Using Irfan View
I use Irfan View as my screen image capture tool of choice, allowing me to setup windows just as I need them and then capture the layout perfectly. I can then edit the captured images, adding text and callouts, highlighting areas with boxes and annotations, and then scale and save each image in one of a myriad of file formats. I have never found a bitmap file type that this program does not support. It also has a great batch processor that can convert, re-size, rotate and generally manipulate the images in a number of really useful ways.
PROSThe screen capture capability of this program is truly awesome, with so many different types of capture available.
CONSThe out of the box functionality allows you to step through all of the images in a folder displaying each one in sequence using the pc's arrow keys, however when the last image has been displayed if the arrow key is depressed again the program kind of falls off the end and there is no easy way of getting back to where you were. There needs to be a warning that you are on the last image in the folder and there are no more images to view.

Way easier than Photoshop
It's an awsome product, simple to use and Free so whats's not to love! I think everyone can use this product and love it the way I do.
PROSI was referred by a friend after fighting to understand Photoshop. This is SOOOOO easy my 8 y/o grandson uses it often also. I've used Irfanview as a photo editor for at least 10 years now and ZERO complaints. Did I mention it was FREE. I recommend this app to ppl all the time.
CONSNONE noted. I cannot think of anything I don't like about Irfanview. It literally does everything I want out of a photo editor by simply clicking buttons.
Reasons for switching to IrfanView
Photoshop was way too complicated for me...I just needed a simple to use phot editor and once I learned about Irfanview I abandoned Photoshop and other programs I was spending hours trying to figure out. I opened the program and it was pretty self explanatory with lots of cool features to use.

THE image editor for Windows
All the power I need and more, and the price is awesome!
PROSFully functional image editing. I've used Irfanview on literally dozens of PCs and deployed it for my companies and my home school. It has functions I've only scratched the surface of and capability to handle all the images and figure out and open some corrupt files that other image viewers & editors cannot "see". The thumbnail feature is an awesome way to find that needle in a haystack, and the batch converter is an invaluable asset for cross-platform image display such as web development.
CONSThere are so many features and capabilities that there is a bit of a learning curve to get into the swing of basic operations, and operating is menu-driven - while you get to see image updates as you apply filters and effects, finding and applying those things means finding them in textual menus.
Reason for choosing IrfanView
Lower cost. Far, far lower cost. After learning how Adobe/Oracle farms me and uses and sells my information, I am truly glad I've gotten away from their products.
Reasons for switching to IrfanView
So much more capability and, feature-for-feature, more user-friendly.

I use IrfanView based on an image viewer. So when I want to quickly see images on my pc especially i
I have been working with this program for several years as an image viewer. Using it I don't need to depend on the windows viewer or Bridge in Photoshop. The best benefit is the preview of images, and the effects browser that quickly shows how the photos will look, that is, the final result of the edited photo and also the feature of including slideshow.
PROSFirst I would like to highlight the best feature: the speed with which the images are opened and displayed on the PC. Its usability is good in the image sample requirement. It integrates very easily into my flow work, because I need to visualize images quickly and this software does that, helping me to find photos and follows up on image editing.
CONSOne of the features I wish was easier is editing images using the palette in photo editing. Even to insert texts I found it difficult to use compared to others programs on the market. The usage navigation I find a little complicated because the effects paths We have to search carefully to find it. But even so, it integrates very well because it is fast and It has time-saving image effects.
Reason for choosing IrfanView
It is a lightweight program that fulfills the purpose of Image Preview and other features involved in image editing.
