### Our Analysis of Sling's Pricing Plans

We've thoroughly analyzed Sling's pricing plans to help you determine which option best aligns with your scheduling and workforce management needs. We've examined each plan’s features, benefits, and limitations to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of Sling’s offerings. Sling provides three distinct pricing tiers: Free, Premium, and Business. Each plan is designed to address different scheduling and communication requirements, fr...

om basic shift management to advanced time tracking and reporting capabilities. \_\_Free plan\_\_ Sling's Free plan is a suitable entry point for small businesses or organizations with straightforward scheduling needs. This plan is available at no cost for up to 30 users and includes fundamental scheduling and employee communication tools to streamline your processes. \_\_Pros:\_\_ - \_\_User limit suitable for SMBs:\_\_ Supports up to 30 users at no cost, making it accessible for small to midsize teams. - \_\_Core scheduling features:\_\_ Includes essential tools such as shift scheduling, time-off requests, and shift availability management. - \_\_Team communication:\_\_ Offers news sharing and private messaging capabilities to keep your team connected and informed. \_\_Cons:\_\_ - \_\_User cap limited for certain types of businesses:\_\_ The 30-user limit may be insufficient for the needs of multilocation businesses and larger teams. - \_\_No time tracking:\_\_ Doesn’t include mobile time tracking, timesheets, auto clock-out, or any other time-tracking features. - \_\_Limited reporting:\_\_ Lacks advanced reporting capabilities for analyzing labor costs and productivity. \_\_Premium plan\_\_ The Premium plan builds on the foundation of the Free plan by adding essential time tracking and workforce management features. Priced at $2 per user per month (billed monthly) or $1.70 per user per month (billed annually), this plan is designed for businesses that need more robust capabilities. \_\_Pros:\_\_ - \_\_Mobile time tracking:\_\_ Enables employees to clock in and out directly from their mobile devices, enhancing flexibility and accuracy. - \_\_Labor cost management:\_\_ Provides tools to monitor and control labor expenses, helping businesses stay within budget. - \_\_Overtime tracking:\_\_ Automatically identifies and flags overtime hours, reducing compliance risks and unexpected costs. \_\_Cons:\_\_ - \_\_No kiosk time tracking:\_\_ Still lacks dedicated time clock stations, which may be necessary for certain workplace environments. - \_\_Limited reporting:\_\_ Although improved from the Free plan, reporting capabilities aren't as comprehensive as those in the Business plan. - \_\_Basic PTO management:\_\_ Lacks the advanced paid time off tracking and management features found in the higher-tier plan. \_\_Business plan\_\_ Sling's Business plan offers the most comprehensive suite of scheduling, communication, time-tracking, workforce management, and task management tools. At $4 per user per month (billed monthly) or $3.40 per user per month (billed annually), this plan provides advanced features for businesses with more complex needs. \_\_Pros:\_\_ - \_\_Kiosk time tracking:\_\_ Includes dedicated time clock stations, ideal for physical workplaces where employees need to clock in and out on-site. - \_\_Comprehensive reporting:\_\_ Provides detailed reports on hours worked and wages earned, offering valuable insights for informed business planning. - \_\_Adds task management:\_\_ Offers the ability to attach task lists to shifts and includes task templates to save managers time when assigning routine tasks. \_\_Cons:\_\_ - \_\_Higher cost:\_\_ The most expensive option, which may not be justifiable for businesses with simpler needs or tighter budgets. - \_\_Potential feature overload:\_\_ Smaller organizations may not utilize all the advanced features, resulting in unnecessary complexity. - \_\_Learning curve:\_\_ The additional functionality may require more time for team members to master compared to simpler plans. \_\_Free trial\_\_ Sling offers a 15-day free trial for all paid plans, allowing businesses to test the platform's capabilities before committing to a subscription. This trial period provides complete access to Premium or Business plan features, enabling you to determine which option best suits your organization's needs. \_\_Conclusion\_\_ It's clear from our analysis that Sling offers flexible options designed to accommodate various business sizes and scheduling, time-tracking, and workforce management requirements. For small teams with basic needs: The Free plan provides remarkable value at no cost. With support for up to 30 users and essential scheduling features, it's an ideal solution for organizations with straightforward scheduling requirements and limited budgets. This plan works well for volunteer groups, small retail shops, or emerging startups that primarily need shift coordination and basic team communication. \_\_For growing businesses with time tracking needs:\_\_ The Premium Plan strikes a balance between affordability and functionality. At $2 per user per month (or $1.70 with annual billing), it adds crucial mobile time tracking and labor cost management features. This plan is particularly well-suited for businesses that need to track hours worked and labor expenses, but do not require dedicated time clock stations. \_\_For established organizations with complex requirements:\_\_ The Business plan offers the most comprehensive solution at $4 per user per month (or $3.40 with annual billing). With kiosk time tracking, advanced reporting, sophisticated absence management, and task management, this plan addresses the needs of larger organizations with multiple locations or complex scheduling scenarios. Businesses with strict compliance requirements, multiple shifts, or significant hourly workforces will find the most value in this plan. When selecting a plan, consider your current team size, scheduling complexity, time-tracking requirements, and budget constraints. The 15-day free trial provides an excellent opportunity to test Sling's capabilities before making a financial commitment. For businesses anticipating growth, it's worth noting that annual billing offers a 15% discount across all paid plans, providing value for organizations ready to make a longer-term commitment to Sling's platform.

Reliable scheduling and easy shift swaps, but the mobile app can be laggy.

4

Overall, Sling has made my work life much more organized. I use it daily to check my shifts and clock in. It’s very user-friendly, and I didn't really need a "tutorial" to figure out how to use it. It’s a solid 4-star app—it does exactly what it needs to do for scheduling, though a smoother mobile experience would make it perfect.

Functionality

Pros:

I love that I get instant alerts when a new schedule is posted or if a shift changes, so I never have to guess when I'm working. It's really easy to put a shift up for grabs or trade with a coworker without having to text everyone individually. Having the schedule, my time clock, and team messages all in one app is much better than using multiple platforms.

Cons:

The app can sometimes be a bit slow to load or "cramped" on a smaller screen compared to the desktop version. Occasionally, there’s a slight delay in notifications or syncing when my manager makes a last-minute change. On the mobile app, it can sometimes be hard to see the "big picture" of the whole team's schedule for the week compared to looking at it on a computer.

Cons:

There really isn't anything that I dislike about it. The only thing I find annoying is that employees are sorted by first name only--and I can't adjust to sort by last name.

Reasons for switching to Sling

Cons:

That I couldn’t easily share task lists with the rest of the team that was working. We also didn’t have the functionality to have a document repository that was app based for the staff- the app was limited.

Reasons for choosing Sling

Because it would automate what we were doing manually in Google sheets.

Functionality

Pros:

Sling has a feature in which you can view your own schedule or you can view the entire schedule, including other people's. This makes it very easy to see what you want to see - your schedule, or who is working next, before you, or on a shift you might prefer. Sling also provides an ability to switch shifts with individuals rather than everyone on the team which reduces clutter to those who cannot work that shift.

Cons:

There is not much about Sling that I did not like other than when multiple schedules are input there are occasional errors. Sometimes the shifts at my job overlap for different responsibilities, which we schedule into Sling. When scheduling those roles or switching shifts among people, Sling sometimes errors out or states that there is an overlap multiple times before allowing us to schedule.

Reasons for switching to Sling

Connectteam did not offer the features we wanted to start using.

With Sling's many ways to communicate, via pages, messages, and the scheduling portion, we found it the most useful. We are working with the free version only, so under 50 employees, but we do have seasonal hiring, so in the summer months we go over that number. We make it work, but it would be great to have flexibility to sometimes go over that number if needed to keep it a free user system.
