I find the mobile app useful and it's convenient having everything available in one place. The app is handy as I can check my shifts from my phone, see my working hours and request time off without having to ask someone every time. #### Cons The app can be a little slow or glitchy sometimes, and there have been occasions where I've had to log back in. It has bought a lot of value to us in terms of providing us with a secure program which has less errors, saves us time, provides improved visibility and clear staff communication (in real time) all of which serve to reduce the level of stress previously experienced with alternative scheduling methods. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 4/5 #### Pros I really appreciate the user friendly layout and simplicity of use that Rotacloud offers while providing an excellent array of tools for scheduling. As a smaller, independent, single location business we have not found a need for the pro functionality but it is nice to know it is there if we ever require it. Scheduling is no longer the chore it used to be since this program offers us multiple options for visibility together with some neat shortcuts to save time inputting. The customer service is above and beyond with quick response times, great tech support and lots of clear communication. Our staff find it easy to use too which is a definite bonus. Probably the best thing for us is that it offers great value for money which, as a hospitality business, is very much appreciated in a volatile, financial climate. #### Cons There is very little not to like about RotaCloud since the team are continuously striving to improve the functionality of the product. There are a couple of things that I would like to be able to do that currently the software doesn't support. One is to be able to apply the Leave Embargo tool to the Availability Tool to prevent staff from trying to find a loophole around that. It would also be nice to be able to modify the scheduling calendar to fit our monthly work cycle. We don't operate on a calendar month but rather are offset 22nd of each month to 21st of the next month. Neither of these are deal breakers for us though as the rest of the application is excellent. Finally, an "Undo" function for when I accidentally delete or overwrite existing published shifts or copy a month's worth of information incorrectly!! #### Reasons for choosing RotaCloud Ease of use. The small, personal feel that the RotaCloud team offered (and still seem to have maintained to this day despite growing). No incentive was offered It was a positive experience and easy to use for me. Most actions were a click of a button. I liked the fact that it gave flexibility to set start and finishing times if staff were required to come in outside of usual working hours e.g. to attend training, or when called on short notice to cover sickness etc. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros Rota cloud was easy to use for clocking in and out, shift approvals, it was good value for money, it also had mobile access which made it easy for managers to use, each staff had their own pin and the system would also capture their pictures when clocking in which made it more secure and reduced chances of other people clocking in on behalf of someone else. Shift allocations were easy as you could have at a glance view of the Rota for the week or Month. As we have separate department dealing with payroll I can't really comment on this but from what they used to share, it was easy to calculate what staff should be paid each month etc. #### Cons Initially it didn't give option for managers to put a cap on maximum hours staff could work in a week so that an alert could be come through to notify managers if someone was exceeding their weekly hours which might have required further approval from the manager to override this. #### Reasons for switching to RotaCloud Decision came from the top management and it wasn't up to us to decide which product to work with. --- ### Highly Recommend - Overall rating: 5/5 - Reviewer: Beata K. - Verified reviewer: Yes - Industry: Retail - Company size: 51-200 employees - Product usage: Used daily for more than 2 years - Reviewed: April 2026 - Review source details: This review was submitted organically. No incentive was offered We tried another company before which really put us off rota software however, as a small team we really wanted to streamline our processes and with some trepidation tried to find another provider. RotaCloud offered what we wanted and suits our small team. The staff love having all the data on their phones for hours worked and holidays. It makes booking and keeping track of holidays really easy and I also use RotaCloud to keep HR documents attached to each member of staff and log HR issues. From the very beginning, it was very easy and initiative to use. It has made shift allocation and staff management part of my job seamless. It has also made it possible to track and capture staff attendance and punctuality through the clock in and clock out system which shows not only the clock-in time but also the location, giving a sense of security for not only the people we support but also the staff. The availability of the mobile app helps during emergency shifts to know what staff member is available and quick assigning of shift. Took around 10 min to get an idea of how it works then you learn as you try different things. So much easier and better than any other I had tried previously.
