  • Pros

  • I appreciate how comprehensive it is - I'm happy that it handles our taxes as well as manages data flow to our benefits carriers through Carrier Connect.
  • I do not expect anything to be perfect; it is more important to me that they are working to improve and are responsive.
  • Our overall experience with Ascentis has been amazing. We always get the support we need and feel very confident with the software.
  • Cons

  • Timecard and payroll are not integrated directly, thus we must work directly with third parties, which can create problems if there is a problem with payroll.
  • Coupled with the added burden of the 1095-c and the need to manually update various records because Ascentis has software issues, it is disappointing.
  • The customer service for Ascentis is absolutely non-existent. It was so terrible that I had to send an email to the CEO and other members of the C-Suite to get my issues addressed.

  • We continue to look for opportunities to leverage this to our advantage. The level of customer service and availability of helpful resources is by far the best we have experienced.
  • I love many features about Paylocity. The ease of use is outstanding and the dedicated customer support is fantastic.
  • We love the mobile capability for our team. Most features are accessible from smartphones, which helps our technicians in the field.
  • Cons

  • Implementation was a disgrace. Our first implementation consultant disappeared and no one knew where she went.
  • Reporting can be a struggle since many standard reports from Paylocity involve merged cells without one single row of data. Customer service is very hit or miss depending on responds to the requests.
  • Customer service is horrendous. We were told we would have an "Account Manager" That indicated to me that I'd have one person who answer my emails or phone calls.
