### Materio should be industry standard

Materio is incredibly robust, the team is fantastic/responsive/knowledgeable, and the software is actually fun to use. There is a copious amount educational/training material and the chat bot is pretty flawless. I only wish I'd made the switch from Houzz sooner!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Is "everything" an answer? Materio has gotten in the heads of interior designers to anticipate our needs before we do and is constantly adding new features to better support our day-to-day. It is the most robust (and beautifully designed) software I've used to date. I'm a huge fan of client and GC portals - makes sharing the latest drawings and finish schedules impossibly easy.

#### Cons

No cons for me. There were a few features I wanted to see before making the switch but they jumped on it quickly and I haven't looked back since.

#### Reasons for choosing Materio

We were tired of juggling multiple softwares and jumping around Dropbox, Google drive, etc. for assets.

#### Reasons for switching to Materio

For our brains, having ONE software to support our business activities was essential. The UX is better and it's beautifully/intuitively designed.

It's been wonderful. The customer team is extremely helpful, the product is always improving. The integration to quickbooks and the precision with managing budgets and payments is lovely. and the clients love to visualize the user interface. the addition of mood boards linked to products has been a game changer. We've been on board since the beginning!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

constantly implemented consumer feedback to make the platform easier to use and more robust

#### Cons

hard to discern product costs incurred between different parties involved in construction. the end user isn't clear - i.e. we are architects, not the GC, so we aren't responsible for pricing or budgeting nearly everything, but we do do some purchasing. We'd like to be able to manage or rather, not own, numbers alot of the time, but want to capture scope and specifications. Getting the GC to utilize the tool can be a challenge when they already likely have another estimating software that they utilize. We'd love to minimize the number of systems a client has to interact with.

#### Reasons for switching to Materio

The accounting integrations with quickbooks is much better, there are less syncing issues than other softwares. The overall product is way more robust, and being able to visualize selections in plan and elevation view is easiest for clients to interact with

It has been way, way harder to onboard and use and the cost is so high that I would not redo the choice to join but I am too deep in to switch. It hasn't been worth the cost upgrade of leaving something that was under $100 a month to what we pay now. It is a huge expense for me as a small business, and I haven't saved that in time or effort

#### Ratings breakdown

### We love Materio!

Materio is easy to use, has great customer service ([sensitive content hidden] is a gem!) and the software has completely streamlined our process both externally with our clients and internally as a team. It has made budgeting way easier and more transparent, and I love having all our tasks and timelines in one place to keep us on schedule. We have received positive feedback from both clients and the builders we work with, and overall has made our workflow much more efficient, streamlined, and keeps everyone in the loop. We are truly so happy with Materio and excited to see new features roll out.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

- The scope outline is very clear and easy for our clients to digest - It has made budgeting and scheduling projects so much more transparent with our clients and easier for our team to manage - Client approvals now come so much faster and is a lot easier for clients to review options and give us feedback - Purchasing is way more streamlined and our accountant loves how everything is synced in a clean way with Quickbooks - We like the feature to enter tracking into our purchase orders and how their arrival dates show up on our calendar. - Adding tasks in the timeline view under our design phases has been very helpful! The ability to add our process template to a new project is great. - It's a teachable software that will allow our team to grow and business to scale. - [sensitive content hidden] is an absolute gem! He's so quick to respond and extremely helpful and kind! We really enjoy communicating with him.

#### Cons

- I wish the timer was a bit more flexible. Would be nice to hit the play button and then log our info (project, scope, and notes) at the end before we hit stop. - Would be nice to see our gantt chart also in a calendar view. Our clients find it a bit cumbersome to scroll sideways for a long period of time.

#### Reasons for choosing Materio

Way better interface than the others and easy to use. We like that Materio is directed towards visual learners. The way we can upload floor plans and tag our products is genius! Our bookkeeper Meg mentioned how QuickBooks syncs way better with Materio than other products.

Visual organization of multiple projects of varying scopes and the ability to toggle between them. The full process of budgeting to execution can be managed with this tool, and it's the most user friendly of all the options I have tried.

#### Cons

Fluidness of designing boards, but that is improving and I am ditching my perfectionist ways little by little...lol.

The visual aspect of this program is a gamechanger. Love being able to mark the plans and perform takeoffs right on the plans. Perfect for our cost plus model. Love the stacks and mood boards, oh and the QR codes!

#### Cons

The app leaves us longing for more. Would love a 'company cam' style functionality for field notes so we could drop a separate subscription service.

#### Reasons for choosing Materio

Your YouTube videos and Instagram ads for the QR codes.. Hooked me

Cost was outrageous and client experience wasn't good. Budget/cost updates were lackluster and that program didn't work with our cost plus model.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Materio is basically a 'one-stop-shop' project management system, offering all of the features and services on ONE platform that our company was previously using THREE for! From client interface and communication to internal tasks and communication, planning and budgeting to procurement and product tracking, time tracking, bookkeeping/accounting, and MORE - it has truly been a game-changer for our team! Another pro of Materio is the multiple 'help' features it offers if/when issues/questions arise, especially during the onboarding phase of new Materio users. Between the AI Materio bot, tutorial videos, and live webinars, Materio provides all of the tools to help make the learning process easy and, if you can't find the answer(s) you're looking for in one of the above, there is always a friendly, knowledgeable (human!) Customer Success team member available via webchat to help guide and answer any questions. Additionally, we love being able to suggest/request new system features (that they actually take into consideration) as well as being able to see what features are currently in development and/or recently launched. Materio is constantly improving their system to accommodate the business needs of their users. Overall, Materio is an excellent program and we highly recommend it to any business in search of a new project management system. Thanks for all you do, Materio Team!

#### Cons

Materio is not the cheapest platform we have used, but given all that it has to offer to a business, it truly is worth every penny.

#### Reasons for switching to Materio

Materio offered all of the project management features that we needed at least three separate systems for.

### Simple to use for interior designers

As an interior designer, staying organized with a million decisions that need to be made is difficult. The organization within Materio has made it easier to get decisions approved and keep the project moving. Working with a residential construction team, it has been difficult to get them on board with using Materio, when they've always worked with pencil and paper. I think the features are there, and Materio is awesome at constantly improving, but the whole team needs to be on board with learning and utilizing the software for it to be optimally efficient.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I like the organization of the scope page and selections page. The checklist when you start a new project is great. I like being able to organize all files and details within each line item. Clients like seeing the scope page with the budget detailed out. The product clipper is great and easy to use. Clients like having a say with the suggestion feature, and being able to comment on individual selections.

#### Cons

I don't love the "open, awaiting approval, confirmed" tabs. This causes confusion for the cilent, when they are expecting to be able to see an item for approval, but I have to send the item and notify them via email each time an item is ready. I think a simpler solution would be to individually turn visibility on each selection on/off, off when you are still working on the item, and on when it's ready for the client to view.

#### Vendor response

Miah, thank you so much for taking the time to write a clear and thoughtful review! We really appreciate it. Regarding the selection workflow suggestions, we'd love to talk about that over a research call and will reach out directly. Thanks again!

### Materio is the Construction Management tool I've been searching for!

- Overall rating: 5/5
- Reviewer: David R.

- Industry: Architecture & Planning

As a small and relatively new design/build firm that is human-centered, we had been unable to find a good project management tool fit--many of the well-known tools are too bloated with features that we'll never use, a few are too light on features, and the vast majority put data first rather than people first. Materio is a game-changer for us!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Materio takes a radically different and far more sensible approach to construction management by putting the plans (floorplans, for example) front and center. In other words, whereas the foundation of typical construction management tools is data (i.e. spreadsheets,) the foundation of Materio is the plan itself, and data is layered on top of the plan, either literally or figuratively.

#### Cons

Materio is still quite new, so there are small hiccups for us in terms of figuring out certain things, but so far, we are delighted with it.

#### Vendor response

David, thank you for taking the time to provide a thoughtful review of our software! We are delighted you've found the tool you've been searching for! As a newer company, we are always trying to improve—looking forward to growing with you.

Very user friendly and visually appealing it Gives homeowners with even basic software experience the ability to stay fully aware and involved with thier projects with out extensive or time involved training

#### Cons

It could use a bit more complete takeoff aspect along with the plan marking side for bidding. It's got a solid base which allows for a good management and bid presentation platform but would benefit greatly for a true takeoff platform like a stack or square and it has all the ground work for it

### Misterio (aka Materio) | Our Love, Hate Relationship

The reason I titled my review "Misterio (aka Materio): Our Love, Hate Relationship" is because I firmly believe Materio will be able to help solve a lot of our internal struggles with project management and it does have the majority of the things I have been looking for in a software project managing tool. My only gripe is that it feels like were are still in the very Beta stages of the program and I wish more research and consultation with Design Build firms specifically would had been done before launching it and offering it in the market. I think a lot more testing should have been done with these types of companies prior to advertising and selling Materio as a solution for a Design Build firms. It has actually not saved me time like I was hoping. It has been a bit of a time sink since there are so many things that are still being flushed out. I also didn't appreciate the pricing jumping from the original advertised price of under $150/month to almost double that now. The pricing was one of the main factors I switched over and for it to quickly go up shortly after I signed up was also disappointing. HOWEVER, like I said at the beginning of my review, I do believe Materio will be a viable solution and I do hope to one day really really love Materio!

We started using Materio a few years ago, but really have integrated it fully about 6 months ago. Like with any new tool, you have to learn how to use it figure out the best way to apply it to your business, but overall we are super happy with how our projects are organized, how we can communicate with our clients, and also how easily we are able to put together quotes and contracts! We look forward to continue using the platform as it gets better and better!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

We love the user interface. The scope of work makes us look like we know what we're doing. We like that all our projects are in one central location.

#### Cons

Our main pain point (which in the scheme of things is minor) has to do with the accounting/expense side of the platform. They do offer a way to sync with quickbooks, but it requires you to manually add each expense, which proves to be a very tedious process if you have 7 projects going on. We are hoping there is a way to import a batch of expenses from a qbo export to save some man hours in the future. Our solution or workflow now is at the end of each month, export an expense report from quickbooks and have someone in the office input all the expenses to match our quickbooks side of things. The reason we do this is because we like the user experience of invoicing through materio with receipts uploaded, etc.

- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It's smart, intuitive, and maps all of your products, finishes, and other selections to exactly where they go on your project's floor plan or elevations. Much less scrolling through lists and spreadsheets, and much more quick and efficient decision making.

#### Cons

It's still in it's youth and has some bugs to work out, but the developers are committed, responsive, and constantly improving things.

#### Reasons for switching to Materio

Houzz is a piece of garbage and they just want to make as much money as possible off of their customers without improving anything.

We started using Materio about a year ago and have seen a measurable difference in procurement time and tracking. We also have a much easier time with client design hours, tracking, and billing.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Materio is very easy to learn and master quickly. The functions are organized clearly and most importantly with thought to a designer's flow.

#### Cons

There is still a gap with the CRM side. It is great internally but needs more functions for client interaction (think Basecamp).

#### Reasons for switching to Materio

is that even a question? HOUZZ is not designer-friendly!

#### Vendor response

Hi Deborah, thanks for the stellar remarks! We love to hear that you've successfully switched over from Ivy and find Materio easy to learn and master quickly!
