The product and service are top notch. An integral tool in my cloud-based bookkeeping business
The service - immediate, responsive and very helpful Set up options - I had help moving my initial clients from other software programs and Rise made the process really easy The day to day usefulness - I find Rise so much simpler to use than any other cloud-based options I have tried. If I need to make changes, I feel confident knowing I can do most of them myself and if not the support will be there for me Big Win - Rise is located on the West Coast which gives me and my clients with weekend cutoffs almost another whole day to get our info entered into the system
CONSThe only con I can think of is that there is no direct syncing to my Xero accounting software. I am hoping this is coming soon though!

Rise Payroll
Overall, I really like Rise and the issues I pointed out are not enough to make me think of switching to another platform.
PROSEase of setup and use. Very quick to learn and the support is amazing
CONS*It can be time consuming to create a report to get the exact information you're looking for.*Not all screens have the same functionality - search an employee: sometimes you can tab after typing the name, sometimes you have to hit enter*When you're entering time in the grid, the headers aren't locked in place, so you have to scroll up to see what column you're in when*Workers Compensation isn't configured to correctly calculate premiums for remote workers in other provinces - this results in manual calculations and lots of extra time. There needs to be a field that overrides the province of employment since the province of residence is what determines the WC rates.

We wanted to remove the in-house processing of remittances.

Stay Away
Very poor and deeply disappointing. Companies like this give the software industry a bad name.
PROSThe promises that were made up from but never materialized.
CONSPossibly the worst experience I have ever had with a software vendor. Misrepresented and oversold up front. Exceptionally poor support.
Reason for choosing Rise
We were told there was integration with Netsuite this was actually listed on their website but did not exist. They removed the website reference later. Fortunately we know how to use the Wayback machine. There was no explanation when presented with this information. One of the reasons we chose Rise was that we were told a ATS module would be released shortly - did not arrive in the entire time we used the product.
Reasons for switching to Rise
It seems like Rise provided more functionality.

First Impressions
I like that there are many features that are important and the user experience is great for the employees. The chat feature is great and I've always had a positive interaction with those I'm connecting with there. Those that are part of the help-desk team in the chat feature are wonderful. The Goals section of the software is really great.
CONSThere could be some improvements made with the software specifically with the time off approval flows of having tiered approvals and some more flexibility with the performance review section and check-ins. The implementation lacked effective communication and there were times where we felt abandoned. We also implemented Rise Health as our broker and I'm disappointed to say that this was a terrible experience. After speaking with the [sensitive content hidden] of Rise, it appears that many of the procedures that are supposed to be followed were not and we're still having issues with the implementation at two months post launch. Until Rise and GSC can work more seamlessly together, I would not recommend implementing Rise Health.
Reasons for switching to Rise
We were looking for a new benefits plan for our company and Rise Health seemed like a great option. With the free Rise Optimum Plan it saved us a lot of money. Additionally, the features that Rise offers within the performance section were superior to what we had with Humi.
