About GlobaLeaks

GlobaLeaks is a cloud-based open-source solution designed to help organizations establish a whistleblowing platform, enabling users to anonymously report issues related to harassment, fraud, theft, corruption or any unethical conduct. The application offers white-labelling capabilities, which allow organizations to personalize the interface with custom text, images, logos, fonts, colours and other attributes.

GlobaLeaks enables enterprises to create and assign cases to teams, chat and share multimedia files with whistleblowers and design custom questionaries to capture case data via a unified dashboard. It offers a host of features such as multilingual translation, integrated databases, multiple sites management, automated quality measurement testing, two-factor authentication and more. Additionally, businesses can configure data retention policies and manage compliance with GDPR policies.

GlobaLeaks lets administrators send encrypted email notifications and facilitates integration with iptables and AppArmor applications. It is available for free and support is provided via documentation, FAQs and other online measures.

Have the best and safest communication with Whistleblowers with GlobaLeaks!

Great software for whistleblowers with very attentive customer service if you have any doubt using it. HIGHLY recommended software.

Pros:

I love how it protects the identity of the people that want to stay anonymous but still want to help our community. It has an extensive list of features that make this software so unique and an essential tool for everyone.

Cons:

The custom of the software could be better, however, I think it has the necessary functions and tools for it to function perfectly.

La massima sicurezza tecnologica per il whistleblowing

Senza Globaleaks non avremmo potuto avere la scalabilità del servizio che offriamo a enti pubblici e privati. Anche un non tecnico può configurare e utilizzare facilmente lo strumento e per questo motivo è, ad oggi, di gran lunga il software più utilizzato in Italia per il whistleblowing, con una diffusione sia settoriale che geografica molto eterogenea. Molti dei progetti attuali di Transparency International Italia sono basati su Globaleaks e non potrebbero proseguire senza la disponibilità di questo software.

Pros:

Il software ha requisiti di sicurezza altissimi. La sicurezza rappresenta l'elemento principale per quanto riguarda le piattaforma crittografate per il whistleblowing. Lo strumento è molto versatile e permette diverse configurazioni; è quindi utilissimo in diversi contesti. Dal 2014 l'abbiamo infatti utilizzato sia ai fini di raccolta di informazioni che come strumento di dialogo crittografato. La sua versatilità ne ha permesso l'adattabilità a contesti molto diversi tra di loro, dal settore pubblico a società private di ogni dimensione, al contesto attivistico delle organizzazioni non governative. La versione di default offre già molte possibilità ma l'evoluzione e i miglioramenti nel corso degli anni hanno facilitato il suo utilizzo da parte di ogni tipologia di utente. I nostri progetti basati su Globaleaks sono utilizzati da quasi mille enti, con soddisfazione degli utilizzatori. Il fatto che il software sia open source e che abbia moltissimi utilizzatori nel mondo si riflette anche sul miglioramento continuo da parte degli sviluppatori. Ogni nuova esigenza legata sia a normative che a necessità di utilizzo viene affrontata in modo sempre tempestivo.

Cons:

L'unica difficoltà è stato l'iniziale macchinosità di utilizzo per un non tecnico nel 2014. Queste difficoltà sono però state superate dagli sviluppatori, che hanno reso il software molto immediato a livello di utilizzo.

Pros:

After installing Globaleaks on Ubuntu, I stumbled with some minor issues on the setup. What I appreciate the most is how the community including its developers continue to help and support the users in customizing the tool.

Cons:

Documentation is essential. I find it hard to get some info about changing the themes to match it with the color of our company. Nevetheless, the tool doesn't have any major issues.

Abbiamo risolto i problemi più impegnativi per un Ente nell'ambito del whistleblowing:- assicurare l'anonimato nella segnalazione e la sicurezza sia della comunicazione sia dei dati salvati- poter mostrare con dati certi la gestione della segnalazione alle autorità competenti

Il software si installa molto facilmente, occupa pochissime risorse ed è progettato per massimizzare la privacy by design e by default. L'uso della cifratura ad ogni livello inoltre garantisce la riservatezza dei dati e delle comunicazioni.Anche la costruzione di modelli personalizzati per la segnalazione è semplice ed è stata arricchita con alcune opzioni intuitive, non c'è bisogno di avere competenze tecniche per riuscirci.

Cons:

Al momento non è stato rilevato alcun punto debole.

Safe, Open, Transparent and User-Friendly Whistleblowing

The software is open source and this is a must in case of whistleblowing systems. Only in this way we can build trust and really protect whistleblowers.

GlobaLeaks is open source software, which helps any organization to set up easily and maintain a secure whistleblowing system, which is transparent and user friendly. Scope of possible customizations is really well balanced.

Cons:

There is only English version of documentation for users and administrators. It would be great to have localized versions.

The software is generally user-friendly and building questionnaires on the platform is intuitive. The development and support teams are very helpful and accessible if you have any queries or issues.

Cons:

Customising the appearance of the platform is not straightforward, although there are legitimate justifications for limiting this to maximise anonymity protections for the end-user.

Globaleaks is the best open source alternative for whistleblowing processes

Overall experience has been absolutely great. From beginning to end we have received support from the devs at Globaleaks even though this is an open source software.

Easy to use, open source (cost effective) and with great support on their Slack Channel, Globaleaks are offering an incredibly smart and powerful tool.

Cons:

Design could be improved however sufficient for the amount of use we will make of the tool. Some issues with implementations and notifications initially that were quickly resolved thanks to the support of dev team!
