# Canva User Reviews

## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.7/5
- Total reviews: 13,422

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.7/5
- Customer support: 4.4/5
- Value for money: 4.6/5
- Functionality: 4.5/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 10,315 reviews (77%)
- 4 stars: 2,720 reviews (20%)
- 3 stars: 329 reviews (2%)
- 2 stars: 26 reviews (0%)
- 1 star: 32 reviews (0%)

### Most mentioned pros

- The paid version provides access to a vast library of templates, graphics, and advanced features, which has been invaluable for both design and team collaboration. While there are some limitations, such as challenges with TIFF files, the mobile version, and occasional video editing issues, these are relatively minor compared to the benefits.
- It perfectly bridges the gap between professional graphic designers and non-designers, allowing us to quickly produce marketing materials of high quality and cleanliness. Although its speed, extensive template library, and ease of use make it a necessary tool for our day-to-day operations, it does not completely replace the advanced control of heavy-duty software like Adobe Creative Cloud for complex design work.
- It has many useful features like ready templates, drag and drop editing, background remover, resize option, and photo editing tools.

### Most mentioned cons

- The platform’s template-driven approach can make it harder to create truly unique designs, and certain features lack the precision and control you’d get from more robust tools like Adobe Creative Suite.
- Canvas boxed layers are often difficult to navigate, and any design that is created with multiple layers has no easy method of selecting the back layer if i wanted to edit or change it's shape, often having to move other layers to get to it, can become a timely task to fix.
- The software provides basic features for users who want to create advanced designs but its limitations become apparent when handling complex vector editing and detailed layer work.

Overall, my experience with Canva has been outstanding. I first started using it in high school for class projects, and it's been amazing to continue using it throughout my career. Watching Canva evolve and introduce new features over the years has been exciting, and it's clear that the platform is always improving. I recommend Canva to just about everyone. It's an incredible tool not only for business and professional projects but also for personal use. I use it regularly for my church as well, making graphics, flyers, and other materials. Canva has become a part of my daily routine, and I truly can't imagine working without it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Canva has been an invaluable tool for our small business. We use it regularly to create professional advertisements, social media graphics, and marketing materials, and its intuitive design makes it incredibly easy to use, even without extensive design experience. We've been using Canva for years, and it continues to provide exceptional value for the price. The platform is constantly evolving with new features, templates, and tools that help us create high-quality content efficiently. It's clear that Canva is committed to improving the user experience and staying current with design trends. I highly recommend Canva to any small business owner or entrepreneur looking for an affordable, user-friendly, and powerful design platform. It has been one of the best investments we've made for our business.

#### Cons

The only improvement I would suggest is making the Trash feature easier to find. Whenever I accidentally delete a design I often have trouble locating the Trash folder and usually end up searching online for instructions. A more visible or easily accessible Trash option would make recovering deleted items much more convenient and improve the overall user experience.

Canva has so many features that are useful for creative and design team members. There are endless templates to choose from, elements to add to designs, tools to enhance your photos and design, and more. It is like a more user friendly version of Photoshop and a great way for designers to get started. They even have tutorials on how to get started and use the platform. The premium version grants access to a lot more tools and is definitely worth the money. I used to also use it for minimal video editing, but have found that to be a little bit harder than graphics.

#### Cons

They have changed the video editing a little bit and I find that the changes they made, make it harder to edit videos overall.

#### Cons

What I liked least about Canva was that, while it’s great for quick and accessible design, it can feel somewhat limiting when trying to execute more advanced or highly customized creative work. The platform’s template-driven approach can make it harder to create truly unique designs, and certain features lack the precision and control you’d get from more robust tools like Adobe Creative Suite. My experience with Canva has been excellent. It has become my go-to tool for daily design needs, from creating website assets to managing freelance projects. It strikes the perfect balance between professional output and ease of use. It’s highly recommended for anyone who needs to produce polished content quickly without a steep learning curve

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The standout feature of Canva is its sheer accessibility. You don’t need to be a professional graphic designer to create high-quality visuals. The drag-and-drop interface is incredibly intuitive, and the library of pre-made templates saves hours of work, especially for social media posts and professional presentations. I particularly value the Magic Resize and Background Remover tools—they perform tasks in seconds that used to take much longer in complex software like Photoshop. It’s a lifesaver for quick turnarounds

#### Cons

While it is excellent for most tasks, it does have some limitations regarding granular customization. If you need very specific vector editing or advanced photo manipulation, you might find it a bit restrictive compared to the Adobe Creative Suite. Additionally, many of the best stock elements and premium fonts are locked behind the Pro subscription, which can be a bit pricey for students or freelancers just starting out

Canva greatly cuts the time spent producing recurring campaign assets and daily marketing collateral. I may create reusable templates that keep brand consistency across several teams rather than rebuilding same designs again. This has let me devote more time to high-impact creative strategy and bespoke design work instead of monotonous production chores, so speeding content creation and strengthening contacts with partners.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The way I manage rapid design demands has been totally transformed by using Canva. I can convert concepts into finished graphics in minutes—that's a last-minute social media campaign, presentation, or event banner. The drag-and-drop process, large asset library, and AI-assisted tools enable me to focus more on honing the creative path and less on ongoing changes.

#### Cons

Canva is not meant for highly detailed creative work; thus, I still use professional tools for sophisticated picture editing, sophisticated vector drawings, or exact typeface modifications. Sometimes big multi-element projects might seem constrained; some premium assets are only accessible with more expensive memberships. More control over advanced design options would help experienced designers even more.

As an early childhood educator, this tool has honestly changed how I prep my classroom resources. I used to spend hours just cutting and pasting physical materials together, which was such a pain. Now I design everything digitally and just print what I need. It’s pretty reasonably priced too, especially compared to buying those expensive pre-made posters. It’s become a total lifesaver for my daily routine.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I’m making worksheets, flashcards, or posters for my preschoolers just about every day. The templates are a huge time-saver, I can knock out a full week of visual aids in a single evening. The kids really go for the cartoon illustrations and bright colors, too. Plus, resizing things is super easy, I don’t need any design background to pull together nice-looking materials that the parents actually notice during pickup.

#### Cons

The free version watermarks a few templates, which doesn't look great for parent handouts. The platform also lags sometimes when I'm working from home on a slower connection. I really wish there were more Indonesian language fonts that looked a bit more playful for young learners, too. Plus, the printing dimensions don't always line up perfectly with A4 paper.

My overall experience has been excellent. Canva is an efficient, intuitive, and versatile platform that saves a lot of time for daily content creation, marketing materials, and quick visual projects. I used it for creating IG reels and has been very easy and fast.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

What I like the most is its incredible ease of use and the massive library of high-quality templates. It makes professional-looking graphic design accessible to everyone, even those with zero prior design experience.

#### Cons

What I like least is that advanced layout control and precise editing can feel limited compared to robust software like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. Some of the best assets and features are also locked behind the Pro paywall.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Canva is an amazing app for creating social media posts and YouTube thumbnails directly from a smartphone. The interface is very simple, and it offers thousands of ready-made free templates. Anyone can design professional graphics in a few minutes without any prior editing experience.

Sometimes the mobile app works a little slow when downloading heavy video files or high-quality designs. Also, many premium elements, fonts, and stock photos are locked behind the paid Pro subscription, which is a bit expensive for students and small creators.
