TimeClick by Hawkeye Technology is an on-premise time and attendance system for small to midsize businesses. The solution serves a wide range of industries including banking, engineering, health care and retail.

With TimeClick, employees can clock in and out themselves by selecting their name from a customized menu and entering their password. The solution is also capable of clocking time for breaks, lunch and other ad hoc initiatives. To ensure the times recorded are accurate, TimeClick offers a feature called “Workstation Sync Time;” which allows each computer on the network to automatically synchronize their clocks to one computer. Administration mode within the software provides password-restricted access to the entire data and is accessible from any computer on the network.

All new users are provided with 30 days of free support to assist in the initial implementation of the program. After that, businesses can choose either an annual support plan or a “per incident” fee plan. All support requests are handled by a United States-based team and can be reached via telephone or through TimeClick's website. For additional assistance, multiple videos are offered for walkthroughs of the software.

TimeClick is suitable for companies looking for an on-premise time and attendance software that operates on a Windows operating system.

Cons

There's not much to be disappointed with. If I had to identify something to improve on, it would be cloud access.

TimeClick has been an excellent tool to manage employees clock-in and clock-out time. Based on what is logged for an employee, their pay is calculated easily every month.It has an easy to use interface and helps the HR team.

Integration with several 3rd party plugins may be useful. For e.g. it can be integrated with Expensify, quickbooks etc.

Easy to use. Has many features, even though my organization does not need all. I paid an one time fee to buy the software rather than using the subscription and the price was reasonable.

Cons

There really isn't anything negative about it. If I had to come up with one I suppose not being able to choose to sort by both first name and last name is one. Otherwise, the software does what it's intended to do.

A while back I had suggestion for a future update and passed it along to the support team. They listened! The update is live in the new version. Very responsive!

Pros

The support team is excellent. I rarely need them, but when I do, they go above and beyond. They also take the time to make sure you are up to date on new features.

Cons

In the older version, I found modifying times a bit tedious, but the new version seems to have addressed this issue.

It is also integrated with QuickBooks which helps further with payroll management. For our finance people, it's helpful tool as they can decide the pay of a team member based upon their office hours for a specific month.

We are a small company and prior to TimeClick we used Excel to track time. We depended on the "honor" system and employees were to enter the time on the PC at the start of the day and the end of the day and we had a separate column for the amount of time taken for lunch. Recorded time wasn't always accurate.

Pros

TimeClick is extremely easy for the employees to clock in and out. It is easy for me to modify if that is necessary. And on payday the report provides all the information with no Excel calculations on my part. I am confidant that the hours on the report are exactly right.

Cons

The only minor complaint is that the User Guide is not as detailed as it could be. However, the support is outstanding making this a non-issue.

Advice to Others

You have nothing to lose to try the 30-day trial. It was easy to install and train the employees. I love this software.

We switched from an old-fashioned punch clock to this software a couple of years ago. It is a vast improvement to our old system and we are generally pleased.

Pros

Multiple areas to personalize the system and classify the employees (ability to assign departments, etc.)

Cons

Unable to download reports to an editable spreadsheet (one usage example would be to auto-fill a template that we use to upload the hours into our payroll software.)

With so many people working different hours it is so nice to be able to keep track electronically! This way no one forgets to turn in their sheet and it is so easy to clock in and out

It is hard to track vacation/sick time on the app so that is kind of a bummer but we have other ways of tracking that so we make it work.

Pros

user friendly, easy to use, we love it, I have my PTO accrual on it now and I love that I do not have to do the accruals manually. It is so simple. The Help Contents Manual was perfect.

Cons

Have not found anything I do not like yet. I am waiting to see if my payroll company can link up with this but I have not checked into that yet. I will call if I have any problems.

I don't really use the software but it was easy to install. However, your support team is amazing. One of the customer rep has been helping me out the last 2 days and I really felt like he wanted to get this done and even stayed after his normal duty hours to make sure my client was happy. I really cannot thank him enough.

Cons

the only thing that I could even come close to being a con is the fact your company does not have an internal remote software. Dealing with remote access all day I know that my client sometimes barely know how to turn on a computer much less install a program such as team viewer.

The program is very user friendly. Having the program on everyone's computer keeps us from having a line standing at the old time clock at quitting time. Our customer support person Bryan has been fabulous. Based on other software we looked at the value was very reasonable. Bryan has taken our suggestions for some changes (such as the detail report to include overtime versus having to do another report for the overtime and save paper) we would like and has been very understanding on what these mean not only for us but how it could be beneficial for others.
