About Virtual TimeClock

Virtual TimeClock is an employee time tracking solution that helps businesses set up custom clock-in and clock-out rules, monitor time spent on specific tasks, record hours across multiple locations and more. It enables supervisors to monitor team members' arrival, departure and lunch break based on the internal clock or external internet time servers.

Virtual TimeClock enables team leaders to track time offs across several custom categories, such as vacation, sick leave, holiday and paid or unpaid annual or monthly leaves. Administrators can configure password protected and role-based access rights across custom group time clocks. Additionally, managers can utilize the report writer tool to generate summary and activity reports across departments, tasks, jobs, clients and cost centers.

Virtual TimeClock facilitates integration with several third-party payroll management applications, such as ADP Workforce Now, Paychex Preview and CheckMark Payroll. It is available on a perpetual license and support is extended via phone, documentation, email and FAQs.

Very stable and high quality product that is great for SMBs

Pros:

It just works. That is not an easy thing to say about any software. Windows and Microsoft Office fail constantly and have zero support. The very few times that I have had trouble over the last several years, they were very responsive and helpful. Problems were resolved on the first try. They also actively keep working to make the product better. Over the years, the feature set has increased to the point that we aren't even using all the features they have. They send out useful information periodically, but they aren't spammy about it.

Cons:

There are a couple minor gripes that boil down to my personal preferences in UI. I would appreciate a menu of buttons for each user without needing to right-click to access something as basic as a time sheet. The most basic in/out options appear with a single click.

Great product

Overall, this is a great product. As a customer for so long I don't remember, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a time keeping program for a small office. Other than a few minor issues, I enjoy the simplicity & ease of use. I have looked into other programs and none offer what Virtual TimeClock offers at the same price.

Virtual TimeClock is simple & easy to use - both for management & employees.

Cons:

1 - When adding multiple punches, it's time consuming to be forced to re-click each item. Meaning I have to re-click the "Stop" check box and then also select the Activity after each manual entry. 2 - Holiday hours not being broken out separately. Instead of being calculated into the Regular hours, I'd like to see them broken out into their own category. In our instance, holiday hours being paid at time & 1/2 do not count towards their overtime hours. I would like to see hours broken out as: Regular, Overtime, Holiday, Total.

Reasons for choosing Virtual TimeClock

Their pricing is ridiculously high and came with features I do not need.

Great Tool but not exactly what we needed

It was simple to use, and everyone in the company could use it with ease. It was easy to explain and was intuitive.

Cons:

We preferred to use a mobile app so users could punch out off-site if needed. We did not like that we needed a dedicated computer for the time clock.

Great product for the value!

Have been purchasing Red Cort for several years for Cosmetology high school programs and will continue to do so!

Ease of use for Cosmetology programs, especially high school programs! Reports are great for recording student hours.

Cons:

The only thing I have heard is the schools wish it would work on a chromebook. Nothing else that I can think of.

Great change from our old time clock

It's been a pretty smooth transition from our old time clock program. I really like the fact that the support is in the same time zone as our office and not on the other side on the planet.

It is pretty easy to use. Only had a few questions to setup the program for our office. The lady I spoke to was incredibly helpful and nice. Our old time clock took up to thirty minutes to run a payroll report. I've not run a full report with this one, as we are still just setting it up for use by employees, but the report feature runs so much more smoothly.

Cons:

I would like the ability to set the number of breaks as well as the length of them.

Reasons for switching to Virtual TimeClock

We were experiencing quite a few errors which led to the data base to become corrupted. Also, payroll reports took way too long to run. With the tech support on the other side of the world, it was difficult to communicate with them when in a time crunch, such as when payroll was the next day and errors were occurring.

Mystery of old software disappearance

So I had 18 version bought 2019 used up a month a month ago when company crashed. I was able to recover the software from an old file and installed the key from the email back then. Everything works for a day and the everything disappeared for the computer hard-drive include the original recovered files. When I try to look up the software key in the email. That disappeared as well. I felt so weird that everything coincidentally happened at the same time. By the way, two other emails related to the software purchase are still there while license key email magically disappeared. This is just so weird! Does anyone know what happened?

Everything about the software itself is great. I didn't have any problem using version 18 then and so I hope the new version should improved a lot more, I think. Company policy not too sure though.

Cons:

I wonder why I need to pay an additional tech support since day one. I felt as if the software was sold as the customer's own risk. So tech support would be where the company will actually make their money.
