Excellent product to help build your portfolio.
The software allowed to run various scenarios easily and quickly to respond to stakeholder questions.
PROSThe software goes through a very intuitive walkthrough of building a portfolio. The step by step process is very easy to follow. Support for the product is always prompt and professional.
CONSWould like more of a self-help section and some more model examples to show the true capabilities of the software accessible from within the software.

We use Windham Portfolio Advisor with our advisors to make sure they act as fiduciaries.
Very easy to generate simple asset allocations between investments. We work with a lot of older clients looking to minimize risk in their portfolios and WPA allows us to manage those complexities to avoid unnecessary loss for a client. Will also analyze a client's wealth & income and generate custom reports/statements for client meetings.

CONSWindham Portfolio Advisor is great for any financial professional to implement into their everyday practice. We sometimes wish some of our other systems would integrate with WPA, but at the end of the day it's not really a huge deal.

Great for discussing asset allocation and risk with clients
This is very helpful in meetings with new clients who may not fully appreciate the trade-offs between risk and return
PROSGreat graphics and tables to highlight the interdependence of allocation, volatility and time horizon.

Great product. Windham allows us to optimize with a focus on downside protection & tax efficiency
Extremely fast, easy to import benchmarks, provides the ability to easily optimize around turbulent periods and tax efficiency , wealth analysis tool is an added benefit that provides great reports for client meetings
CONSMore benchmarks would be great, however the ease of importing benchmarks makes this less important.

WPA has been a great product to use in getting clients to understand their future needs.
Ease of use, ability to easily upload and reuse past model runs. Great customization and optionality of the various inputs that go into simulations.
CONSCould use some customization options in the 'presentation slides' output, and could also use more asset class benchmark options.

The Grand Piano of Portfolio Optimization Software
Pros: Mark and his team have very thoughtfully combed through the details that go into portfolio statistics. The deeper you dive into this program, the better it looks. I really wouldn't use any other optimization software now that I know the level of detail that went into building this. The alternatives out there are too basic and/or miss crucial details. A+ to the Windham team. Cons: Native application instead of web/cloud based. Can be difficult to use if you haven't learned exactly how it works. PC only.
