Cerner Specialty Practice Management (PM) provides a front and backend solution for the health care sector. It offers its services primarily to small and medium-sized practices. The solution can be deployed either in the cloud or on-premise.
Cerner Specialty PM is built with features that help practices manage self-pay accounts and processes involved with insurance reimbursement. The system implements a real-time check for ensuring that ineligible claims are not processed.
Cerner Specialty PM is customizable, which allows for flexibility in scheduling rooms and medical equipment. It enables users to view patient’s appointment history as well as reschedule, modify and cancel appointments with them. The solution offers a Patient Monitor module that keeps track of patient wellness from admission to discharge.
Other features include patient scheduling, monitoring and posting payments.

I overall could deal with the program and its quirks. It is a decent program. But there are probably better ones on the market.
Was great for the mental health side. Had comprehensive assessments, releases and forms could be built into the system to look how you wanted them. Customer service was fast if ever there was a problem the superusers.
But the version of the program we had was so old that it did not work for all of the department. Would have preferred something that was behavioral health overall so that substance abuse could be included.

I AM A QUICK LEARNER BUT THIS PROGRAM WAS SHOWN ONCE TO ME AND ITS ALL IT TOOK. EASY PROGRAM. IF CRASHES HAPPEN THE COMPANY WORKS ON IT QUICKLY TO GET YOU UP AND RUNNING AGAIN.
THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT HAVE A HANDY TOGGLING TOOL. YOU LOSE INFORMATION IF YOU SWITCH WINDOWS WHICH CAN BE A NEGATIVE.

It gives me easy access to work with more than one doctor at a time which makes my life much easier.
There are some offices I actually have to log out of and sign back on differently to use the program. This can be frustrating.

Centralized location for patient documents, it is easy to use, able to see multiple schedules at once.
The program will frequently freeze if I'm clicking through icons quickly and it causes the entire system to have to reboot.
It is nice to be able to customize it to the specific needs of our practice. It is not hard to make changes either.
I think the look could be less cluttered, but overall I don't mind it once I got used to the program.

Providers have easy access to their info
The providers enjoy being able to access everything within the application itself. They do not have to jump around to find what they need. If they have multiple locations, still lets them access patients from other areas.
The application can be difficult to learn on the back end. The end user could notice possible maintenance issues due to this.
I like the view of this software. The colors look up to date and it is easy to navigate around within the system.
I don't like the payment processing part but with experience it is not too hard to navigate through.

Easy to use
The look - Cerner PM looks very up to date and is fairly easy to navigate around in. The schedule is easy to read.
I find the charges/payments to be a somewhat confusing screen. Overall no big complaints with EPM. It is easy to catch on to.

I wrote a review before. Just after trying many times I was told by the IT staff that this software requires you to write controlled substances every time as a new prescription, something that is a basic feature of all programs I use in other places. It's a waste of time, more so when you're busy with patients. It's another reason why I think this program is poor value for your money. That and the fact the support is always lacking and taking forever to fix problems. Just in this last month, the system has broken down an average twice a week. Often we're unable to write prescriptions or write progress notes for many hours while patients are coming to the clinic. I see the IT staff in the clinic trying to resolve the problems but usually takes them often hours or even a day to fix the problem, only to have a different one next week.
I was told it helps with billing and attendance reports, so I assume it's the main reason somebody buys it. For the rest of the staff is an ongoing disaster.
Poor features, no intuitive and takes many steps to do basic chores.

Overall, Cerner is the way to go! Thorough training is provided to get you equipped with how to use the program and customize it to your own personal practice and preference. The software is pretty easy to use and things that may seem difficult are made easy with the great customer service Cerner provides.
