Pros/Cons
Pros
- Coupled with the fairly easy to use system and setup, I believe Helcim is one of the best, definitley the best for the price point, which I was just informed has been removed.
- I required support during a few steps of setup and was always responded to quickly and with great detail to help with any challenges.
- The application and approval process was quick and easy, had approval with 24 hours.
Cons
- I do not work with the system on a regular basis, so my own experience has been the lack of any problems or negative feedback from the people that do use it.
- But printer problems were only part of the headaches. The Helcim app, required near constant updating, and always lost it's connection if another transaction wasn't done within ~30 min.
- Even walking our client through each step, they'd still often make a mistake and have to start over because they'd hit the wrong button.
Pros
- I like the convenience of this. Super easy to suggest this payment method when a customer doesn't have cash, or prefers card payment over something like venmo or paypal.
- I love being able to offer my customers the option of paying me with an emailed link. Many people do not like to give out their cc information and this is a great option for a direct sales business.
- This software was excellent for ease of use and speed of accepted payments. Long the leader in this industry, we were thoroughly impressed.
Cons
- The only downside to the Square software was the lack of Wi-Fi compatibility and the short distance the square had with Wi-Fi as it frequently was reconnecting.
- Had to stop using as Clients disliked the extra charge on their account. We would have them use this to pay with credit cards on their accounts.
- We are very disappointed with how long they will hold the funds before transferring, there is often no rhyme or reason as to the length of time the funds are held.
