HealthCare Assistant is an on-premise home health solution for small, midsize and large home health agencies. Primary features include Point of Care, OBQI, HR (with payroll), scheduling and accounting. It allows agencies to bill Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance, hospice and outpatient therapy.
Users can scan paper documents directly into the solution, manual data entry is eliminated. HealthCare Synergy offers configurable modules that can be added as the needs of the business evolve and users can pay for the features they need.
HealthCare Synergy also offers a cloud-based solution. Synergy in the Cloud provides data security and eliminates the need for an IT infrastructure and hardware maintenance.

Used this software for years and it's great for data in and data out but must be fully managed by office staff. No automated features. Very basic software. Does not support a lot of features needed to make home health efficient.
Very basic, no automated features, local program, not web-based, cannot use in the field. Only tracks manual processes if kept up with by office staff.

I love that its affordable and you are able to find the program easily and install it quickly on your computer. I like how it will give you step by step instructions and that if you have problems it is easily fixed with great support
There is nothing really to dislike about this application except the fact that it takes sometime to get a hang of it in the beginning.

Healthcare Assistant is like an old school version of electronic charting. The software is stuck in early 21st century style rendering it not very user friendly. The overall quality is basic and it lacks so many options and easy navigation that modern electronic medical record software offers. The version I use requires you to have the program downloaded to your computer so you can open it, unlike online software that is accessible from any device, anywhere. Needless to say, it's now only used by office staff and mainly for the billing functionality. Customer support isn't the best. You call and get an automated system, eventually, you get a ticket number and they will get back to you at their earliest convenience, not when you urgently need it. I'm giving the features and functionality more stars because I know they offer more features than my agency actually uses but for an extra fee of course. I'm really not sure why this software hasn't improved but it's great for those who are used to it.
I can't say there is anything I like most.
It isn't user friendly.

Thank you for your review. I checked your account and your agency is on our legacy version of our software. We have had a new Web version with a full clinical front end EMR available for over 2 years now and have encouraged most all of our client to migrate to either our cloud version or our web version.
Both of these versions will allow you to access your data from most devices with an internet connection. Our web version has a lot of new features and improvements that I'm sure you will be happy with. In addition, migration is easy as both the Web and Cloud versions use exactly the same database and no conversion or re-entry of data is necessary.
