Alora Home Health software

For home health agencies of all sizes looking to increase operational efficiency and staff productivity, Alora Healthcare Systems combines all of the functions of a successful business into a single solution. From billing to scheduling, HR functions to point of care, the solution was designed to be extremely user-friendly. Its design requires a minimum of training and can be configured and set up in a few hours.

Designed specifically for home care, Alora Healthcare Systems offers both on-premise and web-based deployment. The web-based option allows users to access the solution from a PC, tablet, iPad or smartphone. The onsite installation gives users the ability to access the software offline while at the patient's home and then sync this data with the main office later.

Alora provides several features such as generating 485s and 487s and tracking those 485s that are due for re-certification. The scheduling feature allows users to schedule and track visits. There's a recurrence option to create multiple visits from one entry and completed visits automatically flow into billing and payroll. There are also optional OASIS, point of care clinical documents and paperless records features, offering a complete software solution for growing home health agencies.

The Alora billing module generates both the electronic claim files and the UB-04 and CMS-1500 paper claim forms. It can also generate Private Pay invoices and posts charges to A/R during this claim generation. It comes with a full list of ICD9 codes with new codes added through regular software updates.

Supported Operating System(s):
Windows 7 , Windows Vista , Windows XP , Mac OS , Linux , Web browser (OS agnostic)

    Pros

Customer Support representatives have become my new best friends. As we are on a first name basis thus far. The customer support team, is always there in my time of need, and I can not thank them enough : )

    Cons

To many icons and very confusing to go from one step to another.
Must pay for an internet access box OR this software does not work. When I was told by the sales rep' that this would not be an issue if I had drop-box. Not true.
Most of my clients are elderly and do not have internet. Or the area that does not have internet access.

I am very please with the technical support that the Alora Team delivers. They are usually able to resolve most issues with one phone call. We have used several home care software platforms and Alora meets most of our needs.

    Pros

Almost everything I want is already in the software. I am still uncovering functions that I can use, so we are constantly surprised at how intuitive the software has been.

    Cons

We have had the software for several years and now we will have to leave the Classic platform and operate in Alora Plus. This is not a huge issue as most of the functions are the same. It will just be a matter of learning to navigate in the new platform.

You've got a great support team who always have been able to help, eitheir they know the answer or don't!

    Pros

I think this software is esay to use. It's the inly software for home care I've used as I'm new to the industry, and pretty fast I was able to handle myself in it.

    Cons

The introduction of Alora Plus hasn't been very smooth. There are some functions, specially reports which don't work in Plus or Classic. Also the interface, for certain things I prefer Classic and for others I prefer Plus.

Customer service has always been on point and continues the same quality of service no matter how many times you contact them. 9:10 your problem is solved or there is a followup resolution expedited whether quickly.

I would also like to see more features with Supervisory visit tracking (QA) and option to run multiple QA document type and status at one time. A request that was already discussed but note officially ticketed as feature upgrade. Also, enable more stricter and user friendly way that prohibits scheduling what is not authorized.

    Pros

Fax ability, electronic nurses assessments. Lots of hard work updating and creating new features for compliance with New CMS CoP's!! Love the new POC Plus. Billing module, schedule module, etc...Perks!!

    Cons

Carry over feature for skilled nurse visits when there are multiple nurses on the case. Other nurse's systems review boxes are carried over, interventions are carried over, general notes are carried over....
These are from another nurse's assessment and should not be part of the "carry over feature".
Should have a choice to only carry over a particular user's last note, not just the last note in the system. So carry over feature should only populate from that specific user ID's last note.

    Pros

This system can be very easy to use and train others. I do everything from clinical to billing and it’s pretty easy.

    Cons

I hope they are not growing too fast that my needs and requests sit on the back burner. I’ve seemed to get slower responses from Alora when I really need the changes complete or things to work right. Otherwise I’m the one putting in more work.

    Cons

My boss seems to have an issue getting things fixed that are causing us issues. We don’t have to deal with “tickets” but maybe we should if the wait time to get things corrected take a long time.

All in all great software. I would highly recommend this to any Home Health Agency.

    Pros

Easy to learn, navigate and use. Stores all the information that you could need for patients and employees. Very user friendly!

    Cons

Runs slow from time to time. Freezes up on occasion. Could use more search features, more ways to search for employees, (i.e. search by city).

Alora is easy to understand; easy to use for the most part. It is convenient to have all contacts and information in one place.

Alora Plus still has a few minuses

    Ease-of-use
    Functionality
    Quality
    Support

Limited number of electronic fax pages that can be sent on a monthly basis (100), is not good for larger companies trying to be paperless.

    Pros

The dashboard is quite comprehensive. The ability to customize to each employees' needs. Schedules are easy to create and read.

    Cons

The client demographic information and the admission data being split into 2 different areas makes it difficult to navigate between the two. While the 485 is created based off the completed Oasis assessment, it is not generated automatically, so you have to go back and manually click through to complete the 485 and fax out.
