DameWare Software

DameWare is cloud-based remote access software that allows users to provide remote support on desktops, laptops and servers. It caters to businesses of all sizes.

DameWare helps users centrally manage team members and customers, activate and control their licences and share the host list globally. It also supports end users through a mobile app for Android and iOS, so users can connect through smartphones and tablets.

The window administration feature helps users troubleshoot problems without conducting complete remote control sessions. The solution also helps manage multiple active directory domains using a single interface. The product offers user account administration, password resetting and group policy editing.

DameWare provides two-factor authentication, so users can log into remote sessions via the verification protocol. The solution also supports remote-access sessions by logging in from support tickets and creating an audit trail. The product integrates SolarWinds Help Desk.

I have benefited from DameWare because I have been able to offer support to the vast majority of my employees, helping them to meet each of their work goals, and there has not been one that has not been able to help with DameWare, the truth is very good statistics.

Pros

The best thing that DameWare has is the trial version, since it is a version that offers the client the possibility of enjoying all the "paid" features for free for an exact period of days, the truth is that the version of test and the accessibility it offers.

Cons

It should improve "DameWare for mobile devices" since the design is very ugly and this totally bores the customer. Nothing better than a design that provides comfort, that's what I recommend, a design adapted to the era.

We use this software to offer remote support and it has been a great addition to our software library and has increased productivity since we no longer have to go in person to a majority of our service calls now that we can just remote in and take care of the issue.

Pros

It has an easy to use gui that lets you find the workstations on your network and connect to them without a lot of issues. you can also do things like remote registry editing or backdoor into a workstations drives. They also offer a mobile app for you to be able to offer remote support while you are not at your desk.

Cons

The initial setup could be daunting for some users. It supposedly will interface with Kace Management appliance but we could never get it to work completely.

I have always been comfortable with using Dameware and the new to the updated software has been great!

Pros

I have been recently using an older version of Dameware for years. It has worked reliably and solidly for a long time. I just upgraded for in house use on supporting our organization. There are many features with the mini remote control and remote support. I have been able to use things to maintain system without having to log in to the PCs themselves. The actual services can be "pushed" out, which simplifies things. The fact that we have a VPN is simple. Once I am connected, Dameware can handle the rest. A bonus is when you log in, you are not actually logging out the current user.

Cons

It can be unreliable at times. I am not always able to connect to a machine solidly. However, Window Remote Desktop always seems to work. The password save on credentials on the mini remote control is not always reliable. Also, after entering information on the mini remote control it will not function when you hit the connect button. You must close and reopen the window sometimes.

Have not had much interaction with Support, but the techs I work with say that its fairly good. Responsive and concise.

Pros

The ease with which a technician can remote to a users system is great. Interface is easy to use and understand.

Cons

Comes with many additional programs for configuration, licensing etc. Could be centralized to have all features in one application.

Dameware is a well made remote support tool that has a lot of customization options available. It works smoothly on most PCs and has a great customer service team ready to help if needed.

Pros

I like all of the customization that this software offers. It seems to work really well with most operating systems and makes remote assistance a breeze. It takes minimal resources to run smoothly as well.

Cons

It seems like our version of Dameware Remote Support doesn't work well with the Windows 10 operating system. The graphics are very choppy and shows a slight delay.

Pros

I have used this program for some time and the ease of use is at the top of the list of the good. It is very easy to deploy and accessing user machines on the domain is a breeze. Lots of options and features make the tool flexible and able to adapt to your organizational needs. Providing remote user support in our distributed environment is a necessity and Dameware has been our tool of choice.

Cons

Over time the quality of technical support has degraded which is a shame. Other than that I have no complaints about my experience with the tool.

if you are an administrator in a domain environment, check out this software. If you are looking for a way to connect to users over the internet, there are better options out there.

Pros

Lots of features for a fairly low cost. You are able to pay a one time license fee and get the software for life.

This software allows me to remotely access any computer on the domain, without user intervention.

Cons

not really useful for external tech support

Cons

Versions need to match for the tool to connect other than that it has been a valuble tool for our technicians.

With DameWare, I was able to quickly and efficiently provide remote support to our end users. Awesome product!

Pros

The thing I liked most about DameWare is that I could easily connect to a remote machine and support the user. You were able to see the user's screen in realtime and walk them through whatever you needed. Very easy to use!

Cons

The thing I liked least about the software, was the number of features. There were so many features, I never felt like I would use them all, so I felt that some of them would be wasted. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it was too much for me.

The amount of features included are a great value. For remote support Dameware will get me connected when RDP or other methods fail. Its ease of use and customization ability are whats missing from so much software these days

Cons

While there is nothing wrong with the interface, it is a bit dated. Tho that being said, if its not broke then dont fix it. The few times i forget the set the remove and uninstall software on remote machine, Ive not determined how to remove the client software then. Not a deal breaker, just a strange missing feature.
