About Mindomo

Mindomo is an idea management software, which helps K-12, universities and NGOs create mind maps and collaborate with team members in real-time to exchange opinions. It lets managers create and assign tasks to team members, instantly update project plans and automatically reschedule dependent tasks.

The solution offers a hashtag functionality, which enables teams to filter and highlight certain ideas to strategically present business plans. Businesses can utilize Mindomo to share editable folders or files with multiple departments, setup and analyze project goals and record minutes of meetings. Additionally, professionals can track and monitor the progress of projects in gantt charts.

Mindomo offers an application programming interface (API), which lets businesses integrate the system with several third-party applications such as G-Suite, Dropbox, Evernote, Google Classroom, Canvas, Blackboard and more. Pricing is available for free and on monthly subscriptions and support is extended via FAQs, knowledgebase, video tutorials, phone, email and other online measures.

Mindomo is my preferred online mind mapping tool

Mindomo has been my preferred online tool for mind mapping since they started in 2007. Feature rich, fast, and easy to share and collaborate on maps with others.

Pros:

The time from login to actually working on my map is very fast compared to other online tools. Very good, minimalistic design that don't get in the way of your thinking and working.

Cons:

No filtering of multiple maps (i.e. what tasks are due today from my 5 project maps). Hoping for better filtering options in the near future.

Simple yet powerful for daily use

Pros:

Maps can be exported in a wide range of formats. A free version is available (supporting up to three maps only).

Cons:

The UI is very minimalist with few icons and the functionality is not always intuitive. The learning curve is a bit steeper than with equivalent tools such as Xmind.

Smooth and intuitive mind-mapping Experience

I was honestly impressed by how natural it feels to move branches and reorganize my ideas in Mindomo. I can rearrange things with just a couple of clicks, even in big maps, and everything stays clear and structured. It makes working through a project, from messy brainstorming to the final slideshow presentation (also made in Mindomo, which is amazing). Much easier.

Cons:

If you’re on the free plan, you’re limited in export options. It’s not a dealbreaker, but just to be aware that all export options require a paid license.

Mindomo is a great tool for creative users who want to build visually structured spaces for brainstorming. Pros:

The ease with which drag-and-drop tools allow you to create a layout that is easy to navigate, while maintaining the layout's organization even when there are a number of branches.

Cons:

Cloud-storage require a paid subscription to access. But my Overall Experience is not Bad Everything is good.

Reasons for switching to Mindomo

I made the switch because Mindomo provides better customization, smoother navigation, and more control over mind-map structure compared to the previous tool.

Best free mind mapping app

It's the only mindmap tool I've stuck with. I even tried a software called The Brain, which does what MindModo does, but it's still rather inflexible with it's structure. I love MindModo's clean interface, but can get as complex as I want it to. I feel like I'm drawing out my mind, but don't have to spend the time drawing it out by hand. Very dynamic, can't sing it's praises enough.

First of all, love that it's free! It's got a great range of free features that allow me to be productive using it, not just 'test drive' it. Lots of styling options for at-a-glance color coding (and branding) Very flexible - I feel like I can really map out my mind - it's not limited to just one structure Offline mode is great MOBILE APP actually Functional & Usable!

Cons:

Would be great if it could integrate with project management platforms, i.e. turn maps into tasks, but that's a tall order and not really a con. I don't have any cons because it really gets the job done

It has what you’d expect from a mind mapping application. Fairly easy to use and a low learning curve.

Cons:

The visuals are very basic. I’ve used a few mind mapping tools and I found the designs to be unappealing.

Pros:

What I like most about this program is that you can make mental, conceptual maps, as well as diagrams in a very simple way. It is a program that does not require previous instructions and that is stored in the cloud directly. You can export your work in different formats without any mishap.

Cons:

Really what I do not like is that to access some formats you have to pay a certain membership. In general, it does not have many cons
