Workday is a cloud-based enterprise resource management (ERP) suite suitable for business of all sizes in a variety of industry verticals. Available modules include financial management, financial performance management, human capital management, analytics and professional services automation.

Workday’s financial tools include accounting, transaction management, financial planning, procurement, project accounting, report generation and analytics. Audit tools, inventory management and grants management are also included. The Prism Analytics module allows users to upload data from other software solutions to create consolidated reports.

The human capital management module offers workforce planning, recruiting tools, talent management, compensation and benefits, payroll, time and attendance, learning and more. Workday also offers a module for educational institutions that includes recruiting and admissions, curriculum management, records, advising and financial aid tracking.

Pricing is per month. Support is offered via email and through an online help desk.

I loved working with this software, it made life in Recruiting so much easier!

Pros

It is clean and user friendly, the interface is not busy with too many things. It has everything you need in one place!

Cons

There are some things they haven't rolled out yet but I know they will have it on the roadmap soon. If they do have something but you haven't turned it on, they are very helpful in rolling things out.

I like the way it tracks PTO. You can put in any date and it accounts for how much time you have requested and how much you will accrue in the future to help you manage your PTO.

Cons

Sometimes it take a few extra steps then should be needed to review an item or topic. You have to click into an item and then click into it again before it pulls up the information you need.

I love love love the WorkDay app. I use it to clock in and out everyday, as well as submit my weekly time card. It is easy and clear to use. Being able to look up my payslips by date, download and export them is especially helpful. It's also super easy to request and track your time off and sick time.

Cons

There are certain things that are only available to managers. For example, if time has already been submitted, you as an employee can not go in and adjust that time. This is especially frustrating when you just need to correct a simple mistake (you entered check in time as "PM" rather than "AM").

The best part about this software is its interface. It is easy to use and and the navigation is simple and straight forward.
All around I say because it is the only app you will need for various HR tasks, like leaves, merits, history, personal information and pay slips. I also appreciate the feature where the employee will be able to see how he/ she is rooted in the organization through the org.chart.

Cons

I dont like about the app is that sometimes it does not work outside the office network but sometimes it does. Verification also takes a little of your time. Probably if some information has a lot of tabs or information it would be nice if the tabs would be laid out beautifilly.

More 'human factors' analysis & efforts would definitely help the User Interface experience!

Pros

It does attempt to bring a wide variety of HR-related functions into one interface, but that in itself can make it more daunting to end-users.

Cons

Its screen layouts and navigation can be confusing or frustrating, not being able to go 'Back' without having to re-expand the various collapsed component listings. Also, functionality is sometimes obscured behind icons vs. visible/readable menus.

The layout is engaging and user-friendly. It has a nice, modern and friendly feel to it. Filling in long forms can be a pain though because every time you click on a section it unlocks it for editing (even when you didn't mean to) and then you have to wait for it to save and re-lock that section when you move to another part of the screen.

Cons

Sometimes when a task is assigned, it is not always clear what is required to complete the task or what comes next after the task is completed. Also on some forms you don't realize until you click Submit that there were mandatory fields which needed to be filled in.

There is no perfect enterprise HR solution out that that I have found, but Workday is among a few that really can do it all for medium and larger organizations. Just be prepared for some headache and learning curve in the beginning phases.

Pros

The templates for task completion can be very useful. Once I had the dashboard fully configured, it was much easier to navigate and had a nice look and feel to the UI. It seems organized and works best when you have an organization with a dedicated HRIS person or team. It is fully end-to-end and has lots of features.

Cons

It can feel a bit overwhelming at times, especially in the beginning. It feels like there are many unnecessary "clicks," and it seems like it takes you in circles. The implementation was very rough, because there were so many questions and confusion all around. We could have done a better job with change management.

The system is very easy to use for an end user. The entering of time worked and time off is very intuitive and easy. The quicklinks to all the different features are useful for easy navigation. The historical data such as past payroll checks is also very useful.

Cons

Training can be very time intensive as it takes time for users to get used to the system. But once the users are trained well it is very intuitive system for the end users. The process of performance review can be tedious as each change requires upper management approval.

Our school uses it for all pay. From a user standpoint, it is very easy to get the information I need at a quick glance without having to navigate through a lot of pages.

Pros

I love the dashboard that shows all the pertinent areas for payroll; payslips, pay history, time off, quick links to earnings and deductions. It is easy to see past pay year by year or payslip by payslip.
I don't have to set up the backend, but from a user standpoint, it is very easy to use.

Cons

It used to be difficult to print payslips, but it has changed recently and that difficulty has gone away.

Workday is an intuitive and reliable software. I use it most for my expenses and it helps me report and keep financial expenses organized so I can get reimbursed in a timely and efficient manner. I know my management team loves it definitely makes the payroll department's lives much easier!

Pros

I've worked at a couple of large tech companies, and expensing things was always a hassle. At my newest job, I have to travel to some of our different locations for training, and I use workday for my expenses. I can easily upload my expenses, and have it approved by a manager, and get compensated very quickly. I love that Workday is available as an app on my phone as well, this makes it really convenient for me to always stay up to date, and log my expenses wherever I go. Expenses are only one of the features of workday I use, and this is a software that is very expansive . They also have 24 hour support, so they're really good at getting back to you if you need help.

Cons

I wish I had the ability to customize the layout of the interface. There are certain features I use more than others and I wish I could choose to remove things I don't use.

Having so many people in the company, it is very time consuming to manage HR related things for everyone on top of having new recruits. It is easily accessible for the current employees (can't say much for the new employees). I can access and make changes at home or at the office.

Pros

I like the ease of entering time worked and the time off request policies. That system works very well for my colleagues and I am able to revise entries and easily submit it to my supervisor. Sending reminders to everyone about updating info in workday is another good feature that we utilize often. It is also nice to have the quicklinks feature as it makes things easier to find in a time crunch. The payroll feature has been useful to me as well, I like being able to go back and see past checks.

Cons

The process can be tedious. Whenever I make a change, it goes through upper management. The goals and self appraisal process were also very confusing. There were multiple steps and I didn't see why it needed to be that way. They should've just made everything available online instead of us having to upload a word document of our goals and appraisals.

Cons

Even though the UI is clean, there's some instances where I'll be trying to find a certain page, form, or piece of information and it isn't in an intuitive spot so you can waste alot of time trying to find one thing. I also dislike how sometimes when I submit a form and realize I made an error I can't go back and edit it.

We used Work Day to manage all of our payroll, employee benefits etc. It was an easy interface to have access to all of your work related information in regards to benefits and pay.

Pros

It is visually set up in a way that makes it very easy to navigate. You can find all of the information you need very easily. I did not have an experience with the customer support portion of the program. I am also not aware of the cost, to know if it is of good value, but overall is a good product.

Cons

I felt like the scheduling module could have been easier to use. It seems that you have submitted leave requests, but there are additional steps needed.

Hands down the most clean and friendly UI. It's so easy to find what you're looking for because Workday has each category listed on the first screen, and from there is super easy to navigate to the topic you need to know about. I like how it's an all in one place for anything I need information on: time off, compensation, goal setting, and org. structure, to name a few. I have used this software at several jobs before and it's just so easy to pick up on.

Cons

I personally haven't had any issues for the couple years I've been a user of this software. I'd highly recommend it to a larger company looking for a HCM system.

Pros

It's very easy to use, responsive and simple. :It does all i need it to do, and without errors and coding issues. Really great, simple, labor tracker.

Cons

It has a slightly unpolished look to it, but that's not why I use it. They could definitely work on making it look a little cleaner.
