On the positive side, We get fewer next-morning 'did my payment go through?' messages than we did with bank-transfer confirmations. The constructive side is equally specific: card-funded payments and instant deposits make the fee line harder to predict than a simple flat rate, which complicates how we quote clients. That is why Clockify stuck after the first month of requesting payment on an invoice the same afternoon we finish the work. Contractor payouts that we used to batch on Mondays now go out the same afternoon we approve the hours. I also like that the confirmation and the ledger line stay attached to each other, so we are not reconstructing a Saturday job from memory on Monday. #### Cons The product does the core job, then loses time here. Card-funded payments and instant deposits make the fee line harder to predict than a simple flat rate, which complicates how we quote clients. Search in the history is usable, but a dense Friday list still means scrolling past friends-and-family looking noise if someone paid from a personal profile. It does the job we bought it for; the surrounding admin is what keeps it from being an easy recommend. #### Reasons for switching to Clockify I made the switch because Clockify offered a simpler layout, easier reporting, and better flexibility for tracking different types of work. In addition to viewing your time logged, you may export some very basic reports for nothing which makes payroll week much less stressful. Setting up team accounts took approximately ten minutes and thank goodness did not produce any strange error messages for me. #### Cons The worst part of exporting payroll reports using our custom reports is that the "date" filters will not remember the date ranges I want to use, until I find and press each of the three separate, hidden "buttons". why would they be so rigid? In terms of value for money it is reasonably priced - not to high but recommend using the free version till you and your team get a feel for how you want to incorporate it. Very easy to use and has a simple intuitive navigation. There are some lags across multiple devices but that is to be expected when using it in that manner. #### Cons In terms of issues - main one is it is not easy to add additional time stamps whilst system is running - you need to stop current timer - add the additional ones and then restart. Prior to implementing the time clock I had my employees simply submit an invoice to me when they were ready and probably worked shorter hours than they should have. But the time clock has allowed me to monitor how many hours they're actually worked and that's been really refreshing. The checklist on the food truck is great, as my employees are now doing the work I ask of them. The chat feature is functional for reducing the number of times that my personal cell phone is blowing up with texts. #### Cons I think the learning curve is going to be monumental and I am not sure how much of their webinars or meetings I’m going to be able to tolerate. The vendor sends us the recordings afterwards but I struggle to find this as it’s buried deep in some menu and there are hundreds of different settings. I particularly like the fact that it’s got a free version that can do a lot, it gives you an idea of what the app is and helps you decide if you want a paid plan and surprisingly there’s even more advanced features and I like the fact that it can integrate with other tools. #### Cons The mobile interface feels a little bit too much, if I may say it needs a cleaner more easily accessible interface.
