About Google Forms

Google Forms is a survey management application that helps businesses create online surveys and questionnaires to collect and organize information. Its white-label capabilities enable organizations to design personalized surveys using custom logos, images or predefined themes.

Google Forms assists professionals with creating custom Q&As, surveys, polls or pop quizzes using various question types including multiple-choice, dropdowns, linear scales or checkboxes. It lets administrators embed forms to existing websites or share them with specific clients or a target audience via email links, Google Currents, Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, the collaboration feature allows teams to simultaneously create or edit surveys.

Nice Embedable Forms Used For Event Registrations

We have used them for years. They are reliable, and a great tool, especially for being a free product. When you embed them, they are reliable to render in the web page every time. This allows for basic logic flow, allowing us to ask yes, no, other, more... questions which need logic to present the proper questions needed.

Pros

This web form is very nice for small event planning. We use it as a registration form for classes we will be having. It is nice to have the form present cleanly on a webpage, allowing the user to fill in the information required, and then submit it to a Google Doc. The ability to receive a confirmation email from a registration and also the end user receiving a confirmation with their information is very beneficial. They can then go back and edit, update, or cancel their registration at a later time.

Cons

Compared to Microsoft's Form, which is equally as feature rich, Google forms look a bit toy'ish. It would be nice to be able to customize a form to make it look a bit more professional, and less colorful and playful.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

Typeform was expensive, and we were already using Google more over Microsoft.

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

Typeform did not offer any actual features that Google Forms could not provide. They did allow for a more customized, professional looking form, but it was VERY expensive. Google's offerings work perfectly for us.

Easy to set up, but not as intuitive as I had hoped

I would use it again for some things, or if I was in a pinch, but I'll be looking for a more robust solution long-term.

Pros

First of all, it's free to use with a Google Suite account. We used it because we already had Google Suite and needed to put a system for forms together rather quickly. The process for building the initial forms was easy enough. Google forms readily recognize the type of responses that would match the question you are asking (paragraph, multiple choice, etc.). This sped up the process of constructing the form itself. I also like that the responses are automatically deposited into a Google sheets spreadsheet where I can revisit results.

Cons

Several people have told me that they clicked "submit" and yet I have no record of their submission. Also, there's nowhere that shows when the form was sent and to whom. I wish there was a record of messages sent from the form. Also, when you send the form so that it shows in the email, and the recipient fills it out in their email, it opens a new browser tab where they have to click "submit" a second time for it to actually go through. There's not a lot of built-in data sorting tools to visualize, sort, and filter results.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

We didn't have time to research other options.

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

Rock was expensive. Our organization moved away from it and is moving to other platforms.

The simplest way to create a form

In my case, I have been using this tool for a few months combined with advertising on Facebook and Instagram and the conversion of potential clients has been very good for me, since it is free and it does not matter how many people enter, also that the answers arrive directly to my email and a google spreadsheet is automatically generated with the form data

Pros

Honestly, until recently I underestimated the power of the simplicity of this tool, probably due to the aesthetic issues that are not the strong one but I have achieved a great conversion of clients due to the ease and the free system of this tool

Cons

I would say that the graphic part is what I like the least, as well as the functionalities part, where compared to other tools it has few options in terms of the questions that can be added.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

I had had previous problems with the amount of forms that could reach me per month due to the payment plans, so I decided to use the free benefits of google forms

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

In the forms.app application I found the problem that they limit the number of forms that can be signed according to the version you hire and the price of the plans I consider to be quite high, so I decided to take advantage of the free benefits of google form

Easy way to create a form

In my working place I have been using this tool for surveys and event handlings. When I wanted to organize an event and get know more about participants' preferences I use google forum since it is easy to manage and work with.

Pros

I used to use this tool for survey purposes and event handlings and this tool helped me in both scenarios very well.

Cons

I don't like the limitation of questions that can be added and the user experience. Especially the colors of the interfaces are bit annoying me.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

I had a some pricing issues with forms.app application and they limit the number of forms that can be signed according to the version we choose.

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

Since this is free from google

Google Forms is great if you don't need too much security or too many advanced features

Overall, Google Forms is the first product I try to use when I need to collect some information, whether it's for research, determining satisfaction, etc. It's the first product I recommend to students who want to collect survey data. It doesn't do everything, but for most basic data collection needs, it's the simplest, freest way to go.

Pros

Google Forms is super simple to use. It's easy to create, it's easy to distribute, it's easy to share, it's easy to collect results from. I can throw together a quality survey in under an hour and have it out with results back in another hour. The fact that you can export results to Google Sheets automatically is a huge help as well.

Cons

It's lacking some of the more advanced features that one might need for more complex data collection (e.g. flows of questions, anonymization of data, etc.). But this isn't an advertised feature, so that's okay as long as you know the limitations.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

As I mentioned, Google Forms is free (my university has a license for Qualtrics, but it takes some work to get access). It's also easy to collaborate on a survey with others, and to get and share results. Qualtrics can do all this and more of course, but it's designed to do a lot more than I usually need.

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

I still use Qualtrics for more advanced stuff, or things where I need respondent data to be super secure and anonymous, but for most things, Google Form does the trick and it's free and simple.

I don't use any other software!

I have been able to solve the problem of capturing vendor information for events through using Google Forms, plus it's free, so that's an added plus. Other forms have limits on submissions and such and I love how Google Forms lets me use the available space in my Drive folders.

Pros

Google forms has come a long way since it first began. I have been using their forms for several years now and I love how they integrate with other programs as well, they allow you to store all your information in a handy spreadsheet, which is customizable. They even allow uploads to the form now which is super great considering I often need photos from applicants.

Cons

Having a back office only section would be wonderful! The only place you can do this is on a spreadsheet, and sometimes it's nice to already have those pieces of the puzzle in place. The other option would be allowing payments to be made through the form.

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

Jotform has a limit to the amount of uploads they will take on the free version and I hit that and it really messed up the application submission process. Zoho Forms just quit working on my website and they also have limits. I feel like Google Forms is unlimited.

A Business Essential

I use Google Forms daily for queries from prospective advertisers and to gather data on my clients. It's extremely user-friendly on the front end but can be cumbersome on the back end.

Pros

Integrates easily with itself, and is a trusted platform. Easy to create forms and people intuitively understand how to use the platform, so I don't waste my time helping people extra!

Cons

The responses are given in spreadsheet format, which can be difficult to wade through or decipher. Would be great for large datasets, but can be cumbersome for my use.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

Free version of Google Forms is more functional for my purposes than the free version of JotForm.

Easy access to online forms

Google forms has more feature than the last form software that i has use. It make the process of creating a form is much more easy and efficient. Overall, this software really help me accelerating my work rate.

Pros

Creating a forms for survey or questionnaires online is really effective by Google Forms. It making the data collection from the forms is easily sorted and saved to the excel or spreadsheet software. This software also will prevent double entry data from the same user, so the data collected will be more accurate.

Cons

There are little customization that can be edited to the form. It only can add a background picture to the form and a few modification. There are no option to change the font or adding audio or video to the form.

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

There are problem in capturing the data result with Zoho Forms that i can't resolve and that making me switching to Google Forms.

Clean, usable and simple forms

I use it daily to automate client onboardings, fill lead forms, and get feedback from clients about the current projects.

Pros

Everybody has a Gmail Account, that's one of the main pros of choosing Google Forms, I can create and share forms with everybody, the system is usable, clean, and it uses material design.

Cons

It doesn't have much advanced features, but the basics are covered really well. But if you need to create something more advanced, this solution won't fit.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

The ease of access and the free plan are wonderful to collaborate with clients.

Full of Features, Intuitive Interface

We're able to set up quick forms to poll a client's team about their pain points with their current website. We're able to make a detailed, multi-page form to poll our clients' users about their branding experiences. Google Forms is really flexible and the ability to easily add section breaks makes it simple to guide users through your survey.

Pros

Anyone on my team can successfully set up a survey using Google Forms. It's a super intuitive interface, requires almost no training, and has a lot of options for question types. I love how the form responses get organized into a Google Sheet, which also makes it so easy for the team to use the data they receive. Form recipients seem to like the easy interface as well, and we have an impressive amount of response for a survey.

Cons

I wish there were more design flexibility - I'd love to be able to customize the look and feel more, make them feel more integrated with our brand, or with our clients' brand styles. No matter what we tweak, they always are clearly Google Forms, and I'd love to be able to make them feel more custom.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

Some of the features we needed -- specific question types -- were available in the free version of Google Forms, but only in the paid version of SurveyMonkey.

Used for Tracking Team Metrics

Overall experience with Google Forms has been pleasant. Its quick to create a new form, easy to check for responses, and user friendly.

Pros

We use Google to run our business, so it is nice how easily I can integrate Forms into other pages we use, like Google Sites that we use for our team portal. Our team members daily go to Google Sites to submit their metrics, feedback, and requests on team portal. I like that team metrics then populate into a Google Sheet that I can use to analyze trends and use in one on one meetings.

Cons

It's not as customizable as I would like. I use it for team metric tracking. I wish at the start team members would be able to select their name and it would then give a custom set of questions. As for the consumer side, we don't use Google Forms in our business to collect information, it doesn't look as professional as other sites like JotForm does.

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

We still use JotForm when we need to collect information from consumers. However, switched to Google Forms because it is the only one that we're able to sync into team portal through Google Sites.

Google Forms helped many Crypto investment projects

my experience with google forms started when I started crypto investment, there are different crypto projects out there each project comes through a phase that requires advertising for the new project, some projects are for announcing new Crypto coins ... they call it Airdrops .... they distribute free coins to each participant who signs up for the project and they can purchase as they like. I registered for over 32 new coins project like Minereum, coinstelegram , spheroid, .... and others, I registered for that many projects because they are good investments and I made good money from those projects, when I read about a new Airdrop or new coin project and I want to register....  the registration steps were so simple and made by Google Forms it takes no technical knowledge, all I need to do is complete the registration form, that form is straight forward not so many steps not so many pages to complete the registration,  each form I complete I get a copy from it sent to my Gmail account, I can access the form and edit any information if I want. Google Forms helped me and those investment projects to make money , and that's why so many projects and surveys are done using Google forms because they trust Google products

Pros

Pricing: Google Forms is Free to use  Features: -simple and easy: it is a newbie-friendly platform anyone without prior knowledge can create a form  and share it and collect results  -it has a good graphical design, I can add pictures, change colors, I can make sections  - Easy to export the form and share it online using Spreadsheet and Gmail - Google forms have different form models for your needs if you want to make a survey you can make a Polls model and ask the users about their options, also you can choose a multiple-choice form, you can choose text boxes if you want to make a registration forum for users to enter their info - Easy integration to Google Drive  -Companies use Google Form to make surveys about their products, Universities use Google Forms To make tests and short quizzes for their students and Crypto Projects use Google Form to make the maximum sales for their Coins

Cons

-we have a limited choice of templates -our info like my E-mail account and my name are exposed online for anyone to see if the form is exported to spreadsheets and shared online

Great for simple survey creation and deployment

We use forms for program registration and basic surveying. For these purposes Google Forms has been great. It’s a bit frustrating to not be able to easily create a confirmation email, but it hasn’t been a huge detriment. The analysis portion (“Responses”) leaves a lot to be desired, so I export responses to a google sheet every time. Otherwise it’s a nice addition to Google Drive.

Pros

Google forms are a simple and yet robust survey creation tool. There are lots of different question types, you can create sections, and there are even conditionals that will show different questions based on how participants respond. Diving a little deeper users can implement formulas to further customize questions (like including word counts). Analysis is a bit on the basic side, but you can choose to export to Google Sheets which allows you to manually analyze your data. In addition, you can add tools from the Google Drive store to further expand on the capabilities of Forms (and other Drive tools). Finally, deploying the form is easy, as is adding collaborators. The basic features of forms doesn’t include the ability to send confirmation emails, but users can add a confirmation message at the end of the survey.

Cons

Google Forms are great for simple questionnaires, but if you are a researcher or need more in-depth features, you’ll find Forms to be lacking. The analysis features leave a lot to be desired. Written responses are hard to compare because of formatting. Numerical responses only display a graph which is fine for a quick visual trend, but can’t be exported or customized in any way.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

Access to the tool and cost. Also didn’t need some of the advanced features of Survey Monkey at this time.

Best Way To Quiz Or Survey Your Employees!

Overall, Google Forms is the best product when it comes to integrating surveys and quizzes regarding topics that I need to test my employees knowledge.

Pros

The feature that I like most about Google Forms is the ability to customize the appearance of the forms with different colors, images, and the ability to make text or mathematics digital (with the use of Equatio).

Cons

The ability to convert between Microsoft Word documents and Google Docs to Google Forms needs to be made easier.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

Google Forms is better than alternative products because the surveys can be stored in Google Drive (which is easier for me to access since my team and I already use Google Drive for storing all of our files).

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

Google Forms is free.

Free Forms for anything!

I use Google Forms for everything and anything! It's perfect for sending to people to fill out surveys, as a checklist, script, etc.

Pros

I love that it is free and easy to use. It has enough features for most of my needs including response validation, required questions, and even the ability to skip to other sections based on answer provided. I wish it were a little more customizable but really it handles what I need. I have many forms that I've created for customers and for use as a check list for tasks my assistant fills out to keep nothing from falling through the cracks. I used it for scripts and accountability as well. I love that it gives you the option to auto-populate a Google sheet and it has graphs and charts too! I highly recommend using this product and think outside of the box for its MANY uses both professional and personally!

Cons

I would like the ability for more customization and more features would be nice but it covers what I need anyway. I have had some people tell me they've filled out the form I sent but sometimes it does NOT populate that I have a response from them. Its about 1 out of 15 people that happens to so something to look into! But I just have them re-do it as it may be user error, I haven't been able to tell.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

Its ease of use and that its free!

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

Survey Monkey is expensive and doesn't have many more features to make it worth the price. Its also NOT easy to use.

Simple, Easy and Smoothest way to collect data

Overall our experience has been good and it has served our purposes of data collection. The fact that we can hit the ground running in no time is what I really appreciate about this product. I would highly recommend it for users looking for Forms, Data collection tools.

Pros

Google Forms creation is super easy and fast. It takes less than 30mins to create a complex data collection form from our end users. There are wide variety of question formats available which can suit any businesses of any size ( ours is a small startup) Forms is also a free product from Google.

Cons

The export option is only CSV. I would like to have a easy way to extract data(certain fields) only instead of the entire zip of csv. Also the way the answers are rendered ( in tabs for each question, was little confusing at first)

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

After careful evaluation, I decided to choose Google Forms for the following reasons. Speed with which our internal teams can learn and create forms. This is the most critical aspect of our business. The wide variety of question formats which are mostly used by standard survey, research and data entry forms that we use. Also Google Forms is free, its best for us.

Reasons for Switching to Google Forms

I found Wufoo little complicated and the overall product seemed too over kill for a small company like ours.

Start here but don't stay here.

Google Forms can be a great solution depending on how you're looking to use it. We've used it for feedback surveys, event registrations, simple polls and more. The integrations to Google Drive, Sheets, etc. are great and really make it a compelling first stop if you need to get into the survey world.

Pros

Google Forms is a light form building software that's just right if you're getting started and don't have anything too serious to do. We are able to use it effectively as part of our organization's G Suite, but honestly find Typeform to be the more comprehensive solution for surveys and user-friendly data collection. To Google's credit, they have improved Forms since it first launched with more robust analytics options and ways to view the data you've collected. And it is a huge plus that it integrates so smoothly into our G Suite. You can easily see the data on the back end automatically saved to your Google Drive. Depending on what you're looking to do, this is a great place to start. But if you need to pursue more complex form building, don't plan to stay here forever.

Cons

There are only a handful of starting templates and customizations to make your form look different from any other Google Form out there. That has been a frustration for us, though it can be overcome by using custom designed images as headers and customizing background colors, etc. If your Form is going wrong, it may be that you didn't design it well, so you should always test the survey before sending it out. Make sure your required questions, answer options, and question types are in order and not conflicting otherwise you'll only create frustrations and headaches for your survey takers. I would say Google Forms doesn't have a ton of cons but that doesn't mean every form you build will be perfect right off the bat. But before you blame the software, check on how you're using it.

An easy to deploy form for Exams or Surveys with multitude of customization options

Google Form Helps to take real time response from my field force and customers anytime anywhere. Also it has a very light weight and straight forward UI. Having the ability to design forms in Bangla is an added advantage when your respondents are people weak in English.

Pros

I use google form from the beginning of time. It was so easy to use and it helped me to collect reports and take exam of a geographically distributed team in minutes. At the beginning we have to use so many techniques just to make it right but now it improved so much. I can take exam with auto scoring and the result will automatically transfer to a Google Sheet with a single click for analyzing the result to your hearts content. Many of you don't use it much but you can send the respondent completely a different part of the form based on his response. Especially, when your users are in a weak internet zone it is the best form tool to use as its light and fast over slow internet even if you are travelling. Thats why it is my trusted friend when I think the words collect data.

Cons

Google form is still weak and need advanced skills if you want to force your users in a certain way. Like if you want your respondent to fill up ID the right way you still have to use regular expression tools which are a bit clumsy still now. If you make a mistake there is no auto suggestion to help you out. It will give you a blank look and a confusing an error message. Trust me, decoding the error is similar to your wife's blank look. You can guess what went wrong but you have no clue how to fix it. I would request Google to share some ideas or suggestions or custom formats other people used to solve similar problems.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

Type form is a wonderful product for dealing with higher class people with its beautifully designed aesthetics. But Google Form is very good for me as my target groups are sometimes illiterate and easily understand simple mechanism of Google form. You select you submit. Moreover, Typeform charges for basic features like jumping to a specific section based on response.

Very customisable and useful in many areas

my overall experience was very good. I was able to utilise Google forms in a variety of circumstances to achieve the outcome was needed. For example initiating a meeting request room booking system, integrating the form with Google sheets that allowed a resource request page be created and that also then subsequently fed into a live Google site to show resources available and where they were deployed depending on previous actions and form requests.

Pros

Google forms is a very useful piece of software that integrates easily through the Google Hub / Drive collection of applications. My prior use was utilising it to capture information from users within the organisation which fed directly into Google sheets, which could then be analysed effectively. Adding questions and polling data is extremely simple in a drag-and-drop environment together with selection of questions and how the responses need to be displayed and collected. It was also easy to set conditional statements regarding the questions to have specific answers taking the user to a different selection of questions depending on that outcome which was most useful.

Cons

The interface is easy to use but did lack full range of polling questions that may have increased functionality in places.

Reasons for Choosing Google Forms

It was already fully integrated into the Google drive suite of applications and work well with Google sheets and other apps within their software package.

One of the best kept secrets of Google's platform

As mentioned above, I have witnessed many organizations use Google Forms for various reasons. Examples of this include: - Small non-profit used Google Forms to take and track food orders for a BBQ fundraiser event - College researchers used Google Forms to survey participants in a research study - Large non-profit used Google Forms to track convening attendees - Small non-profit used Google Forms to track volunteer sign-up, interests and availability - Small grantmaker used Google Forms to create grant application for prospective grantees Overall, all of the above were happy with their decision to use Google Forms.

Pros

One of Google Forms biggest advantages is how easy it is to set up. Any Google user is literally only a few click away from setting up and sending forms that gather contact information, RSVPs, event registrations and more. Forms can be customized and expanded to take on a variety of functions. A few examples I've witnessed include small businesses setting up order forms, small grantmakers creating grants application systems, volunteer organizations using Forms to better track volunteer interests/availability/etc. and researchers using Forms to gather information. Because it is part of Google, there is no need for additional sign up/set up, like with Survey Monkey. And, best of all, it's free to everyone!

Cons

If you're gathering a lot of information, the form can begin to get a bit cumbersome. To combat this, you have the option to create different sections or pages so it doesn't appear as one incredibly long form. In my opinion, it is also not as visually appealing as other survey and forms programs. You do have options, however, to change the color of the form, add graphics, etc. These minor critiques aside, there are not many cons about the program. Overall, it is functional, flexible, and no cost.
