Kronos for employee Pay roll

Pros

This software is not for the smaller type businesses. It pairs well with large organizations that have multiple aspects they research for their business. Such as daily reports on over time, bereavement, holiday pay etc. Can be a good tool to manage breaks and early ins and out. Can create a pattern of schedules for those employees whose schedules don't change.

Cons

There's not too much negative other than it's a large system and there are so many components to it, that training must be an on going aspect for management to take in order to continue being successful using the system. I've been using it for over a year and am still finding new features.

the only thing I could possibly say is a con about this product software is the color of the interface. It would be nice to have the option to customize that per user specifications.

Timekeeping on steroids

Pros

Pros

Keeps track of my PTO availability.
Can see history of PTO taken.
Easy to schedule PTO once determined when it can be taken.

Cons

GUI is not intuitive .. you have to figure out the menu system to get to where you want.
As an employee, can't see PTO by work groups.
As an exempt employee, I still see screens that are for hourly employees.
Unable to do "what if's ..." example: how much PTO will I have accumulated on a certain date?

Accountable, easy implementation

Customer support is great. Submitting tickets is easy and they are quick to get back to you. We have an issue that has been going on 2+ months now and they are diligent in trying to resolve it and continue to trouble shoot the issue and bring in other departments that might be able to help.

Ability to clock in/out from PC
Web based so it is always up to date and staff can access from anywhere.

Cons

Some of our pay calculations do not always work right - have to manipulate the system by hand. The employee registration process has been hard for some staff due to switching computers constantly (they are nurses so they move departments/computers often).

Overall a positive experience

Pros

I like the ability to pull almost any data we need on my own. There has been only a couple of instances where we have had to ask Kronos to write a custom report for us and I'm sure with some further training we might be able to do those on our own in the future. The other great experience is the people - just about everyone we've worked with is amazing, from the implementation teams to the technical support staff.

Cons

The customization during implementation was very involved, which I guess can be a pro or a con. There have also been several instances where the system was down for almost a full day. This is completely unacceptable.

Great features and lots of flexibility, with great reporting tools but can be a bit clunky with the user interface.

Overall we really like Kronos. There are just a couple things that would really help the SAS to be great - mainly making the user interface more intuitive and simplified.

Timekeeping works really well and does everything that we need for our business.
Reporting functionality is really robust. Love it!
Mobile app is getting better and better. Glad to see new hire paperwork on there now.
Lots of good reporting options now that we're using the scheduler and timekeeping.

Cons

Workflows are difficult to build and the functionality can be limiting
Advanced scheduler needs a lot of work. Too complicated for the end user - managers and employees.
Employee self service should be more customizable. End users are looking for simplicity and easy navigation.

Time Management Pro

It made my life easier

Pros

Kronos is user friendly soft that everyone can easily learn how to enter your time, absent form etc. Kronos allowed me to better track my time sheets, punch in and out at any location on campus, when I was on meetings or conferences. Also easy to submit you leave request and you can see if it was approved or not.

Cons

Sometimes Kronos was not working when I need it. After restarting device it was okay.

The next step in Scheduling software

Pros

We use Workforce in conjunction with Kronos Telestaff. The Workforce software helps manage the payroll end and Telestaff provides our users with easy mobile access to their schedules. Workforce is customizable for any size workforce and the training is very thorough.

Cons

The back end build is complicated and requires a dedicated team to implement.

Good enough I suppose

Takes a lot of attention to manage and up keep. Customer support is hard to get in contact with, they refer you to their help libraries and on line posts 99% of the time. They can take weeks to resolve what should be simple issues.

Won’t work on a Mac

Fix it for all operating systems.

Pros

You can’t find a pro when you can’t get it to load properly. I’ve tried every internet browser available and it still will not load properly.

Cons

Won’t work on a Mac. Their IT can’t figure out why and wants to blame JavaScript. I gave them complete access to my computer and they couldn’t get it to work.

Worked great until we reached the Labor Level limit

Pros

The system provides an easy to use punch in/punch out process using bio-metric fingerprint scan, there are customize-able dashboards and reporting functions, and if you have a straightforward business model without the need to segregate costs into multiple Job Orders this is a great system.

Cons

The Workforce Ready terminals do not support barcode readers, you have to select everything from a list. They also don't display in the same way you have your Job Orders or Cost Centers setup, they only display as a list view, with some qualifiers for searching. If you need detailed job costing, there are a lot of additional steps required to set up and manage all the data, and there is no inherent connectivity to ERP systems. Middleware is provided to help move data in and out of other systems, but it all has to be custom programmed, which you as the customer are required to provide. If you are using a standard job prefix, there is a limit of 750 records in any one folder, and once you surpass that limit, the functionality of the "Tree View" (which is how everyone is accustomed to viewing a file structure) reverts to a "List View" which is absolutely useless for a large collection of data due to the way it is formatted. Once the limit is reached, the previous functionality can not be restored, which causes a lot of heartache for people that have been accustomed to visually finding the Job number and then have to learn how to search using "Like" or "Between". Knowing this up front would have prevented the purchase of the product, but it took literally weeks of dialog with support to just discover what the issue was when it occurred, and the software engineering team had no interest in fixing the code that caused it.

Nothing is ever perfect for every user but this is close.

Pros

-The real time line additions for shifts.
-There are easily read tabs for navigation.
-Customer service was great.

Cons

-I wish you could add a line to an entire group at one time.
-It would be nice if you could color code an entire group by their discipline.
-Be able to add notes that can and can't be seen by the employee.
-Separate area for PTO or Time Off Items from regular shift items.
-Be able to hide or unhide lines while maintaining the history.
