Being community driven alone makes this product feel so much better. And it has come a long since we first tried it a few years ago. GIMP has evolved as we've learned our way around it. Looking forward to a future with greater updates to the UI and workflow.

The fact that it can almost do everything that Photoshop can do and for no charge at all - this helped us a ton. We did not have to pay a monthly subscription that over multiple users, adds up to quite a fee. Adding functionality that isn't otherwise provided is easy thanks to a large collection of assorted extensions.

For all the features it provides, one very important feature is missing. The ability to edit and render CMYK images, without having to run through a few hoops. Since most of our work is for online use, we do not see it as a limitation. But for someone looking at print media work alone, they might have to wait a few months before the official release has this functionality baked in.

This software has all the advantages and functionalities of an image software and it is quite interesting and easy to use I like it very much

The design is a bit outdated for my taste

Overall gimp is nice to have software for designers but its a life savour for deveopers who needs lots of images to add on websites. Its best for linux system and really helpful for developers and beginners.

Even if it lacks features, I loved that I can import photoshop plugins in gimp and extends its capability. Ultimately it reolace photoshop on Linux system for high end photo editing work. Also its really easy to learn the software even if you don't have any design background.

For large file size system gets freezed or slowed down. Needs restarting several times resulting frustration. Their online version needs lots of improvements like uploading and exporting multiple formats.

Complicated and ugly interface. Hard to learn.

This tool is a very solid image editor . It ranks up there with its much more expensive competitors and delivers first rate quality work, I am very glad for the vast variety of file formats available when I save a project. I am also glad the price is so attractive I can have all my staff and vendors using the same software.

Gimp is not very intuitive to use. It's hard to figure out how to use the various tools without first viewing tutorials.

Once I got the hang of the software (took a little bit of time switching from Photoshop) I absolutely love it and have no intention of going back.

I had a tough time at first in my switch from Adobe Photoshop as the various tools and such were using different names and icons, but luckily there were plenty of resources online to use for people switching from Photoshop to GIMP. I wish the support provided by GIMP was easier to follow but like I said there are plenty of resources on the internet to help especially YouTube that provides plenty of tutorials from users

Brilliant low cost image editing solution.

This pacjkage is incredibly advanced and can do pretty much anything you need to do with images and layers

Whilst very powerfull.....This package is quoite complex to use and very difficult to get started with.

Free, easy and supports PSD files with a plugin.

Can be a little tricky to use, but with tutorials makes it easy to switch from Photoshop.

GIMP is nice to have for certian functions, and if a person can't afford their current program it will probably work as a free alternative. I used GIMP to create images with vectors for my business and for customers. I don't use it daily because I just don't like it but it is nice to have incase I need it.

Who dosen't love free stuff? This is free software and great photo editing tools are provided. Open source. Most images files will open and GIMP supports plugins. Color adjustment, bezier curves, noise reduction, filters, gradients, vector images and customisable brushes are provided. Resize without losing quality. The GIMP community forum can help you if you get stuck or lost.

Ironically for software in the creative field, GIMP dosent look very nice. It's outdated and ugly to he honest. The way GIMP operates is just very foreign to me and I don't like it. Everything is backwards from where it usually is.

My experience with GIMP had to be discontinued due to difficulty adapting to its commands and tool icons.

The best thing about it is the fact that it's a free application that has the famous image editing functions present in the well-known applications of its competitors.

What hinders the most in GIMP is the difficulty of identifying the tools in CAD. Keyboard commands are also quite different. A good suggestion would be to provide users with a preferences panel to switch between CTRL and SHIFT keys anyway.

We use GIMP to create high quality banners for company and scheme promotion.

Can edit almost format of the images while ensuring quality remains high. The application is available on all leading platforms including windows, macos, linus and even on Android. Cross platform compatibility allows image conversion in any format. The app provide total authoring of the images for annotation and professional photo editing.

This software is not as advanced as photo shop although it is cheaper. As the application is completely free, support and development is extremely poor and inaccessible at times. Not goof for professional editors but excellent for minor tasks.

Great experience overall

Everything. There are so many uses with this application. 2d image editing, pixelation, drawing. Creating textures for 3d modeling. Blender 3d integration.

Nothing bad really. My only complaint is why isn't it integrated on every device?

This product is similar to Adobe Photoshop. Photo Editing is so easy. Its free to use. We don't have to pay for it.

Its not Blind User Friendly. A blind user can not access the bassic features of the software for E.G., to resize an image, etc.

GIMP is a pleasant, easy to use and most of all free!

I have been using GIMP for over 5 years. It's a true alternative to commercial image editors. It is quite easy to use and follows the interfaces of other popular image editors. It is able to produce images for web and other digital media. It has much of the same color palettes and filters available in other software.

The only major drawback I see is the lack of CMYK support. Those needing to work with the print industry will have to look elsewhere. While there is no customer support the GIMP forum offers many solutions from other users and experts.
