GoReact solved our issues in providing online students with meaningful video feedback and reinforced feedback for our on campus students.

We use GoReact in our online and on campus courses. Our institution uses Canvas as the learning management system. The integration of GoReact with Canvas was seamless. It is very easy to set up assignments using this tool. Our primary use is to improve students American Sign Language skills. Students submit an assignment video to their GoReact account and the instructors provide video feedback at various points in their videos that help students improve. It's as good as being live in the classroom, in some ways better, since students can go back to re-watch instructor feedback as much as they need.

Building rubrics in GoReact is one aspect our instructors say are not as intuitive as they would like. At times, students have said the same thing about document attachments with their videos.

GoReact really enhanced our ability to observe Student Teachers during the pandemic AND now we still use it because our budget has not allowed us to hire more full-time or adjunct supervisors for our growth. We have so many Student Teaching candidates to see and using GoReact allows us to observe candidates in these greater numbers than normal in person time would allow AND with more targeted specific feedback they can interact with.

I think the #1 pro for me and my student teaching candidates is the fact that they can see what I've seen and can review their own teaching and use their own markers OR respond to my markers/comments. This means they are not left with the impression of ONLY what I saw and commented on but it allows them to really reflect and not just have the "I think this is what I did" but actually see what I did or didn't do. I also very much like the opportunity to create my own markers that will then be used by both myself and my students both for very specific activities I need to see in the course I teach or with the official rubric we use to evaluate our candidates in the real classrooms. That type of flexibility allows me to prep candidates for the classroom, while in the classroom, and even for edTPA.

I only have 2 areas that I would like to see added or improved: 1. Some form of auto-correct or spell-check built into the comments section. I get typing pretty fast while watching the videos and there will be mistakes but the system does not correct them. I'd really like that added. 2. This feature is more for the candidates, but I'd like to see candidates have the ability to trim videos through the process, not full editing features but a way to trim out portions as they need them, especially for edTPA.

The features of GoReact are good. It does what it sets out to do efficiently.

Two main issues, from a music teacher's perspective, who teaches 20+ students. The time it takes to do this work is very cumbersome. It won't scale. With my experience, I have no problem picking up on small queues or problems in musical execution. The issue is with the translating the minutia and details of these complex mechanics into words. For example, in real time, technical troubleshooting would be explained and broken down in a step-by-step basis. I could do the same with GoReact on a "almost-frame-by-frame" basis, but that is far too cumbersome. I think it's a limitation of the medium of text, because it runs counter to the idea of "show, don't tell." Back to the classroom. I'm very good at troubleshooting guitar technique. The alternative to the "pinpoint" ability within GoReact is for me to create my own video to demonstrate the student's mistake and to show the alternative. (It's like all of those YouTube videos -- for example: "5 common mistakes when squatting.") Most of the time, I'm addressing common mistakes that are not specific to the individual.

My overall experience with GoReact has been exceptional. The company is attentive to the needs of its end users. For example, giving video feedback can be time-consuming. Observing the burden on instructors, they created a stamp system to speed feedback. GoReact added many features to make their feedback system the optimal web-based software for ASL and interpreting course instructors to gather student videos and give feedback in ASL.

GoReact is the only viable feedback system that allows effective time-synced annotations of student video submissions. My comments can be from a webcam, a screen recording, a file I upload, or simple text. When I go to give comments, I can see the original stimulus the student was watching and t e student's response to the stimulus playing in sync. My feedback gets synced to them both. Oth r freemium solutions are not as robust and often are surprisingly expensive. The complete set of comment features is also available to students for student-to-student feedback. I can even set up an activity such that students can find their own stimulus for practice. GoReact has created many solutions for group work, in-class work, live feedback, completely online courses, and hybrid situations. Not only does GoReact work as advertised, but several times when students tried to use it in ways it was not designed, we suggested the use to the GoReact team, and they made it a feature. There are other promising web-based video annotation and feedback systems, but GoReact has a proven track record of delivering a solid core system while continually improving. GoReact has good technical support for teachers and students. They have a good history of working with university-level technicians and working with small departments. I have been impressed with their willingness to work with a single instructor or teacher testing out GoReact.

As far as I know, they still don't have a one-time use or pay-as-you-go plan. Sometimes, I want to use it for one assignment or exam in a course without forcing students to sign up for the entire semester.

Fabulous! Previously, I had used 2 different video recording platforms which did not integrate with our course software. GoReact embedded right into my campus courses so I graded the videos directly. Our Instructional Designers figured out how post 30 Legacy Videos, 3 per week, at the beginning of each of my weekly assignments. I wanted our students to see 3 examples of speaking success and more importantly, see previous students who looked and sounded just like them doing well and feeling great with their new speaking skills...natural, at ease, articulate and confident. Video #10, the Legacy Video, featured each student giving advice and encouragement to future students. On a voluntary basis current students signed a Media Release form and dedicated their last video to encouraging future students. Big thanks to the Instructional Designer who add the new Legacy videos to my courses each quarter. When our campus was Beta testing several video software packages, I was very vocal in my support of GoReact because of its quality, ease of use and ability to calibrate it to our level of student. In closing, I have over 1200 students' video recordings to prove they overcame their fear of public speaking - a huge professional victory in my opinion.

I embedded GoReact into every Graduate Business Communications class I taught. This software ensured the each of the 30 students practiced 1x per week in private, no matter how shy they were about speaking up in class. I set up 10 weekly assignments starting out at 30 seconds of recording and adding 30 seconds each week. By the end of the quarter, they had spoken for a total of 20 minutes using the structures and speech skill they learned. GoReact allowed them to self-correct in private thereby building confidence and success.

I was too busy with the rest of my class content to learn most of the special feedback and editing features of the software, which might have been useful if I were privately coaching an individual who needed that level of detail. GoReact is functional at a basic level, which I used, all the way to detailed analysis.

It has made my teaching better, as I can add comments directly to the timing in the students' speeches - making my feedback clearer and easier for students to learn what parts worked well, or what needs improvement and why.

This software has made my transfer from in-class to online so easy. The app is very easy to set-up, to help students register, to create and utilize customized rubrics, monitor when students have completed assignments, and fun platforms to provide both written and video feedback. The ability to customize each class to meet the needs of the presenters (live, or recorded with screen-share or uploaded and timed slides) is excellent. The customer service is exceptional. I highly recommend this app for communication instructors for both in-class and online teaching. I know that it can also be used with BlackBoard - to integrate the grade books - to save time by not having to upload grades for assignments manually in both. And, the helpful link for registering students - inviting via emails - is great too: as students are often overwhelmed at the beginning of the semester to set up the needed platforms for each online class.

Most of the uploaded materials allowed have to be in a PDF format - so this does, at times, limit what students can attach to their assignments. However, the "How To" instructional videos for students in the library of GoReact are so clear and helpful - it's not difficult to direct them to ways to make this conversion.

Overall, I enjoy and appreciate using GoReact.

The technological features are incredibly helpful for our applications to complete their assessments. We assess potential sign language interpreters, which means video and audio are both critical, and having more than one video next to each other is needed as well. GoReact allows our team to set up applicants for their assessment and get it sent to our assessment team very well. Additionally, I used the program in college, while I was studying to become an ASL interpreter. GoReact was invaluable there, as well.

Sometimes the site seems to run slowly - for example, yesterday I was trying to get a submission deleted so that I could allow an applicant to restart part of the assessment that had frozen on them. It also was moving very slowly on my end, so we both had to log out and log back in before I was able to get it running.

GoReact is an excellent product. Any time there is a problem, we are able to get it resolved very quickly! As new features are added, our ASL Program has requested and always received personalized training from GoReact specialists to maximize our understanding and use of the new features. I highly recommend it to everyone!

I love the ability to leave video feedback throughout a student's project. This makes it easy for students to review their work, helping them identify and correct their errors.

I believe $30 a semester is too much for some classes that only use the software for a few video assignments. I wish there were more purchase options when making an account such as paying for a specific number of recording hours or assignments.

It is decent software for the price...it just needs to innovate more.

I love that this software is cloud based and can be accessed everywhere.

The app is a bit of a joke. It is 2022. My students and I are doing everything on our phones. For me recording video in the classroom the app doesn't work if you integrate the GoReact screen with Blackboard and add it as a tool. Kinda pointless.

I loved it and learned a lot thanks to it. Unfortunately I haven’t tested any alternatives so I don’t know how it compares.

I used this product during my intensive conference interpreter training. What I liked most was how easy it made giving and receiving feedback. It was never hard to use.

If it froze, sometimes I would lose my recordings. While it seems to have a system in place to allow for short internet loss, it didn’t work as smoothly as would be ideal.

I've used GoReact in my courses for over 6 years. One year our department tried a different LTI - the semester was miserable because the feature of the other product didn't even compare to the those in GoReact. By the end of the semester, I told the course director I would only teach the course again if GoReact was used as the presentation software.

There are so many features about GoReact that I love as an instructor. To name the top three would be the time stamped comments, markers, and the rubric features. With the time stamped comments, students can see the exact moment the feedback applies. This develops their understanding of presentations in greater depth than general feedback at the end of a review. The markers make it easy to identify continuing elements without retyping phrases over and over. They also create a unified system of commenting with multiple reviewers. Finally, the rubrics make it easy to grade presentations and again create consistency in evaluation with multiple reviewers.

Cost is an issue for our institution. Because we are a small institution, the number of licenses we need makes it slightly less cost effective over other brands.

From the first opportunity I had to speak with someone about GoReact, I have been impressed with the quality of the product and the integrity of the people who are part of GoReact. The product itself meets my needs in almost every way, and I can count on the people of GoReact to listen when I have technical issues or suggest changes or improvements to the software. It is by far the best product for the price for video-based observation, feedback and coaching.

This software is easy to use. The people behind the products are the best I have ever worked with. Being able to customize the markers and include specific comments in a variety of ways makes it possible to customize feedback to the learner.

The nomenclature is somewhat limiting. I use this with both students in preparation programs as well as with professionals already licensed. The terms "teacher" and "student" do not apply in both situations.

My experience with GoReact was a good one. [SENSITIVE CONTENT], my Client Success Manager, was fabulous and extremely helpful. He would get back to my emails promptly, we would video chat about concerns, and he would make personalized video tutorials when he felt it was necessary. I couldn't have asked for any better.

The support from the GoReact support staff, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] in my case, was exceptional. I had many questions throughout the semester as I set up a project in the course I was teaching at a college. [SENSITIVE CONTENT], got back to me within 24 hours and most of the time within a few hours (even less at times) of my question. I was more than happy with the experience and will be using the system again this semester. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and I are already working on it. I would highly recommend this system.

Some features were a bit difficult to figure out, but when a feature did not exactly match what I needed, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and I would talk about it, and he would either guide me through it or say he would take my concerns to the staff. He would always come back with a solution or suggestions to work it out. Plus, there are tutorial videos to watch to try to figure it out and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] would send me personalized tutorial videos as well.

What I like the most, is that the students are able to submit their performances online in an excellent visual and verbal format. I like that their videos stop at the moment that I begin typing comments about their performances. This provides the students with the exact moment for my comments, when they watch their graded videos. This is really helpful both for me and for the students.

What I like the least, is the fact that I have to extend the due date after I have graded an assignment in order for students to be able to read my comments on their performances. I would like to be able to have a due date, after which time the students are unable to load an assignment, coupled with an 'available date' that is only a 'Read by' date, during which time the students would be able only to read my comments about their assignments. Thank you for working on this.

I know this company is growing and that is great. At the same time, they do an amazing job with communication with customers. I feel like a recognized customer instead of an "account". Response time is incredible.

GoReact has provided a tool that has a tremendous impact on how to improve the work of our students. Whether they are in an American Sign Language class or an interpreting class, they can get feedback and conduct self-assessment in a way that greatly improves learning. The ability to insert written, spoken or signed input or comments has made for a much richer learning experience.

The library is a bit of a challenge. A new library system was developed and it is not clear what the advantage is of the new library. Most of my material is still stored in the previous library. I need to get support on this - I do know if I just ask, I will get immediate assistance.

I have used video in teacher education for many years. I really appreciate how easy it is to upload and share video using GoReact. Video files can be so large, it is hard for students to submit them and share them. The app makes this very easy. No moving files or worrying about compression. I like that I can customize tags and share them with other instructors. I like that it integrates into Canvas so there is one less logon my students have to worry about.

This is a robust and easy to use software that is very affordable. It has made collecting, sharing, and analyzing video so much easier. Before the Canvas plug-in we used the app and it was great. The Canvas integration works well. The ability to customize tags and share them with other instructors is very helpful. I also like that I can change the settings for who can see the videos and comments.

I wish students could customize their own set of tags. I wish there were more analytic reports. Students mention that if Canvas is not set to open GoReact in a new tab it is very difficult to use. I wish students could upload more supporting files with their videos.

I am using GoReact to record lab sessions in an Introduction to Counseling class. Students benefit from seeing themselves on video as they learn and practice attending skills. I am able to give meaningful feedback to them, and the process of commenting and marking videos is simple. This product is a significant improvement from old-fashioned video recordings (that couldn't be commented on) or in-person feedback (which didn't allow students to view their own sessions).

I use GoReact for recording student lab sessions in an undergraduate counseling class. The set-up is easy and the software works seamlessly with several different kinds of technology that the students use for their recordings. The ability to make comments on recordings allows me to provide impactful feedback on assignments.

I do not have any complaints about this software. I recommend it to colleagues!

Allows online speech students to record and upload their speeches and slide presentations. I have the option to keep speeches private while other times allow all students access

Markers … would like to add five ID letters instead of just two.

We have found the support to be second to none; the personal touch is everything in a virtual relationship with a vendor!

The GoReact development team was willing to work with our institutional analytic support to create an interactive database for us to query.

Not that I am aware of! We have made suggestions along the way and all were addressed for us.

It has been and excellent complement to use with the current True + Way ASL online learning platform especially since COVID 19 and online learning has been the filling the gaps to in person instruction.

Go React software was easy to install and set-up instructions were clear and easy to follow.

At this current time I have no suggestions. Prior to switching to the in Canvas version I was using the Go React.com for which didn't sink-up with my grade book on Canvas. Now, using the app. directly into the Canvas structure that issue has been eliminated and less change for grading errors.

Cannot mix different assignment types in one. For example, I want 5 questions - 3 open ended questions and 2 MC - no MC feature (for tests).

This product is fairly easy to use. Faculty are becoming more responsive to students’ observations through using GoReact.

Getting buy in from students and faculty continues to be a problem. When one member has difficulty, which happens fairly frequently, it spills over into other being distrustful.

This let's my students grow and improve in a remarkable way. I've used it now at three different institutions.

I've used this for years and have seen the software's growth. It is the fastest way to give rich feedback to students on their work. I've only sparingly used it for student to student feedback, but know it has great potential there too.

The interface with Canvas is still a tiny bit "clunky" but gets better each iteration .

I know there are a lot of more features within the app that I have not used, but they are difficult to learn alone. If I had a training to learn how to use the WHOLE platform, I would definitely take advantage of it.

The platform only accepts PDF documents. I wish they could accept any type of file in a manner that I can just simply drag them from my desktop to the platform.

Great! This is our first year using GoReact for evaluations. Previously my supervisor would observe my lesson and then give feedback at the end of the lesson. With GoReact I record my lesson and then she watches it and gives feedback. I was able to see my self "in-action" and also read my supervisor's comments at times in my lesson that I probably wouldn't even have remembered when the lesson was over. I really liked the self- reflection of watching my self teach as well as input from my supervisor.

I recorded an educational lesson and my supervisor was able to give excellent feedback without interrupting my lesson. I was able to see her comments and suggestions at different points in my lesson.
