replying back to emails and also with the service itself. We've had devices that are sent to us that are not functioning correctly. Their installation department has no oversight or accountability. I have been trying to get my units installed for 6 months. Passed around several times. I requested a supervisor to call me and was completely ignored.

None when the truck shows that its been in the same place for two months and FleetMatics shows by their lack of response that they could not care any less.

Pros

The website is easy to navigate and become comfortable with. Unfortunately, they provide NO SUPPORT!

Cons

The software is ok except when the GPS stops responding and you cannot get any support from reveal to get it fixed. One stopped on February 9, 2018, and it is not April 6 and there has still been no attempt made to repair/replace. Even after tons of phone calls and emails.

Once installed, the online portal is easy to use. ELD tracking is accurate on the map and easy to use. Very self explanatory online.

Cons

Customer service is horrendous. Can't get devices in a timely manner, sales person never responds, customer service on hold is HOURS... a driver on the road called the "dedicated driver line" and waited three hours for someone to pick up. Glitches that log a driver in even when not driving and other issues. Some issues could be overlooked if customer service were responsive.

GPS tracking is the best benefit

Pros

easy to learn; App is clear to see, set up is decent.

Cons

Requires blue-tooth to connect to equipment. Turn it off and alerts you to connect even when drivers are not driving.
Cannot save trailer fleet - drivers type in every day
Driver cannot add to a previous day or Off Duty log (limited on what they can do)
Admins have more authority changing/editing the logs than drivers do
Drivers have to "sign & certify" an incorrect log before an Admin can correct it
Webex training is limited and Hosts do not know the trucking industry
App tells a driver s/he has 13 days to sign/certify a log... What?
Inspection form has only 10 items on it.
Cannot select a vehicle and complete a previous day's inspection if the vehicle is not within range
Drivers have to type in detailed mechanical issues when found before page will close
Out of Service items reported will not "red tag" the power unit in the app
Does not allow tracking or reports for of CDL/MEC expirations
On Duty sub-status has only 4 (Fueling, Inspection / Loading / Unloading) . Drivers are On Duty for other reasons (Waiting to un/load; Accident; Warehouse; Training; Office; Breakdown)
Bare bones product not worth the huge amount of money for just the GPS and ELD features. I do not recommend it.

It was good before was acquired by Verizon and it was working 99-100%, never down, I like to be able to see 24 hours all my vehicles, idling time, locations.... But lately system is more down then working

Cons

last couple month doesn't work, system is down every weekend, I think they try to save on date, customer service don't work on weekend, over week you can only leave voicemail. I have e-mailed them with problems for my GPS trucking and took them 45 days to respond and ask what is wrong.

The GPS system works fairly well and the reports are handy. The online interface is easy to use. Drivers are simple to set up, customer service is awful.

Cons

Our rep had no idea how the ELD system he was selling was going to work. After asking numerous questions about mobile device compatibility we ordered and installed 9 logbooks into our trucks. Before installation we were told that they would work with iPhone, iOS, and all Android devices. After they were installed they told us we had received ELD devices that would only work on Android. No Apple devices were compatible. We then ordered 3 Android tablets for our apple users and setup data plans for those . We still can't use all of the ELD required features because now they don't work with Android phones, only tablets! I talked all of this over with our rep before we ordered. I don't think he lied, I think he had no idea! The updated App we need for the phones is still "being developed" and we still don't have it. I can't get thru on the phone and our rep was either fired or quit. His replacement won't call us back even though we have left him countless messages and emails. This is the worst customer service I have ever received.

the only thing I like about it is the tracking. I can find my trucks with no problems however I paid for the tracking and the elds . I now pay for someone elses eld solutions and im still getting charged for theirs.

I wouldn't know because they cant make it work. I was told that the system could be used on android and IOS but it only connects to apple products and still don't work like it should.

good product but awful customer service fix your customer service and bill people correctly it would benefit you in the long run.

Cons

Be careful they will charge you before you even get the devices installed, We were waiting on additional parts for the install and we were charger for 10 days even though the devices were not installed. Equipment was returned and cancelled service found a better solutuion for half the price. and better service.

They force renewals on you with some fine print. Will not call you back, will not shut these things off, their A/R department will call to harass, but you can't get anyone else. I told them I would pay if they came today to shut them off, they refused!
