Avionte is a recruiting and staffing solution offering integration support between front office, back office and web portals to enable staff to access real-time data. The solution can only be deployed in the cloud, and is suitable for staffing and recruiting companies of all sizes.

Avionte helps gather and sort data about clients and employees, covering general requirements and work-specific details. The solution provides performance metrics on branch operations, corporate profitability, sales and service.

The solution’s front office tool provides features such as mass email and text capabilities, applicant tracking, resume generation, mobile searching, mobile sales application, sales pipeline management, scheduling and customer relationship management (CRM).

Its back office tool offers features such as credit management, GL integration, reporting, accounts payable support, PO management, customized invoicing, electronic invoicing, time clock integration, online time entry, cash card integration support and payroll management. Job Board and Online Applicant portal allow applicants to preview available jobs and submit resumes electronically. The portal allows recruiters to look up candidate profiles and schedule interviews through a mobile or tablet.

Avionte integrates with Microsoft Outlook to send emails, attach documents, and manage tasks and calendar.

You may upload candidate files and attach to their profile. Other than that, I don't see anything great about this product in comparison to other HRIS systems.

Cons

I don't know if it was the company I worked for or just the system itself, however the different Recruitment departments could not see if a candidate was already being used for the other department. System was slow and just ineffective for Recruitment.

Our company is just starting with a new ATS system/Avionte. So far so good! The training modules have really helped to visually "see" how to navigate around the system.

Cons

Starting any new ATS can be frustrating and overwhelming just due to your workload is currently at capacity. Now to learn anything new can put you in overload status.

Implementation - the spreadsheets are very difficult to provide info on. Our implementation person burned up our contract hours basically just assigning "tasks" to us that we already knew we needed to do.

Don't do it. There are better services out there. Do your research and get something else.

Pros

There are individual aspect that I like about Avionte, but once you try to use it as a system, it's not productive.

Cons

There is ZERO work flow. Clunky and takes forever to navigate the system. There is no way to track your advertising sources. Impossible to track which ad a person applies to, can't see employee trades and have to pay for upgrades to be able to see them. The search functions are straight from 2007 and all you ever hear is that they will improve with Arrow, which is their new platform... I use Arrow, it's not good. Way behind the times on their software and functions. Service is TERRIBLE! The payroll function is alright, but not great. The HRIS function... no one at Avionte knows how it works, not good.

Easy to use, teach, and learn. Most people I taught could use it pretty well within a day for basic functions. A lot of reports can be exported easily to Excel and other formats.

Cons

Reporting is not robust and there is a fee to add any additional reports. Search function is not intuitive for a lot of users.

I think that it is easy to access. It shows everything on the screen that you would need to go to access.

Cons

The reports are difficult to use. It is difficult to always find the report needed for the information you need to get. You have to manipulate many reports which is time consuming.

Pros

Good Integration with other products such as background checks, and other features but of course at an additional cost!

Cons

Bad value for the cost, extra fees for any changes, Self Service everything! Just received a lovely email that said "Mandatory Training" last time I checked we were the customers. If you are looking to switch software be prepared to have a minimum 20 hours a week dedicated to this alone! Avionte thinks that staffing companies have nothing better to do thank manage the software. Overpriced, not a good investment, highly regretting this purchase!

Many of vendors who are going to integrate or have integrated told me that Avionte keep changing things and they have not been able to integrate with them for a year, while they have already integrated with their partners. Also it's not web based, everything is so outdated. something that takes 4 seconds to respond in 2017 is like a decade in 2017.

Pros

It can do almost everything including back office. It prints checks. they can build customized report for money.

Cons

Everything is very slow. Difficult to navigate. My staff won't use all feature. only basics. When I encourage them and show them all the benefits, always complaint goes down to it's complexity, lack of simplicity, slowness to respond to anything. too many clicks.

Pros

Back office is supposed to be very good for Industrial companies. Honestly not the most important thing in a Recruiting software and there are so many other options.

Very hard to use. not intuitive. NOT an ATS system - difficult to parse resume's, difficult to enter orders, you have to go to a different screen for every little thing..not functional

The product is an all-inclusive staffing software program. It has the ability to truly streamline your business. Along with the ability to do so much, comes the challenges of trying to have staff members learn it all. Once the setups, processes and procedures are established it becomes an invaluable tool for our business. Getting there is the challenge.

Pros

Software and it's capabilities. Many aspects of this program create significant operating efficiencies. Paperless on-boarding, payroll and invoice processing, automated employee inputs through the paperless on-boarding. ACA component needs work, but will be a big plus.

Cons

The implementation process was weak on the customer service and support side. We were left to figure a lot of it out on our own.

Avionte's concept is great but some of the functions can be difficult and not user-friendly. There are a lot of things that stay set and settings so when you log back in it can be easy to forget you have that saved. The search function and navigating between those results can be confusing. I have used other systems compared to this one and would say it rates as average.

Avionte has the potential to be amazingly useful but for users that are far from tech savvy or impatient users, Avionte is complicated, overwhelming, and cumbersome to use.

Pros

It can do nearly everything you want/need.

Cons

Customizations are not updated with the core application and must be updated by request for an additional charge. Although I understand why this doesn't happen, it's hard to remember everything that might need updating.

Advice to Others

If you're going to use Avionte for your company, go self hosted with an option for Avionte support if you get stuck on something

For a staffing agency where the profit is in the Front Office, I would not recommend this software.

Pros

Avionte tech support is outstanding, also the staff is very friendly. Reports are excellent, and back office workflow is workable.
GP Calculator is the Boom!

Cons

Remote desktop is not efficient. Software does not function outside of Internet Explorer, so if you have applicants applying on any other browser they will have many issues, nor is it mobile friendly.
Front Office in Avionte is not Recruiter Friendly. Too many wasteful steps to accomplish one goal, and you cannot have more than one window open at a time, so if you’re in the middle of generating a resume, and a client or candidate calls in, you cannot do anything unless you exit out, having to start over.

Advice to Others

Until Avionte becomes Cloud Base, I would not purchase

The software is good- very robust and covers everything that we need. We found that there were only 4 staffing software vendors who could do EVERYTHING that we need.

Avionte regularly solicits feedback, and shapes their future development based on what the customers are looking for.

Likes Least

They are a growing company, and sometimes that growth affects the customer. While everything has not run perfectly with Avionte, when the rare problem comes up, the problem gets SOLVED.

Recommendations

Don't just look at the software, look at the company behind it. There are competitors of Avionte that have a reputation of suing their customers and being sued by their customers. Stay away from those competitors.

Ask the management of any software company who the data belongs to (you), and under what circumstances they would hold your data hostage (should be none).

Make sure that you take test both the front end and back end of the software. We looked at a couple of options that had a better front end than Avionte, but the backend was a disaster. Also be careful of add-on fees. Third party usually means extra money.

Finally- be wary of long term contracts. Avionte does not have them. If software is good then customers will stay. I believe Avionte's customer retention is among the top of the industry.

Avionte provides a powerful applicant tracking software solution that can be molded to suit your environment with a little know how and a bit of work. Their project managers are all top notch and will provide some hand holding if necessary, but for the most part if you have in-house IT staff they won't have much of an issue. Their software will force you to take a hard look at your internal processes and if your management staff is willing to make changes you can streamline quite a bit.

Likes Least

I'm not a fan of the trouble ticket system that was put in place about a year and a half ago. It detracts from the personal touch their help desk had prior to that.

Recommendations

Make sure to do your due diligence when evaluating how this software can save you time and money. By automating our payroll systems we were able to save quite a bit of money in internal staff.

It depends on which software you're referring to - Avionte or Aero. Aero's ability to offer a mobile optimized online application is nice, while Avionte's available features within the online application are better.

Cons

Again, it depends on which software platform we're speaking on.

With the vast majority of our business being temp staffing, Aero is far from functional for our business needs. We've found bugs along in testing the platform before rolling it out to our Direct Hire staff - some of which have been fixed since discovering them, others won't be fixed for a while.

Avionte's functionality is much better for temp staffing, but leaves a lot to be desired in its ability to keep up with the changes in the technological landscape (i.e. mobile optimized Applicant or Employee portal, functionality for internal staff on mobile or tablet devices, etc...)

The way it integrates with other software (timeclocks, testing, background checks, green shades, job boards, etc). I like the way aero is shaping up.

Cons

Since going from self hosted to hosted we can't self-deploy advanced queries / reporting services reports / DRM's / counters. Tracking down printing or performance issues takes a long time going through the support ticket system.

We have integrations available for many of the processes we run on a daily or weekly basis. In addition, many of our internal processes and tasks have been streamlined and are much more efficient than what we had with our legacy system.

Pros

I like the functionality of the software. There are many things we can do with Avionte that we were unable to do with our legacy system.

Cons

I don't like how long it can take to get responses to tickets. I've had tickets open for several weeks to have someone respond back with a simple answer/solution. Didn't appear it should have taken so long to get an answer.

Great customer service from the whole Avionte team. I like that we have a manager to oversee our company. We like that we have a point in contact to reach when we have questions or concerns. They allow us to set up a weekly call to discuss any items or just to see how he can help us. It is a great product for temporary staffing services. Our business customers are temporary staffing companies which is why we are using Avionte. The back office part of Avionte is what we use mostly. We've had to customize many things within Avionte which helps us in the long run.

Cons

The turn around time for issues encountered or even questions with their Support Team is not something I like. I am not a fan of having to submit a ticket for everything, even if it just a question. I understand the set up but the turn around time is not the greatest.

I like that it is continually evolving and growing to meet the rapidly changing needs of our industry. WIth the volume of unprecedented regulations and changing legislation, Avionte has been able to meet and evolve with the changes.

Cons

Speed of support has been an issue of late but they are striving to update their processes to bring back the rapid support we first received when we came on board with them. Service is still very good but it can be improved.

The front office functions seems very user friendly for the staff. The back office flows well over to quick books from a GL standpoint. We really like the integration with Greenshades.

Cons

The customer service, some tickets take a months to get replied back to and you are left to solve issues on your own. I hear this from many staffing companies that use Avionte and many who have looked at switching.

We have had hours and hours of payroll processing time cut by the items that we are able to do with the software. We have been able to upload W2s directly to our company website - employee portal for the employees to download and print themselves. We have saved thousands of dollars in costs related to payroll checks, mailing costs, printing costs, W2 printing, mailing, stuffing envelopes . . . Not having to print every single thing under the sun has been wonderful. Tech support is AMAZING! Our implementation team was wonderful, and continues to be a great partnership. Peace of mind that we are doing things correctly is great. Being able to upload documents directly into the employee file and not contact different branches to be able to see documents. Data entry at the branch level has improved dramatically as the employees are responsible for entering their own information. Makes for so many fewer mistakes. There really are so many things that I have come to appreciate with this software.

Pros

Very user friendly. Once you learn the names of items, it is quite simple to go back and forth between different areas of the software, and yet never lose your place.

Cons

There isn't much I don't like. Every problem that I have believed that I had, was able to be either adjusted by Avionte, or I've been able to find a work around that did exactly what was needed.

Cons

It does freeze and slow down often. Also I know since it's a remote desktop it might not have a choice, but I do wish I didn't have to go through a bunch of folders in my C drive to save things it's very slow when loading.

This is not user friendly. The cost of it is not justified. The support team is horrible. I have tickets open I submitted last week that have not had a single response

Pros

System very accessible on different platforms. I can pull the system up via the web or my desktop very easily. I don't have to worry about going into the office on the weekends to update employee files, I can just get it done at home and it's safely stored.

Cons

Password changes can be annoying due to the criteria required for a new password but on another side, I feel my information is safe so I understand the criteria required for the new password.

Cons- Avionte servers were so slow we finally moved it to another server host about 4 years ago that we had a prior relationship with that made to world of difference. We have the speed and little to no down time that we did not have prior.

If you had or having these problems with system as we did , we moved it to server host company called Intellipath at intellipath.com out of Indiana.
Owner Chris Ferland is one of the most honest people I ever worked with and understands the importance of keeping system operating and backed up.

After 10 years working together I can say he and his company are TOP notch. I found that the software companies know about software but not about servers.

Our company switched over to Avionte after a period of time utilizing a different, labor-intensive ATS. After a few months utilizing the system, this is what our team has decided regarding the product.

Pros:
Better than paper
Fairly easy email integration into the ATS
Payroll within the program could not be easier
Generating reports is a very straight-forward process

Cons:
In order to attach messages to work orders, employees, or clients, 90% of the time, one must do so separately. For example: If you have an employee out on assignment with a particular company under a particular work order and you wish to log a message, you must do so by individually selecting to attach it to the employee, then the assignment number, then the client company.
Ending assignments must be done in both the employee screen and the assignment number screen. Ending an assignment in one screen will not automatically change the files throughout the program.
Assigning employees to a work order is extremely labor intensive. One must go through several steps that, in other programs, would automatically populate (ie: changing a prospective candidate's status from "Active" to "W2" does not happen when the employee is assigned. One must change their status manually).
Utilizing Avionte's online portal to get employees to update information including I9 and W4 documentation only works 50% of the time.
Issues brought forth to the Customer Service team at Avionte are addressed with, "Alright. We're going to look into this and will get back to you within the next few hours." The only time we have ever received follow-up was a call the next day to inform us that they happened to notice our ticket was still open and that they would let us know when the problem was fixed.
The search feature leaves MUCH to be desired. It is not intuitive and is very difficult to use.

This is a slow, clunky system that requires a lot of patience and a lot of re-tracing of one's steps. Updates and changes to the system are very slow to take effect. I could not recommend this software to anyone.

Highly recommended. We're a smaller firm, and it's been the perfect fit for us.

Pros

The software is very easy to pick up for new users. I love how we can go in and edit a lot of the drop down lists and other features ourselves. It's pretty flexible, even when we have unusual things that we need to accomodate, we can find some way to make it work. And the service and support are fantastic!

Cons

Sometimes it doesn't have every single feature or field we want, but I don't think any pre-existing software would.
