Bullhorn is a cloud-based applicant tracking and customer relationship management solution for small and midsize recruiting and staffing agencies. It offers email integrations, social media integration, reporting tools, mobile recruiting and passive activity tracking, and helps businesses manage contacts, track candidates, post job openings and fill open positions.

Bullhorn integrates with third-party email service providers such as Gmail and Outlook to send, receive and track communications. Users can view information about candidates from their inbox and access resumes, add notes, share details, create new tasks and schedule appointments. Bullhorn also integrates with LinkedIn Recruiter.

Bullhorn offers built-in reporting and analytics capabilities to help users track interactions with candidates. The configurable dashboard allows users to customize layout screens according to their preferences and helps to track business KPIs. Some of the additional features of Bullhorn are workflow management, job posting, mobile accessibility, social recruiting and data storage.

After using many different systems I am fairly happy with this software.

Pros

Ease of use, step by step tools to help navigate the site, sorting options and tools are great. Customer service is fairly good and they are usually able to answer all of your questions on the spot. Most issues are resolved or researched with an end result.

Cons

The site could use more sorting tabs, more research options and more categorizing dropdowns. Not enough candidate pooling resources.

Fairly easy to use. I like that the list views are all the same. It's nice that there is always more than one way to do something in Bullhorn, that way is one way is not working there is almost always a workaround.

Cons

Price. the overall cost of Bullhorn is already high, but if you want to add any new feature it all separate and pricey! I also just heard that they are launching (have Launched ) Bullhorn Novo that seemed to have some really neat features but if you are on S then you would have to pay more to switch. and all the learning for BH if geared to Novo not S

The software has a lot to it. Lots of features, integrates well with job board sites. There is little downtime.

Cons

You are a number and the customer care is lacking. I personally think there are better software at better prices. We would not be happy long term with there software. It is tough to justify the cost.

Cons

I do not like the database as much as I thought I would. I like to customize and fill multiple data points for my searches, and felt it did not do this as well as others. also, job posting to external sources was not great.

Great product that is over priced.

Pros

I believe this is the best product on the market for Staffing and Recruiting companies but not the only one. It well integrated into outlook and other apps so it allows for ease of use. There is strong customer support for many issues and they always pretty easy to work with as an organization.

Cons

Overpriced compared to everyone else. Not much flexibility when you want to drop users. They are not much help when it comes to the career portal as well. We wanted to integrate the job site into our web page and there was little to no support there.

It's simple. I used this ATS/CRM at a previous company, so I stuck with it. You don't have to have a separate software like salesforce for the client mgmt.

Cons

Sometimes you have to login multiple times with your password. I don't have this problem with Wells Fargo or any other online passwords. Just bullhorn.

Sometimes the automatic resume parsing icon doesn't work.

It can be a little expensive for a basic account. One hundred a month is more then I pay for a premium Linkedin account.

Tasks could me more streamlined to include fewer clicks to edit the date/time/etc.

I got suckered into another year because of their 60 day cancellation requirement. If you don't notify them 60 days before your contract is up, your contract will automatically renew.

The interface is beautiful and the support team is excellent. The support team is 24/7 and they will follow up and not quit till they have is corrected and fixed. Great job.

Cons

Horrible parsing and search functions. It is very difficult to find someone in the system and the parsing tool does not add people to the system correctly which causes a lot of clean up time

Great ATS but pretty expensive. If it was cheaper and had the same product offerings I would use but have decided to use a cheaper ATS.

Pros

This ATS has every possible functionality you can think of. I use it mainly for job creation and managing my candidates during the recruiting process. I tried the demo of Bullhorn and was extremely impressed.

Cons

Ultimately, the biggest con is the price. Since I am a 1 man shop, it's a lot more than I am willing to pay. If you are with a larger recruiting organization though and are looking for a 1 stop shop for your recruiting needs, Bullhorn is the way to go.

Bullhorn makes it extremely easy for recording necessary information to ensure that all previous phone calls, notes, emails, are safely and accurately reported for future reference. It makes all future candidates much easier to screen. With the new laws set to take place, regarding salary history, Bullhorn makes it easier to negotiate for proper salary offers.

Pros

Bullhorn makes it really easy to parse in new candidates and client information, all without tedious external options. With the new features like planner and tasks, it's easy to stay-up-to-date with communication efforts and events.

Cons

The software is a little clunkly, and although it's a newer version, it seems a bit outdated. While the platform is web-based, it fails to run smoothly through a mobile platform, and often times, the loading times are a little sluggish. The platform does not update as quickly as web browsers do.

The system is pretty easy to figure out. Training on Bullhorn was not great but it is laid out in such a way new users can easily figure it out. Their Bullhorn library is quite good as well.

Cons

Customer service for a small business is terrible.
Implementation was awful and people doing the initial training did not really know the system capabilities at all.
No attention to detail - Named our company wrong and committed to do things they did not do just to give two examples.

Cons

Most importantly it is not intuitive and requires a lot of effort for customization and set-up. It's very technical and if you don't have the time and ability to build it for your own needs step by step it's just a basic and bulky feeling software you can track applicants and job orders with.

Cosmetically, bullhorn is gorgeous. I love how everything looks, but unfortunately, that's about where it ends. While it has a lot of features that have great potential they are quite difficult to use or get to work properly.

Cons

Not user friendly whatsoever. Hard to find what you need if it's not just a simple search function. Crashes OFTEN. We had a problem with our accounts randomly getting locked out. Quite frustrating.

The search feature is great, there are so many ways to broaden or pinpoint your search. When you pull up a search, the ability to sort by so many different fields is great.

Cons

I wish there was a trigger that goes from Active to Working and back to Active when they start and end a job. It takes so much time to go in and change people from Active to Working, so you don't offer them another job while they are on an assignment for you. But when the assignment ends, you have to mark them back to Active or you will never see them in your Active search.

What I love most about Bullhorn is not only the easy interface but also their partnership with vendors. They have a marketplace that allows you find so many great tools to help your business and they all integrate with Bullhorn!

Cons

They have some things that are hard coded that I wish we could change. Also, they tend to tell customers about new features and give a date that it will be live but it usually takes longer than expected. For example, they said the new version would be rolled out in July and when I spoke to them about when we would be getting it they said it would be closer to December.

Syncs real time. Shares info with others on my team. The layouts are customizable - like to be able to modify look an feel.

Cons

Security login/logout time is too short. Should be feature that each user can control. Not a big fan of having to reset/clear search criteria every time I do a new search. I would prefer that it automatically default to new search of entire database.

We have been more effective at filling positions since instituting an ATS.

Pros

Bullhorn allows us to keep notes on each candidate we work with as well as a record of which positions they have applied to and any feedback. It helps us to stay organized.

Cons

The system can be a bit clunky at times and frequently logs you out throughout the day, so you are forever entering and re-entering your login credentials. Sometimes the system will actually allow you go through the process of making a change before telling you have been logged out, so then you have to go back and do it all over again. There are also frequent errors with resume parsing.
