### Great all round inventory management and small business application that will give you 90% of what you need

We have been using CIN7 for nearly 12 years and have grown with the product. Our experience has mostly been positive, and the application has grown with our business, allowing us to do most of what we need from POs and manufacturing, all the way through to quotes, sales invoices, and integration with our Xero accounting package.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It is a great platform for small-business inventory, sales, and POs. Costing, invoicing, and simple production jobs are all included, which rounds off most of what we need for the business. Easy integration to Xero for our accounting. Easy integration to Shopify for our B2B and B2C sites.

#### Cons

Generally, the support is quite limited and slow - they have lost all flexibility. Online chat has a limited understanding of the product, and since we have been using it for over 10 years, we tend to know more than they do. We stopped using their B2B site and also their POS software. Both were clunky and limited. Found alternatives through Shopify for both.

We’ve spent the past 8 weeks implementing Cin7 Omni, and while the platform has potential, there were several challenges that hindered our experience. We are a small organization with a team of just 10 people, and given our size, we couldn’t afford a third-party partner to assist with implementation. We were initially sold on the idea of having an onboarding specialist to guide us through the process. However, the specialist assigned to us, though eager to help, was new to the role. While he made genuine efforts to understand our requirements, his limited experience occasionally slowed down the process. At times, we felt that we weren’t getting the most efficient support and that the company could benefit from assigning a more experienced person to the job. One of the most frustrating aspects was the system’s tendency to give error messages when navigating between functions. This issue was frequent, and I often had to log out and back in to resolve it—sometimes taking up to 5 minutes to clear. Another key limitation is the customization of fields. We were disappointed to find that only text-based fields could be created as custom fields, and we didn’t have the ability to make them numerical or include dropdown lists. While we were able to get support for this from Cin7, it required significant persistence and was not a seamless process. We also ran into issues with the import functionality, particularly with Sales Orders. While the copy-paste feature is convenient, it only allows for importing product and quantity. Unfortunately, we were unable to import custom pricing, which became a major hurdle for large orders (up to 500 lines). Additionally, we faced challenges with branch management. The system defaults to a "Main Branch," which we requested to be removed and replaced with our actual branch. While Cin7 indicated that this was done, the Main Branch continued to reappear in forms. We later learned that the Main Branch couldn’t be removed, and we would need to re-import our entire inventory to make this change, which was far more time-consuming than expected. Our Shopify integration also presented challenges, particularly with the click-and-collect feature, which kept syncing to the wrong branch. Despite several attempts to resolve this, the issue persists. As a small team with only one physical store, we can only imagine how complicated things would be with multiple locations. Lastly, the integration with HubSpot is very limited, syncing only basic contact and product information, which was another disappointment. Similarly, the Shopify-Cin7 sync is restricted to a narrow set of fields. It would have been helpful to have a clearer understanding of what data is actually integrated before committing to the platform. Overall, while Cin7 Omni has promise, the support process and system limitations made it challenging for us to achieve the smooth, efficient experience we were hoping for. We hope that Cin7 will address these issues to improve the onboarding and functionality for future users.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

-User-friendly interface that’s easy to navigate -Integration with Shopify and Xero -Copy-and-paste import feature (useful in many areas) -Centralized inventory management across products and locations -Cloud-based system, accessible from anywhere

#### Cons

-Onboarding support lacked experience and slowed down implementation -Frequent error messages requiring logouts to resolve -Limited custom field options (text only, no dropdowns or numerical fields) -Importing custom pricing into Sales Orders not supported -Shopify click-and-collect sync issues with incorrect default branches -Support team lacks deep understanding of business processes -Limited integrated fields across third-party platforms like Shopify and HubSpot

#### Reasons for choosing Cin7 Omni

Pricing, native integrations, good UI and onboarding feature.

#### Reasons for switching to Cin7 Omni

Wanted a cloud based inventory management system

### Cin7 is a decision we don't regret.

We started with Cin7 before the pandemic hit. They have you partnered with someone to help with set up and then when you go live. We went live April 2020. I missed having easy access to someone to help us, answer questions, do minor configurations that we saw we needed. After a few months, we went to premier level. That was the smartest thing. We had a direct contact, weekly calls, any tickets or requests were managed timely. After 6 months or so, "we got it", and have been on our own. Still send in random support tickets, but I am proud of our whole team that we know how to leverage the tool.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Our end goal was to use Shopify. Cin7 was the inventory management solution that made the most sense. We could also integrate with Xero and ShipStation. One transaction flows through the tool the same way, whether I start in POS, Shopify or Cin7 back end. Makes it seamless for our team to process. I trust the data. This is one source of truth.

#### Cons

We are an apparel wholesaler, so we have learned to look at style-color-size different. We would like to be able to scan both customer orders and inventory transfers or counts. That isn't fully enabled yet.

#### Reasons for choosing Cin7 Omni

Honestly, due to price.

#### Reasons for switching to Cin7 Omni

Automate business. Be ready for growth. Seek visibility and integrity in our inventory.

We have been using Cin7 Omni for the past 5 years, and overall our experience has been very positive. The platform has been reliable and scalable as our business has grown. One of the biggest advantages for us has been the API, which allowed us to build custom side applications and tailor the system to our specific workflows. This flexibility has made a significant impact on our operations.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

#### Pros

What I liked most about Cin7 Omni is its robust API and the flexibility it offers in the UI. Being able to customize certain workflows and fields, even in small ways, has made a big difference in improving our day-to-day operations and efficiency.

#### Cons

Overall, there isn’t much we dislike about Cin7 Omni, as it has been working very well for our needs. If anything, some advanced customizations can require additional setup or workarounds, but nothing that significantly impacts our day-to-day operations.

Overall we love Cin7 and would be lost without the platform. We're mostly happy with the product but it would be great if they could address the intermittent performance issues and improve the help articles so they more clearly articulate what the "best practice" settings are when configuring the software for a typical business.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Cin7 Omni is packed with functionality and connects to all the common marketplaces we work with. The core functionality powers our eCommerce operations, inventory management and warehouse. The value delivered is significant and the capability would be hard to replicate with alternative solutions.

#### Cons

We have intermittent performance / loading issues with the system from time to time that usually resolve themselves within a minute or two and configuring the system correctly can be challenging given the level of flexibility the system has to adapt to your workflows but the support team are there to help guide you if you get stuck. I recently had a great interaction with [sensitive content hidden] in the support team when configuring my new Amazon Marketplace connection.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Cin7 is our central hub for our business where our ecomm and wholesale ordering systems connect. Order management and inventory management quite good although we are using a consignment model and the dashboard does not really support us well

#### Cons

I find that when creating branches for consignment the dashboard reports SOH and available stock of all branches which is misleading - consignment branches means our stock is located with customers - therefore the SOH and Avail stock should be shown on the dashboard by branch or at least for the main branch, minus consigned stock

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

As a complete inventory and order management system it is pretty good and easy to use and understand for anyone who has worked with ERP's before. I requires minimum set up if your business doesn't require any integrations. Easy to upload and download information.

#### Cons

If something "breaks" it takes forever for Customer Service to reply to your queries or issues, even critical ones. There's no-one to call, you can only create a case online and hope for the best. I've had issues or requests for integrations which have taken months to get a reply. If you are lucky enough to get someone in the chat service to chat to you, all they say is that you need to create a case online and wait for an answer. This problem has gotten worse in the past 12 months. If it continues, we might look into changing software for our business.

#### Reasons for choosing Cin7 Omni

Value for money, particularly in terms of functionality.

#### Reasons for switching to Cin7 Omni

Previous system was outdated and didn't have support. Newer version needed to be set up and managed by consultants for the life of the product which would have costed a small fortune.

Integration was seamless, having a dedicated client manager on call with professional expertise that acts more of an educator than an implementor trained us how to use this software not what to do exclusively. Impartially, there's nothing I don't like. Issues solved Stock control. Selling via 5 channels is impossible to track without CIN7. Exact cost price - Paid in a different currency, need to add in extra shipping and handling costs, storage fees? no problem, it's all there, per item, per batch. +1 for Client manager Frankie, a true professional and educator. +1 For honest sales executive Shyam

Generally, this is a very useful system and once you understand how to use it, it is very beneficial. Even with the glitches, I would still recommend it, this product has so many different features, and I believe that you can find a way to run every warehouse, no matter how unique your systems are. This is a system that has so many features and you can use them all or just those that suit your needs. Cin7's onboarding is extremely expensive, but necessary, because setting it up right with someone to guide you is a must.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The most useful features in Cin7 is the ease of integration with Xero and Woocommerce. It was easy to connect and Xero connected easily. Also the B2B store is Cin7 best feature and easiest application to use and manage and has given me so much time back as no longer have to manually invoice each client.

#### Cons

This product is on the pricey side and at times Cin7 can be a little glitchy, such as when completing an invoice it does not always transfer to the Xero Dashboard immediately, or the stock transfers on a sales invoice do not happen correctly and it comes up with an error, yet still completes the sales invoice and I then have to go in an manually alter each stock item. Also in the Woo-commerce platform the client names on orders do not always come through correctly, the system always messes these up.

#### Reasons for choosing Cin7 Omni

It had the most diverse features and they seemed the most knowledgeable about warehousing.

#### Reasons for switching to Cin7 Omni

Tradegecko shut their system down.

It's been an emotional roller coaster. I will try and keep our feedback brief and summarise our experience. Firstly we are a small business trying to get ourselves ready to take bigger steps in to growth by implementing systems that can simplify and reduce overheads moving forward. I chose CIN7 as it ticked many of the boxes we were looking for and the promises made on the initial consultation reassured us that the on-boarding process would be taken largely out of our hands. On-boarding is where the trouble started. Largely due to the incompatibility and complexity of our existing systems the amount of time and man hours requited to get the data ready on our side has been enormous. So much so that planned "go live" dates were pushed time and time again. I found working with the support team in different time zones further complicated things. Whist our on boarder [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] (more on him later) worked to our time, most of his support did not, so if there was a task he needed to outsource we would have to wait 24-48 hours for it to be resolved before we could continue moving forward. Due to the extraordinary amount of work that was required for us to carry out and issues with personal circumstances we had to take a brake from the on-boarding process. During this time, CIN7 deleted much of the work we had complied. This resulted in a complaint being raised and a consultation period to agree if and how we could move forward. Once the complaint reached the right hands, it was dealt

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5

#### Pros

The communication to Xero for accounting. Order management is okay and my experience is improving as we become more familiar with the system

#### Cons

The link to magento is awful and not doing what it should. This was a very important reason why Cin7 was chosen so I look forward to these issues being resolved.

I wathe new version was very poor and extremely clunky to use. I spent over a year testing other 'Market Leading' software packages all of which failed in some key aspects and then a customer reccomended Cin7. That was over 5 years ago and in that time the company has expanded from 3 staff to 25 staff and i absolutely believe that Cin7 has been a key factor in that success.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5

#### Pros

It does everything we need and everytime we think 'wish we could do this' we check the support Videos or speak to the superb 24 hour support and then we find that we can do what we want. Links seemlessly to other software packages like Xero and Shopify etc. All my 25 staff from the 66 year old to the 18 year old find it so very easy to use and on the job training saves us £1000s in lost time.

#### Cons

I would like to be able to either produce bespoke reports or pay a consultant to produce these reports. ie a Price List. Also i think you should be able to restrict staff from having acess to certain information.

#### Reasons for choosing Cin7 Omni

It either does everything I need to run a multi million pound business or integrates seemlessly with other soiftware. Whenever we have problems with Cin7 the support is superb and 99.9% of the time it is actually operator error not the software at fault. I'm hate praising Cin7 so highly in case you put the prices up.

#### Reasons for switching to Cin7 Omni

It was a Doss based product.

#### Pros

There's a lot to love about CIN7. For the most part this is a very slick, well thought out system that is easy to use with many powerful features that allow you to easily manage your inventory whilst having relevant and timlely stats at your fingertips. The dashboard is a fantasic snap shot of where your business is day to day. Using CIN7 on a daily basis I am impressed with how easy it is to use and how intuitive most of the functions are. It was very easy to integrate with our Woo Commerce site and with our Xero Accounting System. We also required a few tweaks in some functions/forms to suit our business and these were accomodated to make the system more relevant to what we do and how we operate. Apart from the system itself their other big asset is the customer service. I was beyond impressed with the care and attention we received from our onboarding specialist. We had a few set up issues along the way but these were sorted out in a timely and courteous manner, nothing was too much trouble and we really felt like we were supported during the set up phase. We have only been live with CIN7 for a couple of months but so far we are very happy with the way the system is performing and it has definitely improved our productivity.

#### Cons

The B2B portal is quite outdated but this is something we believe is going to be updated by CIN7 in the next few months which will make this feature much more usable and current. There were a few things which weren't customisable enough for fashion but the CIN7 team came up with workable solutions for all of the major issues we had.

#### Reasons for choosing Cin7 Omni

Ability to integrate with Woo Commerce. Customer service and ongoing support. Ease of use and features such as dashboard, B2B portal, CRM, POS.

#### Reasons for switching to Cin7 Omni

We made the switch to CIN7 because we were having issues with Indigo 8 integrating with our Woo Commerce site. We were told that integration with Woo Commerce had been tested and that they could integrate easily with Woo. But once we starting working with them and experiencing probems it became glaringly apparent that this was not the case and that we were basically the test dummy. We persevered for nearly 2 years but were experiencing ongoing problems that affectged our business, customers and productivity. The customer service was sub standard. Issues were not being taken seriously or being resolved.

#### Vendor response

Hi Kate, Thank you for your awesome review! We are thrilled to hear you're having a great experience with our software and feel well-supported by our team. We look forward to your feedback once our updated B2B portal is in place and thank you for being a Cin7 customer.

We started using both Xero & CIN7 in January 2014 and so far, both systems are working extremely well for us. We have two business units. We roast and package coffee locally here in Australia as well as import a premium finished coffee product from Europe. Cin7's ability to produce a customised system has allowed both business units to seamlessly integrate with Xero. Our production module within Cin7 allows us to accurately record raw materials and WIP so as to correctly transfer our stock position into Xero. Additionally, the BOM module really supports our customised selling strategy by allowing us to take different products to make up a customer specific final package. There are numerous benefits of this module which include detailed packing slips to ensure accurate picking, summarised invoices so that the customer receives a neatly finished invoice and very importantly, accurate costings. Cin7's foreign currency and freight allocation capabilities has also allowed our imported products to be accurately record in Xero. On the front end, our B2B module built by Cin7 has resulted in efficient order taking that integrates into Xero with the push of the data transfer function. This is extremely efficient during the bank reconciliation process. The main area for improvement revolve around Cin7's handling of gst free products. We had some teething problems on both the purchase and sales side of things as the majority of our products are gst free. However, by working closely with the Cin7 support team, we have been able to resolve this from both a recording of revenue/purchases and reporting perspective. I would definitely (and already have) recommend Cin7. A cost effective and efficient customer and inventory management system.

### Initially excited but have been let down in too many areas to be happy. Looking for other options.

#### Pros

New Zealand based with local offices. They do run training sessions hands on and say good things. Inventory side works okay.

#### Cons

The POS can't cope with our volume discounts and is unusable. No action to help us with that though we have pleaded with them for years. We're expected to change the way we classify quantities to fit their system, not fit the system to our needs. Also the "product cost" figure loaded against the product gets changed by the PO's. As product is sold and shipped the cost is pulled from the PO's in FIFO order and it changes the cost against the product. I want to load the "cost" then monitor our purchasing against the expected cost, not be driven by the system. Also, when Cin7 make changes to their software we often have very negative events happen that have no obvious connection to the change they made and they have been slow to help rectify. We are also not sure that the Cin7-Xero link works properly. We have seen historical "changes" happen to COGS in Cin7 vis-a-vis Xero back for two years with no apparent explanation. We're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars differences in the COGS figure. The charges they make to us to use the system are escalating and seem out of control. When trying to contact them about charges they don't have an "accounts" department. Really? It seems to be charge what they like and ignore the queries.

#### Vendor response

Dear Bruce, Sorry to hear about your experience. Our accounting specialist is already in touch with your accounting specialist to resolve some of the issues. There are certain software functions which are developed using accounting best practices and so COGS are calculated based on the cost entered during the purchasing process. This practice is accepted industry wide and being a SAAS company we have adopted this keeping it consistent across all our customers. We are working on your specific requirement about POS discount and one of our subject matter experts to give you an update on the progress. We take customer service seriously and would like to work with you to find an appropriate solution

It has definitely improved the operations within our business even though we have and continue to have a few teething problems. It is the best system I have worked with over the years and hope to continue to use.

#### Pros

Many features to allow for BOMs and dispatching of Kit products which has been much easier than other systems we have used. WMS is a brilliant feature. More features keep getting added which is great. Onboarding was brilliant.

#### Cons

The support after the initial set up period dropped of significantly and often need to find work arounds for how our business operates as I am told Cin7 don't support that feature. Occasionally I actually do find that feature in Cin7. Unable to save fixed breakpoints for suppliers so I find I am always having to double check Purchases orders as the costs seem to randomly change. Online help sources seem to be sometimes out-dated and this has caused errors to happen within our system, while getting the issues fixed I am told it is my user error even though I can find no source which says what I have done would cause any issues.

#### Reasons for switching to Cin7 Omni

Cin7 had the virtual stock feature for Kits.

The one thing I would love to see is for them the make it easier to add all available variant to a purchase order at one time.

It allowed us to stay in the same family of products.

#### Reasons for switching to Cin7 Omni

We needed more accuracy.

Software is good but the company's attitude towards its customers is very poor, they don't care about you or your business's success, you just represent money in their pockets.

#### Pros

Cin7 initially offered us a great package, it has a lot of features which are great for running our business

#### Cons

The person who onboarded us was not great and wasn't a great experience, but the worst thing of all is that they've recently REMOVED PHONE SUPPORT. Considering we rely on Cin7 to run our business this is hugely counterproductive for us and we have to rely on an absurd ticketing system which makes resolving issues very time-consuming, frustrating and drawn out. When another equivalent platform shows up in my inbox I wouldn't hesitate to investigate and jump ship if it meets our needs, Cin7 is just another money-grabbing corporation that couldn't care less about its customers.
