Built for home health care
For home health care this is one of the most specialized available. My organization used it for years. I'm able to better supervise using Alora and I'm glad that we used it. If the problems are fixed Alora would be the perfect home health care software.
PROSAlora was created for home health care agencies and is designed to help manage operations smoothly. Stay compliant and manage documentation for all employees including those who provide non medical services like personal care or home care. The biggest help is that visit notes are automatically added, other software tends not to include visit notes and it's harder to schedule repeat or daily. Billing is easy even to medicare or medicaid, and Alora helps cut down on paper forms and records. The customer support team is very friendly and answered all of my questions on the spot.
CONSAlora has had problems and holes in the software for years and those were never fixed or improved. The medicine list is not complete and dosen't list other names that would make searching for the medicine easier. It has abruptly stopped working and we have temporarily lost data but it was restored. A well structured selection panel for easier access would make Alora better too.

PROSThe Alora's Team works like a fine tuned machine...To keep your Healthcare finances flowing with ease.If there is an issue with recovery of payments ,Alora walks with you hand in hand through the process of recovery.Alora educates you on the use of the software to better enable you as a Provider to stay on top of your claims and billing process . Alora the price is right and the customer service assistance is what helps me sleep at night knowing Alora is just a call away .
CONSHad an issue once with my invoice but after a talk with the Dpt. manager issue was corrected and all cleared up.

Alora is non-interactive
We do not like this product at all. We do not feel that the program is intuitive. Support is poor and not timely.
CONSThe product is set up by task, instead of set up by client chart. The point of care tablet use is frustrating and time consuming. To chart on a nursing note, or any type of form, put the client name in, choose the correct client. If a medication needs to be added, close the nursing note, choose the med profile, type in client name, choose the client, add the med. Close the med, go back to nursing notes, type the client name ... and so on. If the schedule is set up for a Monday, and you go into that visit and change the visit to Tuesday, the schedule does not update. You have to physically move the visit. Reports are poor. We recently had a CHAPS survey and they wanted to see the Transfer Summary for a patient hospitalized. No such thing in this software. When you call support, they rarely pick up the phone. Even though the issue is usually a question for IT, they will not let you speak with IT. They give IT the message and get back to you.

Alora is the best
Billing made a lot easier with ALORA.
PROSSwitching from Axxess to Alora is very easy. Staff of Alora is very knowledgable in what they do.
CONSSome of the features of the software like carrying over the therapy notes from OASIS to POC doesn't work and PT visit notes doesn't carryover to the next PT visit notes.

Alora has been a great choice for us.
Overall, we are very pleased with our choice of Alora. Software has brought efficiency of tasks, as well as increased our billing revenues with less rejected/incorrect billing claims with approved/correct codes checked and validated before billing. It did not take us long to see benefits of Alora that we were not expecting when looking to change, in other words, it did not only meet our expectations, but surpassed them.
PROSEase of software, an all-in-one system. Helped us be compliant with the EVV requirement with the state. Billing validation.
CONSWe really have not experienced any negative with Alora and have absolutely no regrets.

Easy to use and all in one place!
Alora has helped our agency grow; it allows us to use for our Home Health patients as well as our Home Care clients. It is easily grasped by staff, whether you or old, technically savvy or not, they usually pick up quickly.
PROSI love that everything is in the same place, you can find information for your staff as well as your clients/patients. Very easy to use once you get used to it.
CONSWhen there is a connection problem or lagging in the scheduling which I have noticed lately when filling in a lot of appointments.

Alora is the best product for small businesses to large businesses.
We started this system in the early stages of building our business. We have found that it is easy to use, not killing our bank account, and easily expands as our company grows. The customer service is very friendly, and works diligently to solve all issues.
PROSAlora provides a great product. The medical records are easy to access, easy to use, and the customer service is spectacular.
CONSI don't have any negative issues at this time.

An Example of Going Beyond
With the screens that I work with daily (not on the clinical side), I like the ease of having almost all the options on the admission screen to where I can go from one screen to the next and still be within the patient's file. I have the ability to write emails within the software and create a separate folder within the mail to store those. I like it when Alora "predicts" or anticipates my date range, etc., does spell ck (wish all screens had that), F5 capability (again wish more screens had that), bringing over data from previous admission on a re-admit (still bug on med profile being addressed/rolled out), and of course....last but not least the customer service is so helpful.
CONSThe lag time in enhancements, the process of how enhancements & possible bugs are fixed based on how many customers have expressed concern over that same issue, & lack of flexibility within some screens. See some of the items mentioned in the first question.

Mostly Good!
Easy to use and set-up is nice. I that thing carry over from one chart to the next or one note to the next.
CONSThat sometimes it runs slow or boots up off. But you can usually log back on and start where you left off. Sometimes it takes more than one try to upload something into EHR.

Alora Love
We love it. We're glad we switched while we were small because switching now would be a ton of work.
PROSWe initially looked into Alora so we could switch from paper charting to computer charting. I chose it because I like the way the nurse note is organized. We were also happy to be able to have patient files, employee files, scheduling and billing all in one place.
CONSThe admission assessment is 35 pages long.

Excellent program from an excellent company
I recommend Alora.
PROSAlora Home Health Care is our primary business software. We use it for all functions related to the business including scheduling, HIPAA compliant patient and caregiver information storage, administrative level tracking of employees via a convenient telephony system, and company financial electronic paper trails. Alora is the soul of our agency and without it, we would be lost.
CONSThe customer service department is not always easy to reach but when you get someone on the phone, or someone calls you back, you feel like you are very special to them. They take your problems very seriously and they know what they are doing.

We are a home health care agency that was operating manually. We had no systems for scheduling, payroll, billing, reports, etc. We have been working with Alora for a little over a year. Training was delivered to meet our needs. With the implementation of each module, we were able to pace ourselves and receive training when we were ready to utilize Alora's features. I have always been pleased with their customer service. But, over the past few months especially, I have received nothing but kindness, patience, and very knowledgeable advice and assistance from the representatives at Alora. They went the extra mile to conference in with a clearing house with whom we unfortunately were having conflicting software issues; they spoke to me nearly every day working through denials, as well as many emails. I come into contact with a diverse group of people. My job requires me to do lots of business via phone. I have come into contact with rude, demeaning, and just darn nasty people. When trying to explain what the nature of your call is about, some people just don't listen. At Alora, the reps have always listened to us and will paraphrase to make sure they fully understand your needs. They are very patient and never rush, or speak over you. I just love Alora and look forward to working many years with them.
