About Kimbia


Kimbia is a cloud-based online fundraising solution designed for nonprofits, higher education institutions and community foundations of all sizes. Key features include embeddable donation forms, tools for event management and social media integration.

Donation forms, registration forms and personal fundraising pages can be embedded into organization or partner websites with forms being mobile-friendly. Fundraising tools let users organize giving days, set up peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns and manage event registration. Social sharing tools let fundraisers and supporters broadcast the campaign across their networks. Campaign progress can be tracked in real time and displayed on leaderboards for supporters to see.

Kimbia integrates with various customer relationship management (CRM) tools including Salesforce and the Raiser’s Edge, and can also send data triggers to email marketing tools. Additional features include Kimbia Simple Pay and form prefill capabilities.

Online training resources are available and support can be contacted via email.

Been a fine experience. No major issues.

We have raised more money!

Pros

Customer Service is top notch. Always helpful and easy to access. The way it integrates with our own website is very nice. Since it doesn't take you to a 3rd party site, it streamlines things for our guests and donors.

Cons

I wish it was a little easier to navigate the back end pages. When first using, it's not super user friendly. it takes a lot of clicks to figure some set up out.

Love Kimbia and the flexibility.

Ability for customize and simplify our online fundraising efforts.

Pros

Flexibility of where I can put donation pages and how unlimited ways I can customize forms for my needs.

Cons

Not enough documentation of new features and the different types of widget and other features that are available and how to use them.

Kimbia makes registration and fundraising for our signature Fall event an extreme challenge.

I don't think I can list a single benefit.

Pros

It's really hard for me to find a Pro for the Kimbia product. I would have to say that the best thing I've experienced is that Dave is fairly helpful once he responds to our request for assistance. Often times, the response is delayed but once he gets back to us he's helpful.

Cons

I'm sorry to say that there are probably too many Cons to list. As a professional fundraiser tasked with raising funds using the Kimbia platform I feel like I've had to become a web developer in order to get the tools I need to be successful. Even now, I am highly doubtful that we'll be able to raise our needed funds because we use this product. From a professional fundraiser perspective, I really dislike the look of the fundraising pages. I also hate I have to pull 3 forms to get all of the fundraiser's info for 1 campaign. The user interface is extremely difficult to navigate so I spend a fair amount of time updating pages for fundraisers, I can't ask someone who is raising money for our organization to muddle through changing their pages. I also am VERY turned off that our organization has asked for more training in the product and the response from Kimbia was that we'd have to pay for it, in my opinion that shows a complete lack of customer service and an extreme disinterest from Kimbia on wanting our organization to be successful. I'd love to be able to switch to a superior P2P fundraising product and am hopeful we will be able to in the future.

I could go on and with greater detail to the Cons of Kimbia and even though I hate to give negative product reviews I feel very strongly that Kimbia is a hinderance rather than a help to the effort we are putting forth for our event.

Provides easy to configure forms for embedding on your site

Pros

Kimbia makes creating new donation forms very easy. The reporting function is highly configurable to create automated reports for different team members. Support is responsive to requests.

Cons

Individual form elements are not as customizeable as other form generators. Styling is controlled via external style-sheets.

Very easy to use software.

Pros

It is easy to use for those who are not tech savvy. Customer service is superb! Everyone I've worked with has been responsive and supportive.

Cons

We set solid time limits on time restricted pledges. We have to adjust end dates for pledges. It's not a huge problem as we can access the site from any computer with internet access and set reminders.

My use is minimal which has been good, but the back end is not as user friendly.

Pros

User friendly for certain aspects of system and customization is great. We're exploring more and looking forward to what else is possible

Cons

Back end set up (donation page for example) is cumbersome and we've been disappointed in customer support.

Lots and lots of clicking and settings are buried in so many different places.

We have certainly managed to raise funds time and time again, which is great! We just want a better workflow and design to be implemented.

Pros

Peer-to-peer fundraising has some nice features. Setting up a basic registration form is pretty easy.

Cons

Complete setup of a full campaign is very difficult unless you have a lot of experience with how everything works and where the settings are buried. The site is also not very responsive. You'll edit a setting, push submit, and the screen will sit for a little bit before doing anything. You might get a message that something didn't work after that. Creating a report requires a LOT of clicking around usually. The entire Kimbia platform needs to be updated badly. It has an early 2000's aesthetic and workflow. Sites today are a lot more streamlined and intuitive. With the right redesign, Kimbia could be something truly great. We don't use all of the features it has to offer because setting them all up is like navigating a maze. Settings typically have no description as to what exactly it is.

Love Kimbia!

Pros

This software is very easy to use! Also, we have had excellent customer service this year. It has definitely been elevated from our first year use.

Cons

Wish there was a little more flexibility in certain items. Ability to change the way things are used or look on the site would be good.

Does what we want with ease

Pros

The software was very compatible with our other software making automating our system much quicker and easier with a few were human errors.
