Great Service
Very easy to use and able to provide information on a lot of our candidates we wouldn't be able to get during an interview. Some of the assessments even help you determine areas of strengths and weaknesses of a candidate and where to focus your questions for interview.
PROSThey have great customer service from start to finish. There was always a clear representative throughout sales and I was passed on to an account manager who handled our training and any question we had. It makes things easy. I also love how the sales rep and then account manager always have contact information on the site so you can always reach out easily with questions. They are always helpful when you reach out.
CONSWe are a healthcare company and some of the assessments are not as specific to out positions, but there is the capability to add your own assessments. The account manager did try to help us find assessments that fit our needs.

Especially Great for High Volume/High Value Hires
Our Customer Success Mgr, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], provided exceptional support during setup and implementation and continues to do so with regular check ins and prompt responses to any inquiries. Recent updates to the assessment summaries make it even easier to read and interpret each candidate's results.
PROSThe deep dive detail the summaries offer for each assessment really allows you to assess a candidate's strengths and weaknesses at a glance. It provides useful info to deep dive into for a follow up interview.
CONSCustomizing your own 'batteries' when creating your assessment package could be a little easier to arrive to. However, once you've gone through the process a few times, it gets easier.

Good service, brilliant idea and workflow, questionable claims on desired results
The concept is great - relatively easy, short assessments for potential candidates. Great workflow and communication. Good Criteria team and onboarding/response support.
CONSThe claims about the quality of hires are vastly overstated.I think their intentions are very good, but they really don't have a handle on whether the product and workflow actually works as they state. The process for modifying assessments to hone a better process is vague or non-existent. In the end, it appears to be a generic assessment across a very broad range of industries and jobs (in our case sales roles)

I have no complaints!
PROSHireSelect is very intuitive and easy to use. I had used HS with a former employer and as soon as I had room in the budget, I implemented the product for my new company. I use the testing, the ATS feature, and the calendar to schedule interviews. Customer Support is top notch and [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is always quick to help.
CONSI wish it would integrate more holistically with BambooHR so I could use the feature seamlessly. Other than that, it works great.

Caliper's tests were too cumbersome and long. They were not specific to my job titles and was missing the ATS piece that I needed.

Great hiring tool
The skills and personality assessments are critical in our job searches. We have found that if candidates don't take the time to complete the assessments they're not really that interested in the job. It's also helped us weed out people who are not detail oriented when we find they didn't really follow instructions.
CONSI would love to see more skills tests in the areas of IT troubleshooting.

Criteria is a better value and had better options for small businesses like us who only use this when we have the occasion to hire a new employee.

Great reports and easy to read
These assessments are the only piece of objective criteria an employer will receive about a candidate. Often times a candidate might interview well but when the assessment is done it will show they have low abilities in taking in and applying new information with speed and accuracy. In these times when businesses need people to learn quickly, the assessment can really help us identify who will not need repetitive training.
PROSI like the ability to customize the reports based on the job function, picking specific assessments we'd like to include for each type of job. I also like the explanations that are provided for each of the scales. It makes the information easy to understand.
CONSThe only con I have is that there is no option to purchase a smaller "bundle" of assessments. I am a consultant working with small businesses who don't do a lot of hiring each year but who could benefit from the assessments. It would be nice either I or my clients could purchase a certain numer of assessments rather than buy "per year". A company I previous did assessments through (Prevue) offered assessment bundles of 10 - 20. The cost per assessment was appox $100 (based on the size of the bundle) This made it cost a bit more manageable for the clients we worked with. So my recommendation would be to offer a bundle of assessments in numbers of 5, 10, 20 or 50. I'd really like to hear back from Criteria if this is something they will consider.

Reasons for switching to Criteria
The one client who uses Criteria used to use Prevue. When I left my previous company and opened my consulting business, this client came to me. I recommended they use JazzHR as their applicant tracking system, and Criteria integrates easiliy with JazzHR. Because Prevue charged per assessment, this client was unwilling to assess each candidate. They are a larger business and there is a bit of turn over so we wanted to assess all candidates prior to interviewing. We used to interview first and then assess, only to find the candidate had low abilities or personality traits that were not a match. Interviewing first wasted a lot of management time. So now we assess first and if their marks fall in the permitted ranges, we then move then forward to an interview. So for this client, being on an annual agreement for unlimited assessments has been a positive move.

A Great Way of Qualifying Applicants
I like how Criteria clearly shows how an applicant is rated based on their answers, and helps us to more easily determine whether an applicant should be moved onto the next step of our hiring process.
CONSThe only con, I see is that it doesn't have a perfectly seamless integration with our applicant tracking system. (Example: if an applicant needs to have the assessment sent a 2nd time, the score doesn't show up in the ATS)

Fantastic Tool for Assessemnts
The assessments currently offered by Hireselect are fantastic. We have found the Employee Personality Profile and Aptitude assessments particularly useful in providing critical insights into our candidate's work style, ability to problem solve, learn new information, and their current skill level. The tool is very easy to use and customize to your needs. We often use the suggested interview questions that come as a result of a candidate's employee personality profile to help our new managers ask behavioral based questions. The customer service is always prompt and thorough, and implementation was easy. We also have taken advantage of the customized test maker feature to survey our new hires at various milestones in their on-boarding. Having the assessment scores and survey responses housed in one tool has saved us time and effort.
CONSThe only short-coming is the possibilities with the self-service reporting/data. More options to customize your reporting would be great. However, this is not something that is hindering enough to deter us from continuing to use hireselect.

Quick and Easy
With HireSelect we use the pre hire testing more than any other feature. We set a baseline with our current staff and were astounded at how well it read those staff that we quickly implemented. The results have been spot on which keeps us renewing this service every year.
PROSThe software is extremely user friendly. When I need to figure out how to do something new it takes not time at all but possibly their customer service even tops this. The easy scheduling system they have to reach out for someone to help is amazing and put the options in your hands.
CONSBeing a SAAS there were some hurdles to jump through with our purchasing department but more likely that is on our outdated requirements. The latest update was significant and hope to see more feature in the near future.

Very Useful Assessment
This is an easy way to assess applicants on their capability. The results are fast and easy to understand. The customer service representative helps us in a timely manner in times we need support in adding a new entry.
CONSIt does not give me the information on what website did the applicant applied to. Currently, we have job postings on multiple sites. It would be helpful if that can be provided so we don't need to trace on what site the applicant submitted the application.

PROSWe use 3 of the testing modules for every applicant (specific positions) that we gain interest in, after our initial screenings. The results are easy to review and digest, which gives us an added tool to help in our selection process.
CONSHonestly, I have zero complaints or suggestions here.

Great Software
HireSelect has improved our Talent Acquisition process by helping us make better candidate selections. Through employee personality profile scores, and by matching candidate competencies against benchmarks, we are finding candidates who are proving to be better fits for certain jobs, which is also leading to increased employee retention.
PROSI like that I can create my own battery of assessments, based on each specific job description. I also like how quickly I can access the results, can compare candidates' assessments, and can review individual competencies.
CONSOn the Employee Personality Profile, I wish there were a few more benchmarked positions to choose from.

Enjoying the information and the additional support in our screening process
I love the price, I love the product, I love the information. My executive team also really enjoys this product which is a huge win. I will absolutely remain a HireSelect customer.
PROSI like all of the additional information given outside of the numerical scores the most. It allows me to make the most informed choice rather than simply going off the summary score.
CONSI do not enjoy the integration with Jazz HR that much. I automate a lot of the routine steps so that I can spend the most time on the phone or communicating with the candidate. Since I automate the use of Hire Select Assessments, it only sends out the link, and therefore, does not automatically attach finished assessments to my candidates' profiles. I have to prioritize manually uploading my candidates' results via email.

Great product with great Customer Service
Great product with great support from Customer Success team.
PROSVery easy to use by users and candidates (tests). Good home page dashboard with great analytics. Very good reports and analysis. Seamless integration with Workable.
CONSI don't have any complaints about this software. One nice to have improvement idea (if possible): Can more data or output file be exported to Worakble?

Criteria Corp is a great resource!
Extremely positive. I have always received any support I have needed from my Customer Service Rep and I find the assessments excellent and the website easy to navigate.
PROSI have used Criteria Corp's products for 3 years. I find the products to be very high quality, easy to use, and supported by great customer service and digital resources.
CONSI do not like the software skills assessments as they assume the respondent/applicant uses keyboard shortcuts. If you are someone that uses primarily a mouse, you do not do well on the assessment and yet you may be very skilled in the software. I believe these types of skills tests are difficult to offer anyway because different positions require different skill levels.

Great hiring tool!
We have had a recent hiring blitz and Criteria has been a very helpful tool to assess potential new hires. It also helps us understand learning patterns and gives ideas towards training and coachability.
PROSIt is very easy to use and to customize. Unlimited assessments were a cost saver in the long run. Also had a very extensive library of assessments available to use.
CONSHave only been using for less than 6 months so haven't found any negatives

The client support is best in class.
PROSAdministering the tools is easy and straightforward. Easy to have multiple users and control access as well. Very simple for applicants to use.
CONSI would like to see reporting that brings the comparative data into one place where it is easy to evaluate candidates against one another and to determine selection trends.

Criteria Corp - a wise investment
Criteria is helping us make better judgement for placing applicants in the position best suited for them. It has been easy to use this system. I look forward to setting up our own tests that deal with specific machinery in the plant.
PROSI love the fact that you can test an unlimited amount of applicants every month. Implementation was super easy. Easy to maneuver through platform.
CONSNothing to complain about at all. The only suggestion is that the introductory call would be nice in the first week you begin to use the system.

Great Idea, Too Expensive for Results
Very positive experience with the implementation team and the customer support is pretty good. However, aside from the IO psychologist partnership, it's a lot of the same testing other services offer for a higher price.
PROSIf you get time with an IO psychologist, it's super helpful to review your data and see how well the tests are actually impacting your hiring quality, ramp time, etc. However, I think this is key differentiator for Criteria, so this should be included in every package.
CONSEverything is guess work for at least 6 months to get initial data, and you can't get quality of hire insights for about a year. It takes a full contract just to be able to get the data to see if it's helping your organization, so you have to renew to finish - then if you didn't see impact, it's too late!

Easy to do business with!
As the title clearly states - they are easy to do business with! They are communicative from the selling process to the ongoing management of our account. We have bi-annual check meetings with our account rep. When we experience challenges, we have quick turn-around times and do not struggle for long.
PROSAs we have moved to more remote work, I'm so glad that we implemented this software at the start of 2020. It took almost a year to review assessment providers, and almost all of them were missing something. Criteria had it all! On top of the great product, the service and the pricing have been phenomenal. We also are very excited when there are additional assessments added. Now that we are through the brunt of the pandemic, we will start leveraging the assessments for development needs on our team. We are targeted to grow by 12% YOY, and we promote on average 14% of our internal talent.
CONSWe had some bumps with building our own assessment, however, no other vendor could do this for us with minimal production costs. Even though we had bumps, it has been worth it to have our needs met. Everything about this product has not only met our expectations, however, has gone above and beyond!

We looked at two other providers, and they couldn't deliver on the assessments we needed or beat the cost savings!
Reasons for switching to Criteria
The PXT is too cumbersome. Too much-antiquated data and overwhelming for our leadership. Also, the cost was on a per person test, vs. an annual subscription with Criteria. I love their product and their cost structure 100% more than the PXT with Profiles International. Our leaders are happier we made the switch too!
