Cvent Event Management is a cloud-based solution that helps midsize organizations and enterprises with venue sourcing, online event registration, budget management and payment processing. The solution enables event planners to track the attendance of multiple events and capture relevant data.

Cvent Event Management enables event managers to create event calendars where attendees can view upcoming events as well as sync them with their calendars. The solution provides budget management capabilities that track funds across multiple events, calculate each meeting spend and overall variable costs.

Cvent Event Management has a reporting feature, which offers built-in reports and also allows users to create customized reports. The data from all reports can also be exported. Other features offered by the tool include custom event websites, contact management, mobile websites and social sharing. Cvent offers integration with other third-party applications, which include Salesforce, Concur, Marketo and Eloqua.

Pros

It has lots of features that you may or may not want to use. Having them available and tied together make it great for our attendees

Cons

The biggest downer is having to play by Apple's rules causes us to not use it as our with our on "wrapper". So we end up selling Cvent while selling our own events.

Cant register for an event

Companies with this level of support (e.g. cvent and facebook) should not be in business.

Pros

sounds like it should be good. They talk a good game, but it is a lie for them to say "Help is just a click away"

Cons

Doesn't allow me to register for an event. Error codes for several days now. Went to support where it says "Help is just a click away", 10 minutes and 30 clicks later in their maze to avoid interaction and I finally called only to be put on hold for many minutes. I hung up.

They cannot get tracking to work... they have no support team knowledge and mis sold it in the first place!

worst CX I have had in a long time.

Pros

This is only for a 3 month campaign... after that I am rid of them
I will never need to speak to them again... ever.

Cons

the tracking doesn't work... don't believe them
Mis selling - anything to close the deal
Client success abandoned us before they had ironed out any details.
Support doesn't return calls
Account manager doesn't return calls
Its clunky
oh.... and the tracking doesn't work... don't believe them

Pros

Cvent has great functionality. It registers and checks in event attendees, it is tech friendly with QR codes to register people. It manages the financial transactions, helps with seating charts and is very effective for really large events.

Cons

It is pretty expensive and the initial quote always ends up exceeding value. The customer service is not very reliable, i never get straight answers because it has to do with an added fee to reburse registrants or an added fee for analytic functionality.

Great Product for Looking up Venues

This is a great program that we have been using for 5 years and will hopefully continue to work with them in years to come. We are even looking into using their event app for our next big conference.

Pros

We do a lot of meetings throughout the year, and Cvent is the quickest way that we hear back from hotels. I usually can get a response from all the hotels within a week. I also like to use Cvent for Event Registration. It is a great program to keep track of attendees.

Cons

The only problem is that when creating your Event Registration there is not a lot of flexibility for sub questions that need to be answered when attendees are registering.

The software was pretty intuitive to use, once you go through it once it was easy to be able to navigate. Clicking into attendees and checking their status and history was easy as well.

Cons

Support was great and responsive at first, but was sometimes spotty. If we had an issue with something, they would find a workaround but after a while those temporary workarounds came back as an issue. In short, they were finding short term "bandaid" solutions instead of understanding our event needs and figuring out the larger problem.

I think Cvent is potentially a good program, and it does get a lot of use in my organization. I think the people that use it regularly enjoy its functions.

Cons

However, Cvent is completely opaque for someone who is not fully immersed in its functionality. There are things that I wish to do, that I consider relatively simple, and I have not been able to perform those tasks. Whether that's due to Cvent itself or organizational constraints, I can't say, but it is incredibly frustrating.

As a Salesforce administrator, my primary concern is getting our data into Salesforce. The data coming out of CVent is easy to work with, but we primarily use it because our events end users like it and find it easy to work with.

I have a love/hate relationship with Cvent. I've used several other event management tools, and can say that Cvent is the most complete of any I've tried. It is a purpose built software that serves its purpose well. However, it can be difficult to use.

Pros

There are some really nice tracking features. Unlike many other event management tools, Cvent seems to be more contact based vs. event based. This means that you can track the same people more easily through a series of events, email, and participation history. It is very robust. If you know what you are doing, you can set up an event registration with any combination of options (sessions, various attendee types and registration paths within the same event).

Cons

If you need a simple but stylish event registration, Cvent is not for you (but the price probably already told you that). They obviously recognize that the Standard registration is way to complex for the casual user and the end user interface (the person registering) looks like it was built a decade ago. To address this, Cvent has rolled out "Express" and "Flex" registration to try to simplify the process. In my opinion, these products are awful. They have tried to dumb down the software and make everything drag and drop that it is very difficult to use effectively. There is very little ability to customize the look and feel of event webpages, forms, and emails in this new system.

I have realized it is important to be trained. We have done more training and success groups with Cvent, which have helped tremendously.

Pros

Cvent has great customer service. I have found that all of my problems have become concerns of Cvent. They truly invest in their partners and customers.

Cons

I absolutely feel as if Cvent has a lot more down the pipeline. They are well versed in the industry but there have been others : Wix, Weebly, Wordpress who have already made similar products for small businesses.

My first exposure to CVENT was when I attended a conference that was using their tool. I was super impressed with how seamless the conference's registration process went, that I scheduled a demo myself. Once I onboarded the tool with my team we ran into several roadbumps, but in the end thought it really helped our registration process run smoother.

Cons

Thei customer service is lacking. It was very hard to get issues we ran into fixed. We are skeptical to use it again for an event because it was such a headache trying to get their help.

Cons

As an attendee, C-Vent is seamless and engaging. As a event organizer it provides all of the capability to get ROI from the event.

Pros

C-Vent is extremely well designed from both a work flow and a marketing point of view to deliver great event experience to the attendees, presenters and sponsors.

Cons

This is a premium product with many choices for selecting features. It can be pricey if too many unnecessary features are chosen but C-vent customer support assists in getting you what you need. As a business process, prospecting for attendees and speakers is left to the organizer to undertake as well as all of the process building to elicit and foster that audience.
