Value for Money

Will continue to use this software, as I have not found anything up to par, especially for the price.

Pros

Having used this software for a couple of years now, many simple features may be overlooked. It's nice to have the "last screenshot" of a machine. Being able to have an install file available is very useful, as is sending specific install files with machine names setup already. The menu options are abundant - send files, send Ctrl-Alt-Delete, viewing all screens, blocking user input if necessary, send/receive files, annotations, etc.

Cons

There are a few quirks that come up every so often, but nothing major, and no deal killers. Creating session groups and giving others permissions can get very tricky and difficult to setup at first. Another feature that could use an update is Wake On Lan (WOL). It's finicky and doesn't always work.

Easy way to gain remote access/control to your computer or to server

Ease-of-use

Value for Money

Pros

This is a very user-friendly way to set up remote server access or remote access to your work computer. I have set this up on several of my computers now and it allows me to get work done from home when I wouldn't otherwise have access to certain files.

Cons

It might require a little IT expertise to set up. Although I was able to do this on my own, it might be best to have someone with IT background to help you set this up at your company to be safe.

Powerful remote assistance / meeting software

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Customer Support

Value for Money

All in all I am happy I switched from GoToAssist.

Pros

It has a lot of features competitors don't have, like remote printing, toolbox and has Meeting capabilities build in as well as remote assistance. You can upgrade to a Meeting from a remote session. Drag and drop file transfer from host desktop to client. Multi-monitor support is decent, but could be better.

Cons

No conference call feature for the Meeting service. Does not leave a remote Icon behind on the user's desktop for future support sessions. This requires a user download and install the software every time. Graphics / screen sharpness is a little fuzzy in some resolutions.

ConnectWise Remote Monitoring - from startup to scale

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Product Quality

N/A
Pros

As an organization looking to both extend our service capabilities (ISV, MSP) and positioned for rapid growth this is a solution that we could both leverage internally and offer our clients as a value-added differentiator. It's extensive library of resources, scalable (from free sandbox instances) to large scale deployment, and the numbers of extensions makes this a great resource for both web and mobile services. As a non-technical business leader, we will rely upon technical expertise for configuration, integration, but the ability to get this set up and deployed quickly is a major factor.

Cons

It suits our immediate goals, but as our ecosystem evolves to include more IoT devices, sensors, and things outside laptops and mobile devices, especially in the health and energy sectors we serve, I'm not sure this would be the right solution.

It works well for MSPs but not for Enterprise

Ease-of-use

Pros

Very easy to use, quick and pretty to look at. There are tons of options for customization and automation.

Cons

It lacks a Knowledge Base and out-of-the-box support for Change Requests and Problems. This may work for MSPs but for Enterprise organizations attempting to follow ITIL best practices, these prevent the product from being usable without spending hours to build custom solutions to fill these gaps. That being said, the cost, compared to other Help Desk software, is hard to justify.

Value for Money

Pros

Easy to use and organize. After extensive research, we've found that this is the best remote desktop control software on the market for us. Easily connect to PCs form one terminal no matter where you are. Easily switch between monitors and open a chat session as well. More secure than RDP.

Cons

I had to dig pretty deep to find cons, but trying to share your screen while in a "meeting" requires input from the other party which can be confusing if they miss the pop up.

I would defiantly refer ConnectWise if you are in the market for a remote tool.

Pros

Some of the pros of this product are the ease of use, the options to add your most used applications to the toolbox so that they are readily available to to deploy, and the simplicity of the layout.

Cons

Some of the cons would be the constant updates, which I understand they are necessary to improve any small issues that they may have.

Very easy to use, lightweight, and functional. It is very reasonably priced and it is easy to navigate users to the site.

Value for Money

Great customer service helps with a (could be) confusing start to an even better product. All within a sound budget!

Pros

Once set up, a great way to remote access machines on a network. Easily distinguish who's is who's once it's setup and working right. Which customer service is GREAT at doing. No matter how many times you call, anyone is able and willing to help with a smile and a very friendly voice alongside patience. It's nice to see a screenshot of the user's screen of their last active desktop to help with troubleshooting or to know if remote access should be used at the time.

Cons

Talking about the ACCESS version of this software. Getting started can be a little confusing, if not difficult. I didn't think it would be a pain to install an EXE or DMG on every user's computer, but it most certainly can be. As the software doesn't pull the machine's user - just the machine name (which can be renamed). However, if multiple installs are going on, it can be difficult to discern who's machine is who's. Wake On Lan is very spotty - especially on Macs and even more so if on Wifi. This was something we wanted and it's aggravating when it doesn't work right.

Most professional platforms like ScreenConnect are hugely cost prohibitive. The top dogs usually want a few thousand a year to start. I suggest giving it a try. Working in the IT industry I have tried almost all remote access tools and I can't recommend ScreenConnect enough.

Pros

So when a user is having trouble with their device I direct them to the support site the through a wide array of options. Most commonly telling them the website and giving them a code or just emailing them an invitation. The user in trouble simply downloads and runs the file and I can connect and start helping them right away. ScreenConnect has a ton of helpful tools and makes it easy to convert one-time sessions into remotely accessible machines. It's really easy to manage a ton of clients. I was used to the best remote access tools and was extremely pleased with the superior quality of ScreenConnect remote sessions.

Cons

Their Samsung mobile device support is limited but having the ability to access large majority of android device screens is a huge advantage.

We run this on a local server and have literally hundreds of machines connected to it. It allows for unattended remote access, attended support sessions, webinars, etc... It has plugins that expand functionality, is regularly updated, and has an active forum/support community. Honestly one of the best purchases we've made as an organization and that's saying a lot.

Cons

We were grandfathered into some older pricing that made this doable. Current rates would not work for us as a non-profit. But the industry as a whole doubled/tripled pricing on remote software packages. :-(

Pros

Love the ease of remote access to clients computers. Screen recording is a must to prove that the work was done. Uploading the download files very easy. Compared to other remote access software the cost is well worth it.

Cons

I've been using the software for over 4 years now and it has helped me support users remotely without subscribing to a monthly service that I don't necessarily need. Customer support has always been helpful if an issue arises and they are quick to respond to inquiry.

Pros

The software is fairly easy to use and lets you stay in control of your hosted environment (if you want to). The technician portal is easy enough to understand without a training manual and the software offers multiple plugins to extend functionality.

Cons

As of late, they have discontinued support for hosting on the Mac OS platform, which is why I originally bought it. They also hint to the fact that Linux support may also be dropped in future releases. I don't think this should be exclusively hosted on Windows servers, since many of the advanced crowd this software is geared for is either running Linux or Mac.

Overall, we're very happy with the purchase and performance and would recommend the product to anyone. It's fast, reliable, easy to use, competitively priced and their support has been great to work with the few times we've reached out.

Pros

I love how quickly I can navigate my inventory, how quickly machines show up once the agent is installed, how quickly a connection is established, and how robust the suite of tools are that I have to interact with the endpoint. File transfers are simple and intuitive (no digging around wondering where the file landed), and the connection doesn't take up a ton of bandwidth so even users in areas with poor internet can still get the help they need.

It's also extremely fast and easy to update the agent on the endpoints.

Cons

I can't RDP connect, only VNC. Sometimes it would be very helpful to connect to the machine without unlocking the screen to the end user. This seems like a basic feature that is standard on many other remote support tools but isn't built into Screen Connect. This is probably the most important feature request I have made.

I wish there was an option to make the chat more "attention-getting" as most users simply don't notice when I start chatting with them if they're not expecting it. I have to call the user to begin their support.

I haven't seen a remote lock (make the HDD inaccessible) or kill feature (wipe the drive after its been stolen and is unrecoverable). This would be a huge help as well.

There have been bugs with "Cloud Administrator" printers getting installed on endpoints that stay there after the connection closes. It's a bug from a previous build that hasn't fully been fixed yet.

Some of the vernacular isn't easily understood (for example, "End" removes the endpoint from the console instead of just ending a session that might be stuck open). If you read through the explanation that's included with each option, it becomes clear but it seems like a poor word choice.

Sometimes the connection gets finicky and takes a minute to reconnect if the user logs out of their windows profile. Thankfully the connection is maintained, but its a bit clunky.

We've used many similar tools (LogMeIn, GoToAssist, etc.) and none have worked as well as ConnectWise Control in our experience. We've been using it for almost 2 years now and haven't run into any issues as of yet. It makes supporting our users so easy. Even though most of our users are in the same building, many times it's just faster to remote into their computer than to walk to their office. Our machines are a mix of PCs and Macs and it has worked flawlessly on each since day one.

Pros

This software is so reliable, stable, and easy to use. It provides many was to connect too. You can install an agent on a remote computer, email a link to a user, or just have them visit a website and enter a code.

Cons

For us, it costs a bit more than the alternatives because there is no educational discount, but it's still very reasonably priced.

Ability to work from my home-office saving me travel time and expense. Ability to work on multiple clients simultaneously. Increased customer satisfaction by being able to respond to customer calls while they are on the phone and without the need for scheduling a site visit. Ability to host the server myself, providing me more value. Reasonable/flexible license pricing that fit my business model.

Cons

Security configuration a little cryptic. Ability to create a signed installer package from the guest page unclear. (Admittedly, i haven't called into tech support but scanned through the knowledge base for answers)
