About Hummingbird


Hummingbird is a web-based billing and clinical EMR for hospice and palliative care agencies. Its user-friendly design, workflow and smart automations save time and costs while staying compliant, reducing errors, and elevating quality patient care at the bedside. Designed for true interdisciplinary use, Hummingbird makes collaboration easy for the entire clinical team (nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, bereavement coordinators, medical directors, nurse practitioners and volunteers).

Additional modules that can be added are custom drag-and-drop reporting with a built-in business intelligence database, e-prescribing, and automatic tracking of billing claims statuses (without logging into DDE) pulled directly into the AR. It interfaces directly with many national PBMs, DMEs and CRMs. Hummingbird is compatible with all major operating systems, which allows for instant updates and flexible devices, from laptops to tablets and smartphones.

Hummingbird was developed by mumms Software, who have been focused entirely on hospice for over 30 years, with staff that have spent their careers in end-of-life care. The software was built with direct input from practicing hospice nurses and administrators.

Good and supportive

When our clinician has any issues with software, it's easy to contact them. They create a ticket and follow up with updates until it's solved. They also share the issues with the clinical manager, so the management team know what has been going on. They also have the account manager and check with provider periodically to make sure things are going okay. It has been great with Hummingbird.

Pros

We have used Hummingbird from the start-up. They have been very supportive. As you can imagine, I had so many questions to ask since I was in charge of setting up the hospice program in our agency. The Hummingbird team members, including the liaison, marketing assistant, and technicians, responded to me promptly and provided resources.

Cons

Previously, it wasn't a web based software. But now they are. I'm happy about it.

comprehensive hospice software

Pros

hummingbird is a total package, census, billing, charts, reports, all in one, the works to operate a hospice

Cons

hummingbird is a relatively new software product. the down side of that is there are bugs to work out. the up side is that users have much input for the continuing development of the program.

Mumms Review

Overall, MUMMS is a good program, converting over to Hummingbird have several issues. It is easy to learn and easily introduce to new employees.

Pros

I like the fact of submitting patient data in PIM information rolls over to clinical portion effective immediately.

Cons

The financial portion of the program has a few issues. Its not real time. The support at MUMMS is aware of the problems and have been diligently working on it. I have had several complaints from the nurses and physicians about being very lengthy and redundant.

Excellent, even with recent migration

Pros

Easy to manage and maintain, especially after upgrading to hummingbird. Any software issues can be resolved using the cloud icon to redownload files.

Cons

requires installer link to install, provided by company. otherwise not too many issues with this software. It does use ESR versions of firefox though..
