Criterion HCM is an integrated HRIS system with Payroll, HCM and suite of essential HR features. The system uses a modular approach to make sure that each client can start with basic modules and then expand as the requirement grows.

The employee self-service portal keeps track of the overall flow of information within the workplace and helps employees manage the accuracy of their own data. The overall look of Criterion HCM's portal can be adjusted to fit each business's brand; customization options include the ability to white label the product to support a company's needs.

The payroll functionality streamlines the overall payroll process and integrates it with HR features to keep track of time and attendance. All taxes can be filed directly from the system and tax reports can be generated for employees.

It is suitable for businesses in a variety of industries, including legal, financial, nonprofits and education.

Pros

Customer service has been easy to work with. There is a lot of reporting features available and with the ability to customize.

Cons

Running some reports can cause the software to run a little slower than normal. We havent had it crash but its slow.

I think the amount of things you can do with the service is amazing. Reports are easy to customize and pull

Cons

The customer service has been slow to respond and has not had some of the answers needed. The difficulty of doing a large upload

I really appreciate the support that is provided. They are very quick to respond to any problem that I have and also to communicate where they are in the process. What I like best about the product is the ease of looking up information on an employee. Being able to see their history at my fingertips is awesome.

It runs a little slow sometimes, but there is really nothing I don't like.

Recommendations

If you have a small workforce, I would recommend that you talk with Criterion. What you get for the price is well worth it.

I always get fast and great help from the customer service department. The system is easy to use.

Likes Least

I wish I could add fields on my own. It seems that I can re-label fields but not add them on my own.

Recommendations

Use some real life situations to test software, such as hires, rehires, salary, and job changes.

Pros

It is truly an HR software built with HR end users in mind. The fact that positions are separate and allow you to track FTEs is logical versus some that I previewed that make simple things like EEO codes driven by the employee record versus the position record.

Cons

Flexible report writing features, or lack thereof. Getting data back out of the system in the form of reports is not user friendly.
