Good software for non domain devices

As IT Support analyst helping users by connecting to their machines when our own remote tool does not work.

Pros

Can be used on any machine that it's connected to internet.

Cons

Users have to install and they are scarred. Also hard to tell them over the phone full path.

Great Product and Easy to Use

Remote access to a Point of Sale System so line level staffers do not have to enter secured data center. Has enabled me to take a ton of security concerns off of my plate.

Pros

It is very simple for end users to navigate.

Cons

I really don't dislike anything about the program.

Solid Remote Support Tool

Solid. Truthfully, it's our 3rd tier support solution, but it works reliably and quickly.

Pros

It's an easy solution to use and implement.

Cons

It's not easy to nest computers for remote access easily, and the featureset is a little limited.

Screen sharing software that works great.

Our software is for repair shops. Many of these folks are not familiar with computers, so ConnectWise lets us not only do tech support easily, but it helps when we're doing sales, we can walk a potential customer through the program on their computer.

Pros

I like that I can not only share our customers screens, but I can see all of their screens at once, or one at a time. And for us being a software company, it is nice to be able to upload and download files by using windows explorer.

Once our customers have connected, they really like us being able to get on their computer and work with them. This makes our company look very good for support.

Cons

Sometimes it is hard for some people to figure out how to download then run the little program from ConnectWise. Most of this is due to our customers being completely unaware of how to download and run a program. It would be nice if we could ship a program with our software that would let our customers connect instantly.

Great set of tools

I think it's fantastic. Given how far apart the places I support are, it really cuts down on the drive time. The more I use it, the more systems I install it on.

Pros

Screenconnect is really simple to set up and manage. There's several different tools all bundled together for managing systems remotely and if you're doing any kind of support you should really consider this product. I've used some of the other ones out there and they all seem cumbersome in comparison.

Cons

File transfer can sometimes not be quite as smooth as I'd prefer.

Love this software!

Pros

I love the features and how easy it is to use.

Cons

It would be nice if the portion of the software that allows you to send commands to a client were upgraded to PowerShell. Other than that, I'm very happy with the software.

Great software with lots of functionality

Pros

I love the ease of getting the client's connected. The broad range of devices that can be connected to. I've used several alternate products and I think this is a clear industry leader!

Cons

There are two connections that can be Connectwise Connect, the Automate integrated and the Stand-alone and we use both. They use the same software, but are independent of each other and they will occasionally prompt for updates in the stand alone, but can't update because of the Automate integrated version. Kind of a pain, but really it's just an annoyance.

Best of Breed Remote Control Solution

ConnectWise Control allowed us to convert from another IT connectivity tool and not only increase our technicians' efficiency, but also save money from our bottom line.

Pros

It is always quick to connect, allows for great flexibility and the feature set is unmatched.

Cons

Sometimes the pop-out windows for tools or plugins are clunky to use, but this is purely aesthetic and doesn't detract from the features themselves.

ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect) - excellent product, new licensing scheme not so great

Excellent remote control utility. Used for Ad-Hoc Remote Control and also agent-based so we can get unattended access to the machine (used for servers). No limits on the number of devices we can install this agent to (at least on our licensing model anyway). Works pretty much every time with a slick remote control experience where other products are stuttery and slow.

Pros

Simple, fast, efficient remote control and file transfer. Works on multiple platforms, both Host and Guest. I wouldn't change this unless I really had to - like my licensing got upgraded to the new model perhaps.

Cons

The new licensing model. I purchased it when it was still ScreenConnect and I'm on a legacy licensing contract. So far this has been maintained for me at renewal, but when I'm forced onto the new licensing model at some point in the future it'll be MUCH more expensive for me. At that point I'll look around at the competition.

Old licensing plan worked great. New one is difficult to justify.

Was great. Glad we got in before they screwed with all the licensing to make it much more expensive.

Pros

Easy to use once it is setup. Works well for the most part.

Cons

Licensing fee changes. They made it very hard to justify the new costs.

Connectwise Control

This is a great tool for one off technical support as well as to have a few agents for servers and frequent customers/partners.

Pros

I like the ease of use and that it will work with MAC's and PC's.

Cons

I wish there was a port forwarding function from remote computer to local machine.

ConnectWise Control Makes My Day

ConnectWise Control has made it so that I can instantly check the status of all machines that are supposed to be up and running in my company. In addition I can provide real time support to users that demand assistance at all hours of the day or night, even remote users. ConnectWise Control has made my day to day activities, my work, and my life much simpler! Thank you ConnectWise Control!

Pros

This software is easy to install, lightweight on the client, and makes it so my entire team can access and support local and remote customers with ease.

Cons

The options in the interface are somewhat complicated to understand, however with the excellent support and a few internet searches we can do anything that this software has to offer.
