Converted from a two-digit only year system in 1999, I appreciate the flexibilty of the system. However, I notice now that anyting after 2050 reverts to the 1900's unless you enter all 4 digits of the year :(

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Property Management Module - ability to set property parameters for a property and yet modify each tenant based on lease terms.

#### Cons

General Ledger - does not include the ability to enter start/stop dates for recurring general ledger enteries.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage 300

The biggest advantage over Yardi was the ability to enter boilerplate operating cost parameters at the property level and not only at the tenant level.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage 300

Programmer would not make the switch to a four-digit year at the end of the 1990's

Sage 300 continues to be the workhorse for the accounting and purchasing departments. Project management has not been as productive as a tool for the company. Our operations staff typically uses the general contractor's Procore for project documentation. We look forward to future integrations into Sage and would participate in webinars that set forth Sage and 3rd party capabilities.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

It has been in service w/ our firm since before 2000. It consistently gets the current job done. We use most of the modules and like the integration functions.

#### Cons

Customer service is weak. It is hard to get in contact with Tech support. They can take a long time to get back to us. The level of support is inconsistent in resolving issues. We have had a lot of trouble with the report writer function. It turns out that changing the font size made the report really small or caused page cut-offs. Some of these reports are over 20 years old, like the A/R aging, and are mainly stock reports with a couple of modifications, like the headers and a Notes text box Office Connector has been a nightmare to get support from Sage or the 3rd party vendor. Sage ODBC and Office have an issue with Office 365 64-bit applications vs 32-bit. Everything is moving to a 64-bit environment, so why can't Sage move up to 32-bit? It is causing my office to keep several machines on the older version of Office. The Purchase Order module is not fully integrated with A/P and requires manual posting. We are still reviewing and manually uploading

### Great for Small and Medium Sized Businesses

We have used it at our Company for close to 30 years. While we replaced the Accounting piece for a more enterprise capable system, we still use it for some of our smaller entities. We do still use it for Construction estimating and it has performed excellent.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It is a good product for small and medium businesses. It has been around for a long time (I think close to 30 years) and has excellent US based support. This is one of the few softare solutions left where you can actually speak to a real person when you need help. Everyone I have had contact with at Sage has been great.

#### Cons

There aren't too many things. The one thing is that there is not a good hosted (SAAS) solution for Accounting and Estimating. We use a ZTNA VPN and it works pretty well, but it is slower to open and perform some tasks.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage 300

This is a more appropriate product for our small entities.

I’ve been using sage 300 CRE since it was converted from DOS so my first experience was DOS based and I think he called me a super user

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Support and the cost are the primary factors for staying with sage 300 CRE. It appears that they are not bringing functionality that we really need EFT payments, etc. are just not working with sage 300. We’ve got 35 bank accounts but only one place to hold the banking information for EFT because it’s housed in the wrong place it should be on the bank accounts and pulled into that task depending what bank you pull. I’ve sent a list of essential innovations to multiple people at Sage and no one is doing anything to improve the product.

#### Cons

It appears they have stopped innovating, the product and to move to Sage intact is way too expensive

#### Reasons for choosing Sage 300

Job cost functionality and customer billing functionality for program billing

#### Reasons for switching to Sage 300

job costing and billing functionalities, as well as property management for our IPP properties

All in all it was a great experience. We simply had to adapt and move on to further developed systems. Customer service from a Charlotte base company was horrible.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Its simplicity. The ability to create work breakdowns, back calculate unit rates from umpsum values are some examples.

#### Cons

Primavara support. The lack of development to a cloud base system to keep up with competition. Ability to bid level.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage 300

Simplicity and convenience not to switch.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage 300

Advancements, company use across Project Management, Accounting and now Estimating.

### Sage300 - Reliable Accounting

- Overall rating: 4/5

- Industry: Non-Profit Organization Management
- Company size: 2-10 employees
- Product usage: Used daily for more than 2 years

Sage 300 flows the way any good accounting program should. Our organization is small, and we don't use all of the modules within the system (e.g. payroll & inventory); however, the ones we use suit our needs.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It gets the job done, is predictable, and never glitches. I haven't run into any bugs or issues with Sage300 since I started using it six years ago. (The only bugs or issues have been with the interface between our CRM program and Sage 300, and the CRM program itself.)

#### Cons

I would like to be able to add comments to various items within the system. An accounting system I used to use allowed the user to enter "Shift+F2" comments on invoices, transactions, etc. The comments were only for the users of the system to see (i.e. internal comments) but were incredibly useful, and in some cases could be printed out on our AR & AP Aging reports. Additionally, I would like the ability to build my own reports. The canned reports that are offered to us are sometimes not what is needed.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage 300

The switch was mandated by the regulatory body that oversees our organization.

Our company has used it for more than 10 years. I liked it, but we switched to Sage Intacct due to the growth of our company.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It is a simple system for a small company. I was able to produce the reports that I wanted. As our company is growing, we switched to Sage Intacct.

#### Cons

Not flexible and takes a long time to download a file if the file is big. Sometimes it crashed if the downloaded file was too big.

#### Reasons for choosing Sage 300

It was recommended by our outside consultant.

#### Reasons for switching to Sage 300

As our company is growing, we need a more sophisticated system to keep track of accounting data.
