TradeGecko is a cloud-based inventory management solution for small to midsize retailers, wholesalers and distributors. The system combines inventory management operations and online commerce.

TradeGecko features a B2B e-commerce portal that allows users to sell wholesale directly to retailers through customized storefronts. It also offers demand forecasting, customer relationship management (CRM), order fulfillment, accounting and sales reporting capabilities.

TradeGecko supports multi-channel sales and integrates with platforms such as Amazon, Shopify, Bigcommerce, Magento and WooCommerce. It also integrates with Xero and QuickBooks accounting solutions and supports multiple currencies and tax types.

Users can set reorder points per product and receive real-time updates to enable improved tracking and analysis. The solution provides customized reports with charts and graphs on inventory and sales trends. Users can add new customers or browse existing buyers and their order histories through a mobile app.

TradeGecko is available as a monthly subscription. Support is offered via knowledge base and videos.

Do your homework, other inventory management systems offer much better features and functionality for same or similar price.

Pros

Im honestly having trouble finding a pro. Its cloud based? Yes but most offer this anyway. It does have reasonable integration with Xero(limited sync options), but most offer the anyway.

Cons

The actual software is very basic compared to what else is out there on the market. For example, you can only create purchase orders and associated landed costs in a single currency. So if you're an importer, and you buy from suppliers in another currency, there is no option for different currencies(which is likely f you import goods) for landed costs i.e. GST, Duty etc. So this means there is an overly complex and manual process required. There is also no drop shipping. You cant go back and edit invoices once created. You can only delete and redo.
The support is literally THE WORST support I've encountered. Its basically email support with a cpl hrs of onboarding.
All this would be fine if the software was sold properly for the price, its just not worth it.

Been using trade gecko for years and sticked with them as our business has gone strength to strength. However I feel they have really gone down hill. Before their support was great, now it feels like nothing is being done, all the time its users money but not them.

Pros

There are a lot of features. B2b portal is great. I dont think there are many softwares out there which do everything TG can do

Cons

A lot of things keep breaking and nothing is being fixed. Every time a new problem comes up, customer services just deny it until after about 5 or 6 emails you prove then they say their engineers have identified the problem and are looking into it. Although months later and still no update or no fix.

Right now the sales app is broken in terms of sync issue causing duplicate orders to be put on the system (a real admin nightmare when you have to double check each time to make sure you're not sending the same order again).

The import/export system is broken as if there are lots of people using it, it crashes and takes hours to upload a small file (critical if you are trying to load new products on the system or change pricelists).

The picture system was changed however it does not update the main pictures. Plus you have to double upload pictures a lot of time for them to appear on the sales app

The system often lags when creating/amending invoices when the server is loaded (you click save and after 1 minute it tries to discard your changes and start again, or just crashes).

The shopify connection crashes if you're inventory is too big (few hundred products +)

I been using Shopify for quite some time now and Shopify has limited functionality when it comes to managing stocks level and sometimes stocks may not be accurate. I was looking for an inventory that works well with Shopify and TradeGecko so far is the most stable. Also the B2B platform is a win win for us, I don't need to hire a web developer just to create our own site! This is superB! Clean design and simple looks and feel.

Cons

Hoping to support Dropshipping soon on future plans and also !This make the platform perfect! So far the system is good!

You are better off getting quickbooks.

Pros

Tradegecko has a very pretty interface but lacks any robustness whatsoever. It's easy to navigate. Really friendly customer service.

Cons

Reporting is god awful! It's as if no one at the company had ever worked in sales before. What Sales Manager runs reports on when orders were taken in but not when it ships? You can't run a report by ship dates! There is an API limit which makes the whole inventory aspect of TG useless when it interacts with our warehouses' software. We can't rely on the Inventory in TG at all. We even offered to pay more money to get our API increased. They couldn't do it. I have to use multiple screens to process orders. The reporting is one of the biggest pieces of garbage with TG. I absolutely hate this program and find myself yelling at the computer because it is so bad. Too many horrible aspects to TG to mention in one review. Don't do it! Don't buy it.

- Tradegecko support: receive an email confirmation when opening a new ticket or replying in a ticket. Only replies by tradegecko are email notified. I, for example, open the same ticket 3 times in a row as it disappeared after a couple of minutes with any feedback = it appears that the support team moved the ticket for further investigation and there for it was disappearing in my account (MY ACTIVITIES)

Had a problem with the Magento stock status, took a while to explain, understand and proceed but an adjustment by the tech team saved us = so big ups for standing open for malfunctions/adjustments!

- Limited magento connection: not fully supported (tax class / discounts / excl tax price / visibility setting / categories)
- 3PL Exporter: sales invoices = 5 templates available but not 1 of them contains all data. For European law we need to extract a monthly overview of all the invoices included company name/company number / total price/tax price / tax class. In order te get this data I need to export basic and quickbooks template and then mix 2 complex CSV files... Would be an improvement to provide an template that contains all data of provide custom template on request.

- branding & identity: there is no preview function to see the different Document Specific Settings when making an adjustment
- inventory products: import new products = not able to include the re-order points (CSV) = manually editing afterwards
- inventory products: update existing products = not able to change the re-order points in bulk (CSV)
- inventory products: bulk actions = there is no publish to magento feature (publish to underlaying variants)
- inventory variants: there are no selection boxes at the left (like with the products) = not possible to bulk edit variants / publish to magento / publish to B2B

The software systems are easy to use. They make keeping track of inventory easy. I find the software easy to use as a person new to retail and wholesale sales. The B2B system works really well and our clients find it easy to use. The customer service is excellent. I have found the staff to be very helpful and respond promptly when a problem is raised. I also like the way the software is constantly improving as Trade Gecko listens to the needs of their customers and finds workable solutions to add to the software. The fact that it was started by New Zealanders also is brilliant given we are 'Kiwis' too :)

I've been using TradeGecko for almost a year now. I love that it was relatively easy to populate, and that there's always great support from the team, the few times I've needed it (and they are keen to listen to suggestions for ongoing development) - but I really love that my wholesale customers can order B2B from the site, and my WooCommerce store links into it too - so both my wholesale and retail customers are easily managed.

This is a relatively new program, so there are sometimes things that are not quite as I want them yet (e.g. a certain report isn't available yet) but the team are willing to listen to suggestions and send them through to the development team for inclusion in the (hopefully not too distant) future.

Recommendations

Check that you can get good, fast support when needed. When we were setting up, TG team members skyped us for truly personal service!

We buy stuff from overseas and not many inventory program (especially in Thailand) can handle multi currency and multi warehouse. It was a bit of a hiccup and overwhelming at first. But everything works after awhile. My personal experience is that no matter how good the program, it is still the user who will mess it up (by moving stock without entry in tradegecko, by selling without issuing sales orders....)

My team and I are loving the platform and are using more and more of its features every time, such as the barcode and pick/pack system that was recently introduced.

Pros

I like how it follows the actual process and workflow of supply chain and procurement. From manufacturing, to managing sales, orders and suppliers, it has all the features under one roof, making it the brain of our business.

Cons

It is not open source, some features are not localized, running a business in China and the UAE requires some more adaptation, customization are a bit limited and need to be addressed as a feature request.

A very good inventory system that I would recommend to other companies that want a clear and easy to understand solution that can be up and running quickly. New integrations are being added quickly, and this make for a strong package.

Pros

Very easy to use, quick to understand, and straightforward. Very quick to implement and intuitive. Customer service has always been open to new ideas, and seeing these ideas taken up and used is great.

Cons

TG needs an ordering and invoicing framework that works for fashion items. A single line for the product and colour option then vertical columns to fill out the sizes. That is the way orders and invoicing has been done in fashion since the beginning of time, and without this TG is hard for fashion businesses. To have a purchase order or invoice that has each style/colour/size variant on a separate line is massively tome consuming and needs to be fixed immediately.

I greatly appreciate that the platform does a very good job of keeping information in reports and charts for easy review.
I would like the moble app to have more options for the sales team and myself to make more adjustments on the go.
Another point is that the system need so much meticulous detail added at all times that if you do not then number are messed up. If you could stream like so the system could try to cagorize it.

The only thing I am not liking at this point is there is no specific way for me to compare years / months / weeks to each other without loading separate pages.

Overall, TradeGecko is a solid tool that I use every day and cheerfully recommend it to others.

Pros

TradeGecko is, for the most part, intuitive and easy to work with. In the course of a day of sales and customer support activities, I will move between Orders, Inventory, sometimes, reports and stock information. I can smoothly move back and forth and find what I need most of the time with few problems.

Cons

TradeGecko's infrastructure needs some help in the throughput department. On heavy-volume days, the software appears to bottleneck somewhere, and we'll either get slowed down, or have to do a browser refresh/cache flush to get focus back. Also, the filtering functions in the orders listings needs to be more flexible when using tags so we can get more exact results. Being able to do "NOT" comparisons would be a great addition.

- Analysing most profitable SKUs and looking and trimming down width of catalogue is quite helpful with the customisation features and reporting in Trade Gecko
- The CSV spreadsheets for bulk updating products, prices etc. is very powerful, helpful and saves much tedious time

Pros

- Ability to track & set up many different types of SKUs
- Ability to create additional tier of pricing outside of cost, wholesale & retail (example if you have a unique account with special pricing)
- Reporting and ease of building reports

Cons

- Inability to produce statements for tracking money owed (need to plug in with an accounting software such as Xero)
- At times the support phone calls, whilst very responsive and helpful, take a while before a solution is found

Given the cost of the software, it might now be feasible for a company that is just starting but if gone for, this software does have some solid features. If running a multi-store website, TradeGecko might lack some features.

It has been good but customer service not always easy.

Pros

I like that you can have different stock locations, this makes it helpful for the different warehouses we have and store locations. It syncs well with Quickbooks and Shopify.

Cons

* I think there should be an easier way to move line items on a sales order or purchase order
* I think there should be an easy report that tells you what items you need to order to fulfill open purchase orders.
* The sales are registered in the month they are entered it would be great to run a report of sales that are finalized as per shipping.
* The Packing Lists could be more user friendly

My overall experience is very positive and I could not be without TradeGecko

Pros

I like most how great the customer support is. It is quick and resourceful. Also TradeGecko is constantly upgrading itself and keeping up with cusomers needs.

Cons

It takes time to learn how it works and you have to keep up with new integrations. So what is actually a pro is also a con.

Pros

I started using trade gecko since they started. I can say that they added TONS of new features which make it the most powerful inventory management software of its kind. We use it daily for all tasks and it is really a time saver. Would definitely recommend even thought they don't support our language (Spanish) it is still easy to use and really convenient.

Pros

It's really easy to use. Simple but really complete software. UI excellent. top notch customer service, usually get response to problems in less than 5 minutes.

Cons

Does not support Spanish language. I think they should add Spanish and many other languages since it is not difficult to port and they would target a lot more customers.

I've been using trade gecko since it launched so I'm on a legacy plan. The pricing at the moment is a lot higher that what I payed when I started which is kind of a let down. They should keep old users with old pricing without removing them features, just don't add any new one too.

We would like more customization and integration with our selling platforms such as Qoo10, Lazada and Shopee.

Pros

Trade gecko has help our company minimise workflow. We mainly use it to create sales order and provides quotations for projects. After creating sales order, the inventory will automatic be locked and subsequently be deducted after shipment. It all works seamlessly. We love it.

Cons

Probably the pricing. As business are currently transiting into ecommerce, having multiple sales channel are pretty common. Like our company, we have 8 websites on shopify, all selling different groups of products. We also have another 3 platforms such at Lazada, Shopee and Qoo10. However, even with the most expensive $499 plan, it only goes up to 5 sales channel. This is completely irrelevant. I think tradegecko should not limit the number of sales channel. Something to think about.
