Bullhorn


 

Bullhorn is a cloud-based applicant tracking and customer relationship management solution for small and midsize recruiting and staffing agencies. It offers email integrations, social media integration, reporting tools, mobile recruiting and passive activity tracking, and helps businesses manage contacts, track candidates, post job openings and fill open positions.

Bullhorn for Salesforce integrates with third-party email service providers such as Gmail and Outlook to send, receive and track communications. Users can view information about candidates from their inbox and access resumes, add notes, share details, create new tasks and schedule appointments. Bullhorn also integrates with LinkedIn Recruiter.

Bullhorn for Salesforce offers built-in reporting and analytics capabilities to help users track interactions with candidates. The configurable dashboard allows users to customize layout screens according to their preferences and helps to track business KPIs. Some of the additional features of Bullhorn are workflow management, job posting, mobile accessibility, social recruiting and data storage.

Cons

It wasn't all that user friendly, and the costs really added up to something more than we could afford. It may be a better fit for a larger company.

Avoid at all costs! The new platform doesn't work, you'll have to buy another software to get it to integrate, the DEMO is totally different that actual product

Avoid Bullhorn at all costs!!!

Their new platform had so many bugs that even doing the simplest administrative tasks took days of back and forth with tech support. It is barely customizable and the integration with Outlook and Google is a disaster. Their third party journaling basically shut down my email service for a week and it took Microsoft Tech Support to figure out their mess. They will waste your time with useless training which is just them buying time to get a simple database setup. To make the software somewhat work you will need to buy another third party program to effectively integrate the software. There are so many other great options available as both a CRM and ATS that blow Bullhorn away.

Don't make the mistake I did and get taken in by their demo. The demo is NOTHING like the actual program. After a month of trying to get it to work with a very simple application their tech support basically gave up and told me I would just have to find work arounds.

Another nightmare trying to get contract canceled and money refunded. Their executive team is totally unresponsive to any requests for help. From the CEO down their culture of apathy is apparent. I never did receive my money back for the first month. Total silence from them.

Bullhorn appears to be acquiring a lot of other platforms as well. Do yourself a favor and make sure that whichever you software to sign on with is not owned by Bullhorn.

Cons

Even the simplest admin tasks require days of tech support to achieve. The journaling is useless and don't integrate with Outlook or Google.

If I was running a mid-large staffing firm, this is the product I'd use.

Pros

This is the defacto applicant tracking system for the staffing/recruiting industry. Easy implementation/integration with our HRIS if relevant.

Cons

Not really a negative, just is what it is... the product is built for the agency world and doesn't really make sense for corporate recruiting settings.

Creating a job on Bullhorn is very easy and the user interface provides a smooth avenue to create the position. The drag and drop feature is also very nice as a lot of similar software doesn't have this feature.

Cons

No android or apple applications available at this time. The price runs a little on the expensive side, the smaller your company is. There isn't a trial period to test the software out before you buy it.

On it's face it seems cool to be able to integrate with Indeed and LinkedIn, et. al. But, in reality there are limitations (must have three LindkedIn recruiter licenses).

Cons

Too slow. You don't realize how slow it is unitl trying to work through many candidates. Also, didn't realize this wasn't a monthly subscription. Cancelled, but now still owe roughly some amount and never going to use again.

Pros

As a Bullhorn customer for the past three years I have found this to be a well rounded product. I believe Bullhorn is focused on customer support and continuing to advance their product. Customer service is always very helpful and knowledgeable.
The intuitive nature of the Bullhorn product is easy to use.

Cons

My company was part of the initial NOVO roll-out. This was not well planned out or executed.
I wish Bullhorn didn't log out so quickly.

Many features, partners, and based on Engage, very passionate about the customer happiness and success. Very attractive user interface.

Cons

I wish it were easier to make changes on the backend to customize our workflow in more detail. With my last ATS I was able to create more detailed custom reports as well - for the money Bullhorn should come with more reporting features and capabilities out of the box rather than paying for Canvas or a 3rd party.

Bullhorn is very comprehensive and has a lot of functionality for a variety of staffing industries but the cost is quite high, even for the functionality.

Pros

I like how easy it is to customize entity lists (sorting, filtering, searching) and add and remove fields and then export them.

Cons

Built-in reporting leaves a lot to be desired (building reports the pull data from multiple entities at once). It is also not easy to clean up the data (i.e. merge records and identify and correct incomplete or outdated data).

The application is flexible, affordable and is rich in features. It is integrated with MS exchange, MS office and outlook, this helps in keeping a watch on the communications between the client and the candidate. You can personalize the application according to your organization’s workflow. Record creation is very simple, you can do it just by a ‘drag and drop’. The interface is very user-friendly and it is easy to navigate. You can get the details of the previous job, to check the success of the work of the respective candidate. Provides great customer service and support. Presence of strong reporting capabilities and marketing options. Exhibits superb search capabilities. You can track the important events and statistics. Commission management features and note taking regarding respective candidates. The application is updated regularly.

Cons

The application loads the welcome page with a lot of features which makes slight confusion for first time users.

I previously worked for a large staffing firm - we had a homegrown system that stinked. it was slow - would always crash and really demotivated you to want to log information. Bullhorn fixes that - the software is easy to work with and it works how it should.

Pros

How is links LinkedIn profiles to their pages within Bullhorn. And if I come across someone on linkedin - it tells me if they are in Bullhon.

Also like that I can see if people have been "prescreened" and then look at those notes.

Cons

Logging of interviews - I don't like how it wants to send an invite for this.

Additionally - I don't like that currently when I log in (my credentials are saved) I have to log in 3 times for them to actually take.

I really enjoy the user interface - it is intuitive and can be quickly implemented. It is super easy to post jobs and search for candidates within the system. They also have a great set up for email templates to internal and external stake holders.

Cons

The Mobile app is somewhat slow and clunky but I rarely use it so it isn't too big of an issue. Not the cheapest but depending on your needs it is often worth it.

Cons

Bullhorn is pricey and does not build their software with small business in mind. Candidate searching takes some time to learn. There was many more pros in the past now those pros come with negatives. Over the past few years it has been difficult to manage. Do your homework before implementing. As you increase and build business it becomes costly and time consuming to try a different software. Look at reviews from recruiters and administrators. Software should be functional for the recruiter and manageable for the administators.

Cons

I feel ripped off, and exploited by Bullhorn by their changes. It is obvious that they simply see their customers as a resource to squeeze as much money from as possible.

It keeps track of candidates, contacts, jobs, placements, etc. very well in the system so you know who has contacted whom throughout all the years at the company. It finds who the duplicate contacts are so you're never submitting or talking to someone without knowing if someone else in the company has already done so.

Cons

Integration with Bullhorn Marketplace: the solutions offered in Bullhorn's Marketplace are extremely relevant; however the integration and go-live process lacks the support and guidance that we've come to expect through our experience with the core ATS product

It organizes all of your contacts and postings extremely clearly. As a new recruiter, it was super easy to use and jump right into.

Cons

The user interface isn't the most beautiful. They could really gain a lot more word of mouth if it looked good, but it's functional.
