GIMP is easy to use and integrate into your business as an alternative to Photoshop for certain media projects.

The toolboxes are not integrated into the main window; this makes it difficult to visualize the image to work.

Its interface is ugly and I swear, I don't know how people can manage to do some decent work with this program.

What I enjoy most about Gimp is how easy it was to use. Everything was easy to figure out and worked like a charm.

In terms of drawing tools, it is very minimalist to the point where buying a tablet that senses the difference in pressure applied on the screen is useless.

GIMP is very good, easy to use, standard brushes are really cool, and in addition to drawings it is also great for making photo edits, of similar quality to mainstream image manipulation software.

Another weakness I find is poor text handling. The method of adding and editing text is complicated and unclear; especially when compared to most of today's image editors, both free and paid.

What I liked most is it costs nothing unlike another popular photo editing software. Pretty similar tools and great for new designers.

Gimp is the go-to solution if you can't afford other apps in this field that are super expensive. It has great features and it's super easy to use.

It has a ton of features, and it's like having PhotoShop but without the cost. It's fun to use, and easy to learn.

My experience with GIMP is really nice because I have designed a lot of my business graphics using this software. I really love GIMP and I am satisfied with my designing performance now.

GIMP can be very slow in processing some images and doing transformations on it, so sometimes you have to wait a couple of minutes for a blurring only for the software to crash.

As a design expert first, I find that the icon of GIMP is beautiful and it is fun and easy to use the application.

The ease of use is just fantastic, along with that the size it takes is very less compared to the other softwares of its kind.

Its functions allow for a wide range of designs and customisations to fit certain colour themes and integrates nicely with our thumbnails on video.

The most I like about this is the price, the other things is the huge amount of things you can do with it, it is great value for money.

The floating windows are unintuitive and the entire user experience suffers for it. Learning your way around the horrible user interface takes time, energy, and most of all thick nerves.

This has a TON of features, especially for a free program. It's an excellent alternative to the other popular (and much more expensive) photo manipulation suite.

Other than that the features which I really appreciate about it is frequent update cycles,huge community and options of adding plugins and scripts ( many users donate it for free for other users).

It does lack some qualitites that Adobe Photoshop has, and when you get to the point in a project where it's lacking, it's quite a bummer.

The one of the greatest thing about GIMP it is completely free tool. It provides powerful features and a nice interface.

Excellent, for what it is, GIMP is a great platform and a really good starting point for anyone wanting to try photoshop but can't afford it.

It's ease of use made it the industry standard back in the day, but it's been eclipsed by Adobe and the excellent integration of their multiple software products.

I used this software regularly at my previous job, and really enjoyed it. I was able to create beautiful advertisements for print, fairly easily.

There is also an online community behind this software that is wonderful and can usually get you where you want to go if you need help.

It has been outshone by Adobe InDesign and is no longer the industry standard.

My overall experience with QuarkXPress is quite poor, with problems opening new image file formats. However we need this software to use old layouts.

If we need to open their native file then we use it. I honestly cannot say there is anything I like most.

When I first got this software the registration process was laborious and the customer support was terrible.

Quark is absolutely fantastic for multipage spread layouts or any multipage project that requires standard margins, guides, templates etc.

I had no instructions, just the box and the computer. My boss had traded it from a design company that owned him money.

You can control layout of virtually anything you want to print or publish on paper/screen/web etc.

And customer service always has been truly top notch, something that is increasingly rare these days.

Integrates well with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Love that you can create digital and interactive files.

Frequent updates which make the products even more so wonderful.

User interface hides itself when window is out of focus for no reason, infuriating when trying to follow a tutorial in a web browser.

Some nice features, but lacking many. Rickety user experience.

Great solution for publishing marketing pieces that will be viewed on PDF, but works equally good for web based or printed.

When I began using Quark roughly 15 years ago, I would so anything to try to avoid it.

I use this at home as a personal user. It is useful for some things , and can create nice imaging with good layout and details.

So, I went out on my own, and never looked back. Here we are Quark 2019, 30 years later, not quite so simple to use, but still the best typesetting software available.

Quark not being a subscription based media creation software is the bee's knees. And the ability and power of all the software can do for the price is pretty great.

The second best feature of quark is the powerful xtentions that exist out there on the market.

QuarkXPress is very easy to use if you have used Adobe InDesign or CorelDraw. The user interface has a good flow and everything can be spreadout with multiple monitors.

Very good for text formatting, easy to use, especially when formatting books and larger texts.
