Great for Remote Worker
I love Paylocity. My only con isn't an everyday issue that many users will encounter. It was mainly my bad luck. I would highly recommend this product for those that work remotely. I love that I don't have to get to a computer to clock in and out. The app is super easy to use, a child can figure it out in a jiffy.
PROSclock in / clock out from ANYWHERE Keep track of your hours with a simple click missed punch? No problem. you can fix it yourself (if your HR didn't lock you out of it that is) Impressions section: Your company can give you praises and make it public.
CONSThere was a time that my bank account got compromised so my direct deposit info needed to be changed. It took my HR department a long time to get my info updated and for my pay check to be sent. I work remotely so Paylocity sent my paycheck to my company's office then my company sent the pay check to me through snail mail... with bad luck usps lost the letter.... getting my paycheck processed again took an entire pay period to receive my paycheck.

Paylocity has been a great tool for our company!
Our overall experience has been very positive. The implementation process went smoothly and felt like we had a good team at Paylocity helping us get started with the product. The system was able to meet our pretty sophisticated needs and has been a very good investment if you are looking to move into a more user-friendly product.
PROSSome of the best parts of this product is how everything is connected and works well together. There is no disjointed feeling as you move from one part of the software to the next. This makes life as an HR professional, payroll preparer, or general accountant a lot easier. We appreciate being able to place all of our HR processes and especially onboarding into Paylocity and eliminate a lot of busy work behind the scenes.
CONSWe wish the workflow software was a little bit further along but we have been told it is a priority in development right now so that is good to hear.

We chose Paylocity because it was a good price for what they offered and the site was very user-friendly. Other products we looked at were not as easy to navigate.

We made the switch because we needed a software that was a little bit more sophisticated and more connected across all of its programs. Netchex could be a very good tool for some companies, but we needed one that was a little bit more advanced for our needs.

Paylocity, a low-cost human resources and payroll software package
In short, Paylocity is a robust solution for human resources and payroll management, guaranteeing transparency and security of user data.
PROSAs a digital marketing freelancer, I'm often asked to lead web projects (that exceed 1 year's work). In these cases, I team up with other freelancers. I've enjoyed using Paylocity software to manage human resources and payroll. In my experience, I've really appreciated the online payroll processing features and the fast data entry. This saves an incredible amount of time, and everything is done in complete transparency.
CONSI can't think of a single negative aspect of using Paylocity's payroll and human resources management software; I find it very efficient for payroll and human resources management.

Very glitch software, if you want to be irritated and take more time to do everything in their app,
I would never use this payroll software again, even the app is not operational.
PROSI did not like anything everything was very complicated and did not work. Do not get this app until they fix it.
CONSEvery single aspect that I tried to use in this software did not work, it was so frustrating and took me so many more hours to complete and all of my co workers say the same thing.

Quick and Painless
Access to everyone's records and time make it easy to work with multiple people at the same time on getting an issue solved. The physical time clock is great for all the employees to use. Correction was quick and easy for any clocking in error or HR issue. The transition of data from the other payroll software was done perfectly.
CONSThe issue of the first set up was terrible. We had a team to help us transition and get the set up for the system changed about three times before we could actually move forward. Running reports can also be hassle if you are looking for something specific.

Solid Payroll Platform for Small to Medium Size Businesses
If you are a small to medium size business, this could be a great vendor for you. However, if you predict growing to a large enterprise level company down the road, it may be best to consider other vendors who can scale with you. In our experience, we outgrew Paylocity's functionality, and its system limitations caused us to move to another vendor. That is not to the fault of Paylocity however; I'm sure Facebook doesn't use Quickbooks!
PROSPayroll platform is fairly robust compared to other systems targeting the small/medium size business demographic. Customer support and Reporting Suite is above average. I never had any problems with working with them at a company with around 150 employees. Cloud-based system is fast and nimble. Year end process was fairly painless. Can handle high-frequency payroll (we process weekly). Low processing time from pay period end to payday (Next day). Pricing is competitive!
CONSThe software is comprised as modules. Not an all in one solution out of the box. We utilized the HRIS and Payroll modules of Paylocity. I prefered the Payroll system over the HRIS, which seemed to be more of an afterthought. Implementation and support quality is not the best I've seen compared to other vendors. We ultimately transitioned to a larger payroll vendor with more robust functionality once our company grew to about 250 employees and do not regret it.

Compliant with domestic and global employees when it comes to payroll
We automated some features that we used to do with spreadsheets that saved time during the time we used Paylocity.
PROSThe best feature of the product is, goes well with large companies as the payroll feature can be automated and gets compliant with tax and other entity related specifics when having global employees with different rules and regulations.
CONSGood for small or mid-sized companies but would need to adapt for very large companies.

Adequate employee experience
I enjoy how I can review my past performance evaluations and take trainings in the system.
CONSSometimes it is hard to find the information I am looking for. It is also difficult to remember our company ID and this will not auto populate for the sign in page. This is very annoying.

Payroll Processing Platform with integrated human resources tools
Overall, my experience with Paylocity has been very beneficial. Each obstacle that our company has faced in terms of HR and payroll, Paylocity has been able to guide us through. Paylocity is a great platform for facilitating and administrating employment details.
PROSThis software comprehensively ties together many aspects of a human resources department. This makes it easy for a small business owner who may not necessarily need to hire a individual dedicated human resources to facilitate the necessary components of providing wholesome employment. Paylocity has strong reporting and data processing in addition to robust customer support that effectively and efficiently help troubleshoot potential obstacles.
CONSIt seems that some aspects of the software don't exactly tie together. For example, when entering an hourly employee group in HR and Payroll, I often forget to add them into employee groups in time and labor. Subsequently, the supervisor has no way of tracking the employee's timecard. Additionally managing benefits in the employee's payroll file versus the HR file. Although this may be because our company does not fully utilize the benefits package that Paylocity offers.

If it weren't a hassle to switch systems, I would switch in a heartbeat. This is a terrible platform and I am unimpressed with the company as a whole.
PROSWe needed an HRIS that would house all employee info, reviews and process payroll. It does this. Barely.
CONSCustomer service is horrendous. We were told we would have an "Account Manager" That indicated to me that I'd have one person who answer my emails or phone calls. That is not the case. It's a customer support center staffed with new employees who don't know the system. I have walked them through their own system on multiple occasions. We have had a handful of critical payroll processing mistakes made because the "account manager" walked me through the process incorrectly. I spend about 2-3 hours a week on the phone with customer support to get answers to what should be simple questions. I've requested supervisors multiple times, they have promised to get back in touch, but no one reaches out. You are on your own. Implementation was a disgrace. Our first implementation consultant disappeared and no one knew where she went. The 2nd one started but disappeared for 2 weeks and suddenly reappeared. Despite hours upon hours to meetings to implement the system, the most basic things like PTO policies were still incorrect. I've been fixing implementation errors for over a year now. Complete lack of good UX. They need a new UX team. The Help Section is laughable. Not even their customer service can find help articles that are applicable. They have a lot of reports, but finding what you need is nearly impossible.

Happy Customer
No system is perfect, but we are overall happy with Paylocity. They have multiple modules that we just keep adding on that make connecting with employees and having one system for multiple aspects of the business very easy.
PROSPaylocity is easy to use for users. I love that the company is always improving the software and values feedback. Our account manager is always helpful. I manage payroll and Paylocity makes it very easy to complete and I love how there are so many things that integrate with the system. For instance, our 401(k) provider connects, as well as the benefits module.
CONSThe reporting is not very user-friendly for what we use it for, especially expense reports. But overall they are always making improvements and asking for feedback, which makes me hopeful that the reports will improve more.

We previously used Quickbooks for payroll with Replicon for expense reporting. We wanted a payroll software that made it easy to have employee expense reports flow into payroll and a system that employees could access to make updates to their own demographics.

Paylocity really works for us
Overall the customer support is one of the best I ever dealt with.
PROSall the features for the price...I can post jobs, manage applicants, onboard them, and move them to Payroll with one system...
CONSThe employee training and compliance training is lacking and I don't appreciate them charging a price for these features that seem to me should be included.

Some flaws, but still probably the best HR system I've used.
Overall experience has been positive. Can escalate service issues with Paylocity sales staff as needed.
PROSThe system is constantly being updated. Previous issues I've had with the system, such as confusion on how job descriptions are listed have been fixed in future updates.
CONSReporting can be a struggle since many standard reports from Paylocity involve merged cells without one single row of data. Customer service is very hit or miss depending on responds to the requests.

Paylocity User 5+ years
The system works well once configured properly and its price point is strong; the system has a broad set of capabilities to meet a wide range of needs however implementing these various solutions can be frustrating as the customer support model is, in my opinion, flawed. A single point of contact is assigned however anything involving system changes or functional additions requires the issue be assigned to an 'internal team' where queues tend to be extremely long.
PROSThe product has excellent, though not intuitive, report writing capabilities.
CONSImplementation was a challenge; platform has week customer support often taking days, or even weeks, to have issues resolved when they crop up. The system is complex, as most powerful systems are, and finding employees with experience with the platform is difficult.

Great system that's flexible and I can pay for what I need
I love the interface and intuitive location of tabs. Finding what I need is easy and the search gets me answers to most questions without having to call tech support
CONSI don't like that my account manager keeps changing, I understand turn over is high currently but it's much better to not have to "fill in" each person I call on whatever issue we were working on. There is currently a gap between what we can do remotely on the mobile app and what we can do in the browser based system. I need more functionality on the mobile devices.

Their ability to give me what I need and not some giant package with things that cost me but I'll never use... Paychex was comparably priced but the company didn't seem like they would keep up with product development as well as Paylocity.

Paylocity rocks!
Overall, it's great to have everything in one place and to have the different modules interact with each other. Much easier than previous products we've used!
PROSI love the idea of having almost all of the aspects of my job in one place! For the most part, the software is easy to use. The Impressions in the Self-Service section is used by our staff for our annual awards, as well as, a way to say good things about your co-workers. Paylocity ROCKS!!!
CONSOnboarding can be a bit difficult to use. I had to send the link 3 times for our last new employee because it wouldn't let her in. It's not as instinctual as I'd like.
