Workable is a standalone applicant tracking system that helps users find and hire the right people. The program replaces email and spreadsheets with a simple way of advertising jobs, receiving applications, filtering them, setting up interviews and making great hires.

Workable is a Web-based system with an intuitive design so users do not need a consultant or hours on the phone to get started. They can get up and running within 15 minutes, and nothing needs to be installed. Since the hiring begins by spreading the word about the position, the program provides advanced job listing tools that publish one submission across a host of the most popular job boards from a single screen.

Once applications start rolling in, Workable allows users to keep track of possible hires and important data. With no data entry required, the system automatically compiles applicants' resumes and social media accounts and presents them in complete applicant profiles, including pictures to help users remember applicants in every stage of the hiring process. Email notifications are also sent whenever users receive new applicants, so users can see where each potential hire falls within the pipeline. From there, the process for browsing, screening and interviewing applicants is streamlined within one cohesive program.

Used this system while consulting a company on hiring. The software was fairly intuitive, but was not really my preference. Lineup seemed correct for the pricing and the team was friendly enough.

Cons

I didn't really like the layout of the recruitment pipeline and the software seemed to have some jumpy areas between each stage of the cycle.

It's a great tool for the hiring process of companies who have to fill-in multiple positions and want to attract a large pool to be able to get the best candidates for the positions open. You can post jobs on multiple job boards easily which includes some of the big job boards as well. It's an effortless way to manage candidate database for each job. With the resume parsing and background screening, it helps choose prospects without the tedious activity of going through the resumes one by one as it filters out resumes according to your parameters. Easily track prospects and schedule interviews.

Cons

There are some setbacks when compared with pricier and bigger ATS. However, for the price, it covers the basics well.

Big fan. These folks got their product right. Highly recommend, especially for small teams with limited time to devote to the recruiting process. Totally streamlines everything!

Pros

I've been involved in hiring for over a decade and have never found as great a tool as Workable! You can do just about everything through its interface: search, view resumes and screening questions, outreach, set appointments that sync with my calendar, compare candidates, share candidates, rate and comment on candidates (great for teams), easily follow candidates through their path to hiring, buy advertising with all the major job portals. This is everything I need to make hiring a snap!

Cons

I really only have 2 comments regarding ways to improve:
1) When printing resumes, allow them to maintain their original formatting submitted by the candidate
2) Integrate a feature like Assistant.to for scheduling so that I can give candidates several different time slots to choose from that automatically sync to my calendar

It's a good company and a good platform that is easy to use. If you are looking for a more cost effective option and are okay with losing some of the features you would get with a bigger ATS, Workable is a good choice. They do focus on rolling out new features and I am excited to see what happens next with them.

Pros

Very easy to use system, and the interfaces are intuitive for admins, users, and applicants. Each job goes out to 12 free job boards and candidates find it very easy to apply. Also allows candidates to apply with LinkedIn. Tracking of candidates through each job process is very easy with the "Bins" that peoples can flow through. Email templates, interview templates help keep the process simple and effective. Workable allows for each integration with HRIS, screening tools, and other interfaces.

Cons

Not much customization available depending on the price point you are willing to pay. More of an out-of-box software and does not allow the flexibility you would see with some other bigger ATS's. Some features you

I had my HR team use this software and everyone told me that starting from maintaining the resume data till the candidate is onboarded the product employs all streamlined methods to ensure the data is stored correctly without any inaccuracy.

Clean Design / Terrible Company

I started a trial to find out how Workable could benefit our business and needless to say, I was unable to complete the Trial because I was asked to provide a Utility Bill or "Other business documentation" that includes my business address.

Upon providing Paychex Invoices and Employment Tax Forms (sent directly from the state) that they ("Workable") will not be able to approve my job postings based on their guidelines and that this was their final decision.

It seemed like Workable would have been a great choice if you can get past the verification process. Below is the email I was sent.

"
Hello Joey,

We have passed this business documentation to our technical team for review. They have come back to us and based on the information provided, they will not be able to approve your postings again based on their guidelines. This is their final decision in regards to the jobs on the account, unfortunately.

In our experience, it is unlikely there are any changes that will bring it within our guidelines for publication. In this case, it would be best to try posting on the job boards directly.

I am sorry I can't be more helpful in this case.

Pros

The overall look and feel of the interface is clean and easy to navigate. The pricing seems to be on the fair side.

Cons

Regardless of being a paying customer, you receive terrible customer service. The company cannot be relied on if you run into any troubles with their system, actually reaching someone capable of assisting you is near impossible.

The Workable ATS has the possibility to customize the hiring process for each vacant position and this will make it more flexible than any other ATS without this feature. Also, we can assign each hiring project to different members of the recruiter team. Various reports based on mostly important hiring KPIs would be another advantage. Workable also have a chrome extension named "People Search" which is so useful in sourcing candidates from the web.

Cons

"People Search" capability has some problems in gathering updated data from different sources. Moreover, the application form designer has some issues in put some fields mandatory.

Workable is an amazing product and it is ideal for recruiting in a professional work environment. I would highly recommend.

Pros

The program is easy to understand and use. The program offers flexibility in designing communication templates and the application. I appreciate the ability to directly link to my calendar.

Cons

Though I believe Customer Service has done a very nice job of helping me learn the system, it can be frustrating when I am looking for an answer quickly. Communication starts with an email or chat session which is not often returned until the next day.

This is a great product and I'm very frustrated that in a very short time they have cut out the smaller companies with their pricing. I really had not planned on looking at other ATS systems but worry what else is ahead for the "legacy" users.

Pros

Up till now I have been very happy with this product. New enhancements have slowly been coming out and when a bug is found it is reported and fixed in acceptable time. Support is very reactive and easy to work with. When I chose this software, I liked that they charged by the job and not by the user, since I'm the main one that uses it with 6 others using the interview part of the pipeline and we only need about 10 jobs at one time.

Cons

For my small boutique consulting firm, what turned out to be a pro has now turned into a con. the cost is the main issue.

I love the people search feature. If you guys can fix its limitation would be great.

Pros

It integrates talent search with the hiring pipeline.
When you identify a talent with "people search" you can access to his/her information from all the main social networks like Linkedin, Facebook, etc. Contact information is the most recently used.
Customer service is eager to answer all the questions.

Cons

"People search" doesn't show a lot of the people that should be able to find. For example, I searched for QA Engineers in my City and did not identify at least 15 people I know are working as so for more than 5 years and are registered as so in many networks like Facebook and Linkedin. This makes me think that the people search feature doesn't work properly.

Quick hiring process, time saving, useful insights and tools, flexible, enhancing communication with full visibility of applicants. Better than alternatives since the job posting from different well-know websites. As a free of service, I was completely satisfied with the result that Workable contributed to my team.

Pros

First of all, for the startups who have really limited budget, Workable has a free plan, exactly what a startup needs. You can punlish up to 5 positions which is adequate for a small size company.

Secondly, the integrarion with indeed.com and glassdoor is boosting the number of applicants and increase your visibility even if you are a small company has no budget for promoting jobs.

As last, the employee acquisition funnel that they created is really helpful and communicating with your team member about different applicants helps and saves time a lot.

Cons

Even if I really like this tool there are some points that O did bot find user friensly in terms of interface and experience.

The acquisition funnel should be easy and obvious in terms of interface. While passing between different profiles, sometimes you feel lost.

Searching different profiles, you do not easily understand in what stage of specific person. Also, qualifying, rejecting options are sometimes leading to wromg actions due to the layout of buttons and interactions.

Workable allows us to keep track of all of our job postings and all of the candidates who applies for a position at the company. We have them do assessments, upload their resume, submit links and much more. You can take your candidates through different steps like reviewing CV and phone screening. It has a nice clean and simple format.

Cons

They can improve on the visuals of the software, make it a bit more easy on the eyes or maybe allowing us to personalize the background a bit.

Collaborative hiring tool that can really help receive, track and enhance the process speed with candidates applications. Workable can adapt to different selection process and receive multiple inputs from each part.

Pros

Workable allows the possibility of having a custom selection process (including having visibility of your selection process flow) with easy collaboration from more people. You can set up different inputs from different people in the whole process, and also receive application and track them in the same platform.

Cons

If you want a deeper level of personalisation you'll need to resort to their API (for instance, to fully customize the website to receive application).

Keeping candidates organized, create own pipeline stages, communicate with others or with candidate directly.

Cons

Messages meant to be sent within the company were sent to the candidate by different stakeholders, ie more than one person made this mistake which means this is a flaw in the design. Talent pool was also a bit confusing, I'd like to move candidates from Talent Pool to a pipeline and vice versa.

Workable isn't the most feature-filled option out there, but I kind of like that about it. It's to the point, good integrations for the most part, and effective. You also have lots of customizable options with regard to your desired pipeline flow.

Cons

Some more integrations would be great, but my primary request would be for them to lower the number of clicks required to achieve certain functions. It can be incredibly repetitive with unnecessary clicks.

Workable has a very aesthetically pleasing user interface. It's generally easy to post jobs and have them be published on many boards. I really like that there's a dedicated job page for the company with each job having it's own dedicated page. I really like how you can make different options mandatory/optional/do not show easily from the same page.

Cons

Sometimes the pages and the options seem complicated. Trying to find where everything is takes a little getting used to

The software itself is easy to use and you learn quickly where everything is and where to find it, it is a feature-rich software and everything you need exists. It's accurate and simple wort the money.

Cons

There is not a lot of cons but it can be hard to navigate at first but as I said you learn quickly. Some packages is more expensive and the basic package lack some important features.

Generally a good software for recruiting except for timeline and dates. Easy to use and handle.

Cons

What I dislike and face difficulty is the historical timeline. The software does not indicate the historical date of submittal or date of comment/note. It just says 10 days back or 1 year back (Which may be approximate) . Dont have exact date to pull up candidate email from the outlook if needed ! Also if you reply to a workable email message the reply is partially cutoff and does not appear on work

Cons

Used Workable for a while now and have been more or less satisfied. New enhancements have been released lately and when a bug is found it is reported and fixed in reasonable timeframe. It integrates talent search with the hiring pipeline which is nice. When you identify a candidate with "people search" you can access to his information from all the main social networks like Facebook, Linkedin, etc. which is important in today's recruiting field.

Cons

They bill US companies from their UK system and your bank will charge exchange fees, which is annoying. They didn't let us know this initially. The plans/subscriptions are confusing and require a lot of reading between the lines.

Workable is great for the recruiting and onboarding process helping you keep track of all applicants and move them into bucketed status for follow ups and segmentation of your applicants.

Cons

The email integration is funky and doesn't always work well so that's a disappointment. The interface and UI could be a bit more modern.
